LOGINA new update - will they be ready for the next challenge? Ellie xo
Jessica POV It had been a couple days since the attack. It was like we were being tested. The night of the fight and then the waiting. Nobody had let their guard down. We were all on edge, but knew we had to be diligent. We would not risk losing anyone else. We had buried the warriors we had lost. It had been a difficult experience. Knowing these brave men and women had fought for something they believed in, and had lost, was painful for me. I was the root cause of those deaths, and I was struggling to make peace with this reality. As if sensing my thoughts were going dark, Cole took my hand, “You need to move past this, Jess,” he murmured. “I know but it is easier said than done,” I admitted. He smiled sadly at me, as he understood where I was coming from. “Why don’t they just make their next move, for fuck’s sake?” I exclaimed. Carson, Marly and Cole looked up at me in surprsie. “What?” I asked, embarr
Jessica POV “Jessica! Jessica!” I heard as I groggily came back to my body. My head had a stabbing pain in it, and I was trying to remember what happened. I had not opened my eyes yet, but I could hear Cole frantically shouting my name. “Stop yelling,” I murmured. “Open your eyes, beautiful,” Cole said, panic in his voice. I squinted, trying to open my eyes but the light was blinding me. “The light,” I whispered, as I kept my eyes closed. “Okay, try now,” he encouraged. I cautiously opened my eyes and this time there was no light blinding me. I slowly blinked, looking around until my eyes landed on Cole’s. “There you are,” he said softly, as he leaned forward and kissed my forehead. “What happened?” I asked, as I tried to sit up. Cole put his hand on my shoulder, as the doctor continued to check my vitals. “We were hoping you could tell us,” Cole replied. I paused for a moment trying to r
Jessica POV I could feel the tension rising in the waiting area, the longer we were forced to sit with no news. Cole was fuming at the lack of communication from the doctor. I tried to assure both Marly and Cole that Carson would pull through but neither heard me when I spoke. Each lost in their own feelings of loss. I knew I could make a difference, if only I could get past the medical team and directly in to see Carson. As I sat there considering my options, I heard the swish of the doors. I looked up, as Marly and Cole moved to stand in front of the doctors. Two had come out of the operating room. “What is the news?” Cole questioned hopefully. Marly was holding on tightly to Cole’s hand. While I felt a moment of jealousy, I knew she needed his support. And I knew they were only friends. I quickly calmed my wolf and moved to stand with them. Shaking her head, the lead doctor looked at Ma
Cole POV The moment I had feared was finally upon us. We met Carson going down the stairs, “Are Marly and Everly secure?” I questioned. Jessica looked at me confused, as if she was going to make that statement. “They are for now. Marly wants to be fighting with us. I am worried she will defy my wishes and come,” Carson replied. “Who would look after Everly?” Jessica questioned. “She has an Omega with her. I have begged her to stay with our pup. That is all I can do,” Carson stated as he ran with us out of the pack house. “South border … we have rogues at the south border!” came through our mind-link. Carson looked at us, “I will take the south. You take the north,” he said before I could suggest we stay together. “Carson, come with us!” Jessica yelled, but it was too late. He was already lost within the forest. We shifted and kept on our path towards the northern border. As we arrived,
Jessica POV I could feel someone shaking me to wake up. The last I had heard was my scream before I passed out. “Wake up, Jess!” I heard Cole calling out to me, panic in his voice. My eyes slowly opened as I looked around. I was in my bed, my eyes finding Cole’s. “What happened?” I questioned, as I sat up and felt my body for wounds. “You were having a nightmare,” he shared as I looked at him in surprise. “It felt so real,” I mumbled, as I pushed the blankets off my body and stood beside the bed. As if not believing it, I looked to where the wounds should have been still feeling a lingering pain in the spots where I had been wounded. “Is Grayson back?” I asked, uncertain why I felt the need to speak with him. He was the most predominant individual from the dream and he had told me something; something I needed him to confirm. “I believe he just got in an hour ago, why?” Cole asked as I moved to put some clothes
Jessica POV We went about our days as the deadline for the battle came and went. We were becoming complacent in training. I feared we had trained hard for nothing. Grayson remained at the pack, although he had duties beyond us and had to come and go around his schedule. This was one of those times he was away. We had finished our training session, with the warriors going home exhausted once again. I worried that they were growing tired and would not be ready to fight when the time came. Cole and I had just settled into bed when the first sound of alarm came through our pack mind-link. “We are being attacked at the north border! Attacked at the north border!” we heard in alarm. We jumped from our bed and took off downstairs, as we met Carson on the stairway. “Is Marly secure with Everly?” I asked, as we raced towards the front door of the pack house. “Yes, much to her anger. She wants to be
Jessica POV I stand there in complete shock. I did not know what had come over me, but the man was flung against the wall and a blade was sticking out of his chest. Where did the blade come from? How had I managed to toss him across the room by lifting my hand?
Jessica POV “I cannot do that,” I murmured, shock taking over my body. “There is no choice. You must,” the Elder countered. I shook my head, “He has information about my mother. I need that information,” I said, looking to Cole for help. He nodded reluctantly.
Jessica POV As we entered the dungeons, I could not contain my disgust. The smell took my breath away. I was so distracted by the scent, I did not realize we were already standing before the Rogue King’s cell. He was sitting in the center of the cell, cuffed to a steel chair
Cole POV It bothered me that Jessica thought she had to thank us for coming for her. It worried me that she did not understand how valuable she was too me. I realized I had my work cut out for me. Showing her how much she means to me, while also dealing with the seemingly en
