As she stretched her arms up and yawned, the sun’s ray of light gently hit her angelic face. It was the fifth of the month, first day of the week, and Aiesha was beyond thrilled to go to work. Especially at the corporation she’s long been wanting to work.

SRC Weaponry Corp and Conglomerates.

She was currently living in her condo that her parents gave to her as a graduation gift when she graduated college at Edinburgh. Now that she’s lawyer, Aiesha wanted to give back everything that her parents had given her and to be filial to them by achieving more to her upcoming career.

When she was on the way to the corporation that she’d applied, she couldn’t help but to stare at the view of her home country. It’s been ten years. Ten long years that she hasn’t returned because she chose to study abroad and in that years of studying, a lot has changed to her.

She graduated college with flying colors, pursued law, passed the board, and now she’s going to work at one of the most wealthy and prestigious company, not just in the Philippines, but also known across Asia and Europe.

The company that she is yet to be of help.

“Hello, good morning!” pagbati ni Aiesha sa mga security personnel nang makapasok siya ng gusali. She immediately headed to the receptionists in the lobby and asked for the room of her office that they provided her with the moment she got accepted at their Corporate CPA lawyer.

“Attorney! Good morning! Here’s the keycard to your office, it is on the twenty-seventh floor. You are in the same floor as the Chairman, and we highly encourage to be in your best self and to hopefully not run with him. He’s quite terrifying, yet formidable.” the lady who handed her the keycard to her office whispered at the last sentence, making Aiesha confused.

And a terrifying boss is what she least wanted to have.

“Sorry, but… terrifying? I-is the boss that-“

“Janice! Quit talking to Atty. Jimenez! Sorry, she’s also just recent here. Need not to worry, Attorney. Your office is at the very end of the floor, so it’s likely that you’ll run into the Chairman.” singit nung isa sa mga kasama ni Janice na ikinailang natawa ni Aiesha.

But what she doesn’t understand is how her office should be at the same floor as the chairman.

“I apologise again. But how come my office is at the same floor as the chairman? Shouldn’t I be on the legal department-?“

“We were just following orders from the HR head, Attorney.” the lady who stopped Janice to talk to her, interrupted her.

Still wondering and clueless, Aiesha just nodded and thanked them as she headed straight to the elevator.

“Excuse me! Oh, thank god!” it was a guy who rushed to the elevator to join her up. Aiesha just then closed the elevator door when the guy was also inside.

“What floor, Sir? I’ll press it for you.”

“Twenty-sixth floor, Miss. Thank you.”

“Sure.” she chirped and pressed the twenty-sixth button and then the twenty-seventh button. The guy who just entered, saw her pushing the floor that everyone was forbidden in the company to press at.

“W-why are you going up to the twenty-seventh floor?” The guy sounded terrified and even looked pale as Aiesha looked at him innocently.

“That’s the floor where my office is at, Sir. Look, here’s the keycard that the receptionists gave me.” pinakita niya yung keycard na inabot sa kanya ni Janice.

The guy looked at it and refused to believe.

“Hell what? Are they going to feed you to the den of the wolf?” the guy sounded so worried for her that he even placed both of his hands onto his waist.

Mas lalong kumunot yung noo ni Aiesha, hanggang sa tumunog yung bell ng elevator, and the doors slided open. Only to be greeted by a presence in front of them. They still haven’t reached their respective floors yet the elevator stopped at the tenth floor. Kaya nagtataka si Aiesha.

The man’s eyes was as cold as ice. His height was as tall as someone who’s domineering and dominant. A face so striking and charismatic. And a formidable physique and figure that one could get intimidated at just once glance.

Aiesha’s eyes settled on the man infront of her. He was familiar. So… familiar…

“Oh, fuck-“

“Cobalt… get off.” malamig na utos nung lalake na ikinasama ng tingin ni Aiesha.

Kumunot din yung noo niya, wondering who he was to just order people around like that. For Aiesha, even if its the executives, or the higher ups, just because they hold power, they shouldn’t just order the people lower to them just like that. It was rude and unjust.

“I-I apologise… I’ll get off.” the guy, who Aiesha was with in the elevator, got off and ran as fast as he could. As if he was escaping someone. And that someone was the cold arrogant yet formidable man who entered the elevator along with two men behind him.

When the doors inside was closed, and silence took over, Aiesha heavily sighed and didn’t stopped herself to comment. As a lawyer, she was always known to be righteous and just. She speak up for those who are oppressed and rights being taken away by the powerful.

“Excuse me… you know… you can’t just order people around like that.” she fearlessly said to the man beside her. He was tall and domineering. She already faced the most ruthless powerful professional in her years of studying law, and the man beside her was no different.

“And why can’t I?” the voice was daunting.

No… it can’t be him… it can’t be him, right?! Aiesha shook her head as her eyes watered in both fear and realization. “Here’s your caramel macchiato, ma’am. Would you like to add anything else?” the waitress said as she set the drink on the table. But Aiesha remained staring into nothingness. Kumaway na ang waitress sa harap niya, and only then did she snap out of her daze.“Oh, r-right… thank you.”“Sure, Ma’am.” There was no way that the Chairman of SRC Corp… is Shion. It was… haunting her… but differently. Nonetheless Aiesha took her coffee out of the cafe and looked for a restaurant nearby to buy her lunch. But it felt like as if she lost all her appetite because of what happened. No… it can’t be Shion… he’s long gone from my life. She had tried

“A-alright… I apologise to disturb.” nevertheless, Aiesha smiled at him sincerely and just turned her back. She looked up to the person who’d entered with her and just as soon as the doors closed, her eyes widened. It’s the Chairman?“Bold for you to ask my secretary for coffee and lunch, but not me?” tila naiinis niyang tanong na ikinasara ng kanyang bibig. The hell?! Was he eavesdropping just a second ago?!Deeply panicking inside, she tried to remain calm and composed. But she didn’t dare to look at him this time. “I-its you pala, Chairman… I apologise for this morning’s interaction, that I have overstepped my boundaries—I didn’t knew that it was you.” h
