Strange Feelings

After Mondrei announced that he was surrendering to the fight, he hurried out of the battlefield arena and went where the Jones couple was sitting.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience that I gave you," Mondrei said politely to the Jones couple. "And as we agreed, I will never bother Ms. Lany Barnes and leave her in the care of Alpha Jeric. I will not come back here as well to create fear among your members," he added as he slightly bowed down to the couple after he spoke.

"I was wondering what the reason was and you suddenly surrendered against Jeric," Mr. Jones spoke. Reason for Mondrei to look at him. "I doubt it's because of fear that Jeric might beat you and put your life in jeopardy."

"Mr. Jones, you know that I've never been afraid of death," Mondrei replied in a stern voice.

"So, what's the reason?" Mr. Jones continued.

"Am I obligated to answer that question, Mr. Jones?" Mondrei replied while staring hard at Mr. Jones. "Let's just say that it was Ms. Barnes' stares at Jeric that convinced me. Just enough for me to just let them into whatever relationship they're trying to build."

After saying that, Mondrei turned his back on the couple and the moment he did that, he immediately saw Jeric who appeared in front of him, staring at him intently. He just gave him a smile like a dog and then he turned to Mr. Jones again.

"One more thing, Mr. Jones. I just noticed that Ms. Barnes bears a resemblance to Qwayne. And that made me even more excited," Mondrei continued and gave Mr. Jones a smirk.

He then turned his back on the Jones couple again and glanced at Jeric before finally leaving.

He left the camp of the New Moon Pack together with his two soldiers.

"Are you okay, Jeric? There's still blood on your face," Mr. Jones asked, with worries towards his son.

"Y-Yes, Father. I'm fine," Jeric replied immediately. Then he turned his gaze to his mother but she immediately averted her gaze as if she was still sulking at him.

After a while, Chadrick approached them and behind him was Lany who was still hesitant about how she would react in front of Jeric and his parents.

After a while, Mrs. Jones stood up and began to walk away from them without even saying a word.

Jeric just shook his head when he realized that his mother was really upset with him.

"Why is Mother like that? Isn't she even worried about me? Instead of asking if I'm okay, she just simply walked away," Jeric said.

"Don't mind her, Jeric. You know how sensitive she is when it comes to things like this. Especially that Mondrei is involved," Mr. Jones replied as he came closer to his son and slightly tapped him on the shoulder. "It looks like you have a big cut on your lower lip. And you also have bruises on your face. That needs to be treated right away."

After saying that, Mr. Jones turned his gaze to Lany and he even came closer to her.

"Please take care of Jeric. His wounds need to be treated immediately to prevent infections," Mr. Jones said seriously to Lany. "And so as not to leave scars on his handsome face as well."

"Y-Yes, Mr. Jones." Lany was slightly surprised when Mr. Jones approached her to say those words.

"I need to follow my Luna right away. You know, she's hard to deal with when she's in a bad mood," Mr. Jones continued and then he turned his gaze to Chadrick.

"Accompany them to their room, huh. And give Lany the medicines and everything that she needs," Mr. Jones said seriously to Chadrick.

"No problem, Mr. Jones," Chadrick replied immediately.

After that, Mr. Jones said goodbye to his son and then he turned around and quickly walked to follow his Luna.

"Can you explain to me why they're being like that as my parents?" Jeric turned to his friend Chadrick. He's trying to calm the situation down as he knows that the two who are beside him now are very worried about him.

"It's better if we go to your room now so that Ms. Barnes could start treating your wounds," Chadrick replied, still with a trace of worries in his voice.

"Why are you all acting like that? I am completely fine," Jeric replied, still smiling, even though his lips were still bleeding. Then he turned his gaze to Lany. "How about you? Don't tell me, that's how you'll react too."

"P-Please hurry up, Alpha. W-We need to treat your wounds as soon as possible," Lany replied while trying to avoid looking at Jeric's eyes.

Jeric stopped complaining and went to his room. 

And Chadrick immediately took care of Lany's needs for treating Jeric's wounds. And as he finished preparing all of them, he immediately gave them to the omega. When Lany confirmed that she didn't need anything else, he then said goodbye to them and left.

"C-Can you please sit properly, Al-Alpha Jeric? S-So that I can start treating your wounds," Lany said a little shyly.

Jeric immediately followed and after that, Lany started applying alcohol on the parts of his face that had bruises. She was just doing that silently while he was staring at her and watching her beautiful face.

Lany noticed that and she suddenly stopped what she was doing as she felt a little awkward. She's not used to someone staring at her while doing something.

"C-Can you please stop looking at my face," Lany said, still trying to avoid looking at Jeric's eyes.

"S-Sorry. I just... I-I want..." Jeric struggles with saying the words he wants to say to Lany. However, he still finds the courage to say that to her. "I-I forgot to tell you how beautiful you are tonight. As beautiful as the moon above the sky."

Lany's heartbeat suddenly quickened because of what Jeric said. And for some inexplicable reason, she was able to lift her face and look at the Alpha.

Their eyes met and stared at each other for a moment. Her cheeks immediately blushed after feeling strange as she looked at his eyes. And the throbbing in her chest quickened even more.

Then she averted her eyes from the Alpha and tried to suppress the strange feelings developing in her heart.

"I-I heard that you used to be friends with Mondrei." Lany tried to change the course of their conversation to avoid that uncomfortable situation for her.

Jeric was stunned and slightly surprised at how Lany found out about that matter. However, he still tried to act normal in front of her, so as not to cause misunderstanding for keeping his previous relationship with Mondrei secret from her.

"Is it Mondrei who told you about that?" Jeric asked as he immediately thought that it was Mondrei's way to confuse Lany's mind by telling her something about them. It was after he remembered Mondrei's words that Lany would definitely come to him at the end of the day.

"It doesn't matter who told me or to whom I heard about that thing. I just want to know why you kept it secret from me. Y-You know that it's a big deal to me when it comes to Mondrei," Lany replied, although she was hesitant to say those words in front of Jeric, she still forced herself to say that, as she will definitely be bothered by it throughout the night.

"Are you doubting me now?" Jeric asked seriously.

Lany was stunned by Jeric's question. Yes, she's starting to doubt him now. But she's unable to utter those words in response to his question.

She just continued applying alcohol to his wounds and did not speak again.

"I-I know you'll think badly of me when you find out that Mondrei and I used to be friends before. That's why I chose not to tell you about it," Jeric explained. "But I was really planning to tell you when the right time comes."

Lany remained silent and did not respond to Jeric's words. But deep inside, she really wanted to question him for keeping it secret from her. She wanted to express her doubts and even ask the things she wanted to know about him and Mondrei. If he really had something to do with the massacre that happened to their pack. And who exactly that alpha who's also a member of the New Moon Pack and was with Mondrei when they attacked their camp.

She has a strong feeling that that alpha is also highly respected in the New Moon Pack and is also connected to Jeric. But what's the use of asking him all of that, if he will not answer her truthfully. It's better to just conduct her own investigation to find out the answers to those questions.

"Ouch!" Jeric said when he felt a slight pain. This was after Lany pressed the cotton buds with alcohol a little hard on the wound on his lower lip.

"So-Sorry," Lany said immediately.

Jeric noticed that she was not with herself and obviously thinking so deeply. He knew that it had something to do with what she learned about him and Mondrei's past. So he tried his best to calm her mind as he knew that during these moments, she was already starting to doubt him.

"Listen to me, Lany," Jeric said seriously and held the omega on the lower part of her chin and lifted her face. Their eyes met and stared at each other once again.

Lany stopped what she was doing and she couldn't help but stare into his eyes. Why does she feel strange feelings whenever their eyes meet and stare at each other? Why did her doubts suddenly disappear every time she looked at his gentle face and his beautiful eyes?

Jeric couldn't continue what he was going to say when he also felt something strange inside his heart as they stared at each other. Until he slowly brought his lips towards the face of the omega.

And with just one move, their lips will touch each other. They can already feel their breaths hitting their faces. But Lany suddenly avoided the alpha's lips and forced herself to control the strange feelings coming from her heart.

Jeric didn't move from his position even though Lany avoided him. He touched the omega's face again, but this time, it was on her both cheeks using his both hands. And he lifted it towards him again.

"Are-Are you really going to do this, even if you have a wound on your lips?" Although feeling embarrassed, Lany still forced herself to say those words, thinking that Jeric wants to kiss her even though he has a wound on his lower lip.

No answer was given by Jeric. He just continued what he wanted to do instead and gently applied his lips to Lany's lips as he was still holding her on both cheeks.

Lany did nothing and for some inexplicable reason, she slowly closed her eyes and felt Jeric's lips as they touched hers.

But instead of the sweetness of his kiss, what she tasted was the blood coming from the wound of his lower lip. However, she still remained with her eyes closed and just waited for Jeric to remove his lips from hers.

And as he removed his lips, she slowly opened her eyes.

"I've tasted the blood from your wound," Lany said shyly after averting her gaze from the alpha who's in front of her.

Jeric just smiled and didn't respond to what Lany said. Then he grabbed her waist and pulled her body towards him. And he slowly laid her down on the sofa and positioned himself on top of her.

Although Lany was surprised by what Jeric did to her, she didn't complain about it and just let him as her heart was saying that she also liked what he did. She just stared at him as he got on top of her after he laid her down on the sofa.
