Chapter IV

Deceiver Part 2

Even though I don’t call them ‘sister’ or ‘brother’, I still treat them as my older siblings. The thing is, we’re not connected by blood.

They patted my head. "How are you, Revi?" Ender smiled at me.

"I'm fine." I took a bite of the apple Stellan gave me. "Father went to the ministry again." I looked down. He just always leaves. I know it's his job, he almost had no time for me, we rarely talk.

“That's okay, Revi." I looked up at Vida. "Instead of feeling sad, just understand your father. Perhaps the ministry is talking about your departure from Atolon."

I sighed. "That isn't true." What Vida says is impossible. Those people who were sent to Madreign, no one returned. Ministers would regret sending someone outside again. Although our family has a strong attachment to the ministry, if they don't want to, I have no choice.

Ender tapped me on the shoulder. I looked at him with a frown. He pointed his fingers to the people in front of us. "Look at them, Revi. Look at your surroundings. For sure that none of them want to go outside. If the rumors are real, then you have a big chance to go out." I never answered them anymore.

I really have a big chance, but the problem is that these are just rumors. I have no evidence that itʼs real. I need to wait for Father to go home. That is if I'm still awake whenever he gets home.

"Revi," Vida called me. I looked at them. "Believe in us." I smiled.

I'm lucky to have them. I was lucky by the time I met them. They're the ones who always protect me whenever I’m in danger. No one can change my mind that they’re the best sister and brother. Add the fact that they’re the only ones who support me when I want to get out of this island. They’re the only ones because even my parents are against my desire.

I was stunned for a moment. I remember I forgot to bring my belongings because we’ll go down the river. So I immediately ran back to the house to pick up the bag and go down the river using my horse.

The river is close but I will still ride a horse. They said I was young but that would not stop me from riding the horse. I have tried several times but still nothing happens to me.

"Revi, you're really really naughty." Someone pinched me.

"A-aghh, M-mom!" Mom pinched my cheeks. This is fun, really fun, bruh.

I glared at Vida and Ender. I caught them holding their laughter while watching me. I'm quietly pulling a horse here, I don't want to clean up right now, so please, let me go.

"Mom, what are you doing? It hurts so much!" I touched the left ear she pinched. No jests, it really hurts.

Mom sighed. "I donʼt know what to do with you, Revi." She gazed at the two annoying creatures whoʼs making annoying faces at me. I'm thinking about putting them inside a cannon and throwing them away to the galaxy. "Please continue to guard and protect her." Mom sounded so worried. I'm not a kid whoʼs starting a fight out of nowhere. I donʼt fight for nonsense so she doesn't need to worry. I'm not saying that I'm a good kid. I know that I'm somehow devilish, and people notice it easily sometimes. My psychopathic smirk exposes my identity.

They stopped making faces and smiled genuinely. Mom looked so relieved after that. Now, we had to separate again. Mom said that sheʼll visit her friend in Rajanment, the one and only apartment in this town.

Of course, we immediately went to the river. I rode using my horse and left Ender and Vida behind since they got no pets. That looked mean for them, embarrassed, and annoyed at me. I'm just teasing them back, that's not a foul.

When I'm already near the river, my friends appeared in my sight. The heat welcomed me while approaching Dion. I'm not wrong, this was the perfect moment to take a bath on the river. It's hot enough to cool down a little.

Time passed, we did not only took a bath in the river, we also played afterwards. It was difficult for me because the my friends arent’t in good terms, but somehow, I enjoyed it.

We played a lot, we didn’t even notice that the sun was already setting. I already learned a lesson yesterday, so I didn’t play that much.

This is also Stellan's last day in Rajanseth, tomorrow he will go home to his palace. Others spent their day with Stellan while I didn’t. Father said that we will visit him in the palace often.

"I think you need to go home, Revi." Vida caressed my shoulder. I gazed at her. After playing, I decided to have a walk with Vida and Ender, just the three of us. "The moon will rise soon. It's gonna be dangerous at night."

I gazed at the sky. The sun is still there, but itʼs slowly fading away. My forehead furrowed and looked at the two. "Itʼs safe at night here. What are you saying?" Vida was stunned and didnʼt answer my question.

"What Vida means is itʼs dark. You might fall, Revi," Ender uttered

I nodded and turned around. The sudden change took my breath away. It was just a split second, but I still noticed it. I thought it was just something that flashed in my mind, but it didn't. It felt . . . real, then a pleasant breeze blew.

I calmed myself. I'm just hallucinating, yeah, hallucinating.

I gazed above. My jaw dropped and my eyes widened when I saw whatʼs in the sky. "A-airplanes. . ." N-no, this canʼt be. . . "T-they're here, Ender. Madreign is here."

While the sun was setting down, Madreign oppressed us for the second time.

To be continued. . .
