Rachael’s POV.

I stood frozen, my eyes locked on the figure stepping out from the trees.

He looked rough his hair was long and messy, his clothes worn and dusty. His face looked tired like life had not been easy.

But even through the dirt and the years, I knew that face. I knew it deep in my bones.

He looked exactly like Heden… my father’s Beta.

The man who had once stood by my father through every battle. Loyal. Brave. Strong.

“Are you…” I started, my voice trembling. “Are you the one who’s been cleaning the graves?”
