Kyrell

Third person pov

Kyrell stood in front of the full length mirror in his walk-in closet buttoning up his shirt. The closet was probably the size of a standard bedroom yet the feeling of suffocation had not left him. He picked up his suit jacket, sweeping his arms into it as he walked out to his main bedroom.

The bedroom, like the closet, was elegant, expensive and dark. The kind of luxury that screams old money laced with modernity. "Come in Samiel." Kyrell said before his future beta could knock.

"Prince Kyrell." Samiel said, approaching with caution. Since they got back from the Nightclaw pack, Kyrell's beast had been on a killing spree. Samiel tried to give him space, but no space was enough for the man, not even his own mansion. "The car is ready, Prince." Kyrell stood staring at the floor-to-ceiling window his hands in his pant pockets.

He had put off seeing his father for three days after returning from the Nightclaw pack. Not wanting to deal with the Lycan Alpha with the rage that refused to loosen its hold around his neck. He arranged his shirt collar. Ties had never been a part of his dressing for he never understood why people enjoyed choking themselves. "Let's go." He said, walking past Samiel who held the door open for him before closing it and following behind.

They arrived at a black SUV and Kyrell sat in the back seat while Samiel sat next to the driver. Kyrell thought that shutting down his wolf for some time would make him think clearer, but the reverse was the case. All he could think of was that girl. Her scent that still clung to his senses. So he decided to distract his wolf by feeding him blood, but that had little effect on him. And now the hunt was in three days, and his wolf would crave for his mate.

The Vorne estate did not welcome you. It commanded you instead. The type of command you willingly submitted to.

An enormous building came into view and the electric gates slid open making way for his car. The driver stopped in front of the main building for Kyrell and Samiel to get down before driving away to the garage.

The mansion looked like it was carved from a mountain and given a modern makeover. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels complemented the old stone walls perfectly, giving the building an old power and new money feel.

Samiel fell two steps behind as they moved through the corridor toward the east wing. The meeting room sat at the end of a long hallway lined with portraits of past Alphas. Kyrell pushed open the heavy double doors and entered.

His father, Alpha Alaric, sat at the head of the long table, his polished suit complementing the expensive dress of his mother sitting beside him to the right, composed as ever. Her golden eyes lit up at the sight of him.

"You're late." The stern voice of his father echoed in the room.

"I'm here." Kyrell replied, pulling out the chair across from his father and sitting without invitation.

"Father, I" Kyrell said, feeling a sudden wave of heat rush through him. He forced himself to stay composed. "I apologize for not bringing Vesper along, and for not coming sooner." He managed to force the words out. His father remained calm but Kyrell could see the anger and disappointment burning beneath that composed exterior. The air suddenly became thicker.

Alpha Alaric let the silence stretch before speaking. "Vesper is a very strong she-wolf." Kyrell was growing tired of hearing that. "A union with her would secure your claim to the alpha position and solidify your chances of making strong pups." He leaned in. "You know this."

"I know." Kyrell said.

"Then explain to me why you returned without her." Alpha Alaric said, his calm demeanor wavering.

There was no way Kyrell could tell his father the truth. That he had found his fated mate, and she turned out to be a human? His father would not care that fated mates were almost impossible for lycans to have if he found out she was just a weak human.

"There were complications at the Nightclaw pack. However, I instructed Samiel to send a driver to pick her up." He said.

His father's eyes narrowed. "Complications." Alaric stared at his son intensely. "Strong alpha females will be present at the hunt. But Vesper is the one I have chosen. She is dominant, well-bred, and her wolf is powerful enough to stand beside yours without breaking."

"And if none of them are chosen by my wolf?" Kyrell dared to ask.

The temperature in the room dropped.

"Your wolf does not get to choose." His father said. "You are the next Alpha of the Vorne bloodline. You will choose with intention, just as I did with your mother."

Kyrell opened his mouth to respond but a sharp scent struck his senses, making him grip the edge of the table forcefully.

His mother looked at him with concerned eyes while his father regarded him with disappointment. Kyrell hated both expressions, but his wolf was tearing at his skin and threatening to reveal itself. He stood from his seat with remarkable speed and reached for the door, ignoring the confused looks on his parents faces. His designer suit suddenly felt too tight for his body.

No sooner had he pushed open the doors than he tore into his lycan completely with a deafening roar and darted out of the mansion leaving a shredded suit on the floor.

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Alpha twins

NyxFor a moment, neither of us moved. He stood by his car, gray eyes fixed on me, and for one foolish second I let myself believe he was happy to see me. I started to move towards him, but then his expression shuttered, and whatever warmth I'd imagined disappeared like it was never there.Still, against every nerve in my system, I didn't stop until I was a few feet from him. "Dad." The word felt strange in my mouth, like I was learning a new language. He didn't answer, instead doing a terrible job of trying to control his facial expression, which shifted from shock to anger. If I didn't know better, I would have thought he was nervous."How are you doing, Dad?" My voice cracked. I held the file tighter, hoping it wouldn't rip while I waited for his answer. When he did, disappointment hit me more than I expected."What are you doing here?" His voice was as I remembered, cold. I tried not to let it bother me."I go here now. Well, I will, if I get everything sorted." I couldn't stop my

Nyx The room felt too small, like a ribcage closing in. It was as if the oxygen was being sucked out of the room, and all I could feel was the heat radiating from Kyrell's body. I quickly moved away from him, putting enough distance between us. I stared at him, disgusted with myself. "You're disgusting." I spat, folding my arms on my chest. Slowly, he turned to face me. "Says the one responding to my touch." There was a hint of amusement in his voice, that infuriated me more. I could make out the slight smirk on his features despite the dimly lit room. "Oh yeah? I wasn't the one seeking validation to prove I'm a good kisser." I probably sounded childish, but I didn't care about that now. Kyrell stood there for some time, his expression back to stone before walking towards the door. "My driver would take you to Crescent in the morning." He twisted the door handle and halted his movement. "I don't need your help." I gritted before he could step outside. I refused to let him b

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Was it terrible?

NyxI guess my life wasn't so shitty after all. The scholarship was the only good thing to come out of this whole mess, even if the messenger was my brother.Cullen must have seen the war on my face because he added, "Admission ends in two days." He said gleefully. Two days? At least I had enough time to prepare myself. I still didn't know what I needed preparations for. This was my only chance of actually getting the hell out of here."No." The word came out steadier than I felt. "I'm not going anywhere with you."His smirk faltered, just for a second, and I savored it more than I should have. I turned and walked out of the garden before he could recover enough to argue, my legs carrying me faster than my mind could keep up.I had a bond I still needed to sever, and I didn't know how to go about it. Maybe rejecting his offer would make him give up. Who was I kidding? Cullen never knew when to give up. At least I got the information, time to put it to good use.I'd be a fool to follow

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Make a choice

NyxIt took me faster than I expected to understand what Vesper just said. However, before I could reply to her, she spun on her heel and walked towards the stairs, leaving me to deal with the impending weight of Alpha Gerald's rage. After a moment I snapped out of it. I needed to get my life back together by actually getting the fuck out of here. That meant finding a way to sever this bond. However impossible that might be. And what better place to search for impossible knowledge if not a library?I started walking, searching for any room with books in it. After walking for about ten minutes, I still couldn't find the library. Did the packhouse even have one? The feeling of frustration burned the soles of my feet as I traced my steps back downstairs.I was about to go to the kitchen and ask the nice omegas for directions when a strong pull tugged me towards the back door. Like an ancient yearning that felt oddly familiar.I didn't know where it led, but I found myself moving towards

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    His amusement

Third personKyrell's hand tightened around Cullen's throat, and all he could think of was finishing it. To feel the exact second life left the body dangling from his fist. The bastard before him had the guts to lay his hands on her. Ignoring the way his mind was currently being invaded by both his luna and beta, he focused on the task at hand. After crossing his border in search of Nyx he ordered his warriors to keep an eye out for him. He knew Cullen would definitely be back to finish what he started, but he didn't expect it to be this soon.Cullen's eyes locked onto his, and behind the fake struggle there was something else. Something Kyrell recognized immediately. Amusement.Cullen knew that the Lycan alpha regretted not killing him when he had the chance. He knew the killing intent he was doing a good job of controlling was all because of his little sister. He'd known the moment Kyrell descended those stairs that this was how it would end. How he wanted it to go. Due to his beta

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Time's up

NyxCullen?I released a sigh I never realized hung in my chest. Mira ran towards him and held his face with both hands. The warriors didn't stop her, they just let go of him and turned to leave. Before he could crash on the floor, Mira held him by the waist."What happened to you?" She gasped. The pain in her eyes made my heart clench. She kept whispering words to him, and slowly, his eyes blinked open. I didn't know if I should go to her or leave her alone. Either way, tension was already bubbling in my chest."Who did this to you?" She asked. This time her voice held more weight. Cullen opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. The injuries on his body weren't from Kyrell's punches, they were fresh wounds. He was healing slowly, which is surprising for a beta."I can't believe they injected you with wolfsbane." Mira snarled. Wolfsbane? Cullen slowly lifted his head to scan the room, and when his eyes found mine, something flashed across them. Before I could tell what it was,

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Dragged to the hunt

NyxIt's been two days since I got slammed against the wall, but the students won't stop laughing and whispering as I walk to my locker. It doesn't matter if I'm the Beta's daughter or human. Teenagers can be assholes, especially werewolves who believe strength is everything."Hey girl." Mira waves

Nyx I thought I was running but I wasn't. My head was bleeding but I felt the pain in my feet. I found my way to the woods at the back of the school, half falling and walking. The trees shielded me from prying eyes.My mind drifted back to the gold pair of eyes I saw earlier. Or was I imagining th

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Gold Eyes
