Two Pink Lines

The dungeon had a real awful smell.it smelled like piss and blood,mixed with sweats.the chains danced as I dragged myself to the corner.My dress was torn,I had marks on my wrist where the ceremonial chains had been.But that didn’t matter.I wasn’t concerned about it at all.because something else was on my mind.I couldn’t stop shaking.

The two lines…..

I did take the test this morning in the Omega barrack bathroom.I had seen the results but I figured it could be all wrong.I hid the little test in my boot during selection,praying to the moon Goddess that it was wrong but it wasn’t.

“You’re still up”

The voice made me flinch a little.Darian darkthorn stood outside the bars watching me carefully.he wasn’t in his suit this time,just combat black pants and white shirt rolled up to his elbows.he looked like he couldn’t sleep either.

He was staring at my flat stomach.I instinctively pressed my hands as if to protect my pups”how far along?”

I couldn’t look or even speak to him.it was a law.Don’t speak to the Alpha unless spoken to.his brother appeared just behind him.His voice cold when he spoke.his hands behind his back.

“Answer him.How many weeks?”

I leaned back against the cold wall.wincing quietly because of the coldness.”twelve weeks,maybe thirteen…I don’t know I-I’m not sure”I stuttered.Darian too a deep breath,Damon froze on his spot.Twelves weeks.The heat was thirteen weeks ago.”that’s not possible.”Darian spat.”we used protection.”I scoffed.Darian glared at me,once he saw the fear In my eye.He refocus his gaze on his twin brother.

“We were wolves brother”Damon said.serving justice for the first time.”in heat we don’t use protection.Remember?”he stepped closer to the bars,asking the obvious question”Whose are they?”

They.Not it.He knew.he knew I was carrying twins.

“They’re mine alone”I said.surprised that my voice came out stronger than I was.”Not yours”

Damon broke down in laughter.No humor in it just pure mockery and disgust.”you don’t have the rights to Alpha heirs.have you forgotten pack law?”

“Pack law also said you rejected me.”I tried standing even though my legs were shaking.but I stood up anyway.”you rejected me twice…in front of thousands of witnesses.that means you lost your claim on my pups.”I yelled.didn’t mean to but I did.

Darian flinched.Good.I smirked.let it hurt.

“DNA will prove it.”Damon stated.”if they’re ours.we take them as soon as they’re born “I scoffed.

“DNA will prove that I carried them alone.you gave up your rights as fathers the minute you chose Alice over us.”I said angrily.tears running down my cheeks.i didn’t want to look weak but I couldn’t stop the tears either.

The dungeon was silent for seconds.the Darkthorn looked at each other.silently communicating.

After seconds of silence that felt like living nightmare.Darian spoke.Soft.”That night of the heat…..you didn’t want it to happen.we forced you.”it wasn’t a question.Darian seem to have remembered it all.the way their bodies trapped mine against the sacred Oak tree.the way their teeth were in my neck,grazing my skin.their hands in my hair yanking me in both directions as they whispered “mate”.The way they tore my clothes off while I whimpered in pain.they didn’t even give me a chance to shift so I could bare the pain.

“I said no “I whispered.feeling a lamp on my throat as I replayed the scenes of that night.my human mind screamed no.it screamed for help while my wolf mind said yes.it was the Omega law after all to always obey an Alpha in heat.it didn’t matter if you begged.no one will help.nothing will change.They wouldn’t stop.

“You didn’t listen“Damon’s jaw clenched so hard.he’s eyes red.Darian looked away.he always looks away.Coward.

“When the pups are born,I’m taking them away from you.”I said.My gaze fixed on both twins.

“You must be foolish to think we’d allow you to take them.”Damon said through his teeth.

“If I leave them with you,Alice will kill them.”If I leave my pups with them,Alice was bound to kill them because pack politics mattered more than two little bastards.The two Alpha kings will do nothing but watch while my kids perished for the sins of their mother.

Damon grabbed the metal bars with so much force,his veins popping out.”you think we’d let her do that to the pups?”he wanted to say more but one of the guards appeared.

“Great Alphas.Elder Richard sends me to deliver his words.the healer confirmed the pregnancy.she’s carrying Alpha blood.Twins.Hence she dies after giving birth.”

My blood run cold.my breath choked me.I’d forgotten about the execution.about the penalty of the price I didn’t ask to pay.i was going to die.And my pups?no one would protect them when I die.

“Please don’t let them kill me and my babies.i-I’ll serve the Pack without getting a single dime all my life.just-please for my pups sake.”I begged.”i never asked for this to happen.please show me your mercies “I cried like a beggar I was.

I flinched when Darian hit the bars so hard causing it to bend.But his brother was quiet,his expression unreadable.what did I expect?i was just an unwanted mate they mated with when they were in heat and later on disposed off like the trash everyone thinks I am.I am going to die.this is the end.my chapter will finally be closed.

“Unlock it.”Damon said.i looked at him.Trying to decipher what his next move was.was he going to kill me right now in here?right before the pups were born?

“But Alpha the law…”The guard obeyed as soon as he saw the look in Damon’s eyes.he looked ready to kill.The Alpha twins stepped inside.Damon was staring at me like he was going to kill me.I was terrified but I didn’t cower.i was done running and hiding.And if I die right now,I’ll die protecting what’s mine.

I held my breath when Damon leaned closer,he’s eyes never leaving mine.and I instinctively covered my belly with my hands.

“Run”he said.I blinked.Caught off guard .”what?”

“You run tonight.”his voice was with venom but his eyes weren’t cold anymore.”The guards will tell everyone you overpowered them.Everyone will expect us to hunt you and we will but…”he looked at his brother who seemed surprised.Darian nodded.”we won’t find you.Not if you go far.”

“Yes.you can ran to the human cities,change your name ..shorten your hair.I don’t know just do whatever keeps you and the pups alive.”

“Why?”was the only word I managed to whisper after comprehending everything.”why help me after-“

“Because those pups are ours”Darian said.Damon pressed something into my palm,a small silver key.

“Back gate opens at midnight when guards are changing shifts.”he turn,his back on me”you only have eight hours.”

“But pack elde-“

“We’ll handle him.”then they left without a single glance or saying goodbye at least to the pups.they left me standing alone in the dungeon.i stared at the small key in my hand.holding it tight.Afraid to lose it because it was my freedom now.

I only have eight hours to disappear.to save my babies.I must run in order to save us.Alice would kill them,the pack would take them and my fate is death.So I will run.

I waited until the moon was highest. until I couldn’t hear the guards footsteps anymore.Then I used the key.The back gate opened.the forest was wide awake watching me as I ran as fast as I could.

Not once did I look back.I ran to survive.I ran to freedom.leaving behind the rejection and the humiliation.My two mate who rejected me.

I ran as fast as I could one hand on my stomach,the other holding the pregnant test I’d fished out of my boots.indicating the two pink lines.

My two pups who were rejected by everyone and soon will be hunted by everyone.

But we were free.

For now.
