Chapter 6: Dinner

Who would have thought that this life is just getting better with my mate keeps rejecting me and I refuse to accept.

Daniella sat in the living room feeling like an obedient child who is ready to perform for their guest.

Cameron and Laura were busy in the kitchen, those two never let her step in there. A few more minutes quarter to 8pm and the doorbell rings

"Daniella can you get the door it must be Alpha Dante" Cameron shouted from the kitchen.

She stood up fixing her floral yellow dress above her knees before opening the door. Again the sight of him took her breath away she tries to smile at him. Dante stood there his eyes roaming her body

"aren't you going to come in Alpha?" His eyes kept on hers she gulp her saliva nervously

"Alp"-

"Dante" someone came from behind him breaking their stares from another one, rudely interrupting her.

She watches her wrapping her arms around him then kisses his cheek.

"Oh it’s good to see you again Ella" she smiles fakely at her

"you too Carla."

Daniella knew Carla from high school not forgetting Alpha Allen's sister. She was a year older than her, they weren't the best of friends they were just strangers from the same school. She cling to his side like her life depends on him.

Daniella could feel her wolf surfacing

"Dani, is everything okay?" Cameron came from behind her.

"Alpha" he nod to Dante yet Daniella was still in the way

"Hey man" scratching the back of his head. "It's been a long time" "yeah nine years now" both men chuckling.

Daniella realizing that she's blocking the doorway she said with a blush "oh I'm sorry Alpha, where are my manners please come in" Dante took a step inside while Carla just stood there.

"It's good to have you here tonight" Cam hug him once again in a brotherly hug.

"Carla"

Dante call back Carla took his hand smiling then walk past Daniella who now hold the door open for them. She let out a big sigh as if she's been holding her breath for too long. Closing the door she turns to follow them

"Oh my moon goddess!" she jumps holding her chest.

"Seriously Cam what the hell? Why are you still standing here?" he didn't seem to hear her. He was totally zone out, Daniella saw Cam's hand in fist, she then snaps her fingers in his face.

"Earth to Cam" he came out from whatever he was thinking of. His body language suddenly relax

"I'm sorry" he apologizes walking towards the kitchen and she follow behind him.

Laura was all smiles and chatting entertaining their guest. She smile to both of them Cam went around kissing her cheek before sitting down.

Daniella sat opposite from their guest, Carla almost sitting on Dante. When their dinner began Carla feed Dante then blushes when he took a bite of. Daniella who was feeling hurt by the sight in front of her watches her food then took small portion of it without looking up to their guest.

"So I heard your kids are grown up Ella. May I ask where are they?" Carla ask politely and Laura burst in to laughter.

"Oh dear Ella since when did you have kids without telling us"

Daniella half smile "I guess when I took your kids out" Carla look at them with confused.

"Oh sorry Carla but Clyde and Holly are our kids not hers,"

"your kids?" Carla ask again.

"Yeah our kids" Cam held up Laura's hand kissing it.

"Oh sorry Ella, is just that rumours went around of you got pregnant and your mate rejected you... I do sincerely apologise"

Daniella wanted to laugh and say the last part was true but instead she says

"it's okay Carla."

Their dinner continues on with small talk. Daniella was like a fifth wheel between the couples. So when they were done she volunteer to clean up the kitchen before heading to the living room. She stood by the door listening in while Dante and Cam chat lively with Laura and Carla on the other side talking then giggling.

"How did you guys know one another" both Cam and Dante turn towards Daniella.

"His sister Zoe was one of our best friend, so she used to bring him along not until he turn fifteen and Zoe kind of move away already"

"Why do I feel like you're not telling me anything other than that" she regret what she says finding it awkward she clear her throat

"sorry but who wants desert?" she tries to smile.

Both Carla and Laura stood up from their seat "oh dear come here, we'll get it" and they were fast to move to the kitchen.

"I'll just head up to my room" and she quickly went up to her room.

She keeps fanning herself when she close the door behind her. She was to open it again but find Dante standing there. He pushes her inside closing the door behind them. She didn't get to utter one word as Dante beat her to it.

"Accept my rejection" he held on to her wrist

"I thought you're"

"accept or I’ll make you pay" he growl at her.

"Carla is going to be my mate she's better than you, so either you accept or you'll regret"

"I'm sorry but I can't not when you didn't give me a good reason."

He sneer at her "what more reason you want huh? I don't see you as a better luna just a trash of a woman who is lower than Alexis and Carla."

He has crush her there again suppressing her tears she hold her voice with stoic

"I can't Dante not when we're not even yet" he chuckle "then good luck with that" and he storm out.

Daniella fell on the ground crying silently, hugging her knees to her chest.

After a while she heard them leave, then she peek out of the window. As if he knew she was watching he grab Carla kissing her one more time before they leave.
