A Wonderful Night

Gabriel went alone to their grandmother’s big house, where the reunion of their mother’s side families would be held. He was immediately greeted by his Aunt Cora and accompanied by a lady who was about eighteen to twenty years old.

"Did you come here alone, Gab? Where are your parents?"

"They have a lot of work, Auntie," Gabriel answered. "Is she your daughter next to Karen? She's a grown-up now," he noticed the lady next with his Aunt Cora.

"She's my goddaughter, Gab. She's having a vacation at our house. Because your Uncle Henry was also busy with his work, so there's no one left in our house, so I've brought her here. We've been here for a week and we helped organize here at your grandmother's house," Cora said.

Gabriel just nodded in response.

"She's Janet," Cora introduced the young lady to her nephew. "Janet, he's Gabriel. He's the closest cousin of Karen."

"Nice to meet you, Gab," Janet held out her hand to Gabriel and he responded right away and they shook their hands.
