A man from Aiden's unit had just informed me that Joye's first attempt to break the curse had not been successful, and she was yet to return to try a second time. We had barely thirty minutes until the red moon falls, and if she didn’t manage to break the curse within those thirty minutes, then we were doomed to repeat this experience in the next two years.

I was already back in my human form due to exhaustion, and I was losing more strength as I fought off the unending horde of opponents. Although we had managed to keep casualties on our side to the minimum, most of us were already out of energy. This last thirty minutes would be the determining factor of this entire situation.
