تسجيل الدخولJessica POV
As tears filled my eyes, I quickly pulled my dress up and secured the neckline. I did not look at my father, nor the man who would be my chosen mate. I was nauseous and could not guarantee I would not vomit on both of them for what I had endured.
My father wrapped his hand around my arm. I could feel him bruising me, but it did not matter. I knew my purpose at being here was over and that we would be on our way out of here. The old Alpha left the room first, leaving me with my bastard of a father.
“You did well. Be sure to be that docile with the man when you marry him,” my father spit out. I was bitter at his words, but could not help begging him, “Please do not do this,” I started to say when he cut me off. “This is all you are good for. You will do this for our pack, and you will accept your fate. Nobody else would want you,” he responded, as tears rolled down my cheeks.
“Wipe your tears, we are leaving,” he said, as he tugged me towards the door. I did my best to wipe my tears as he pulled me outside into the main hall. “What do we have here?” I heard from behind us. I felt my father’s body tense as he tightened the grip on my arm.
He turned, and plastered a smile on his face, “Alpha, it is good to see you,” he responded. I glanced quickly to the man before us who was stunning. He was a gorgeous man, like nothing that I had seen before. “And who might this be?” he asked politely. My father’s body remained tense as he replied.
“This is my daughter, Jessica. Jessica, this is Alpha Trent,” he said as I looked briefly at the man. He held out his hand to shake mine. I knew my father would hate this, but I had no choice but to accept his hand. His hand quickly engulfed mine. While I knew it was a stretch, I had hoped I would feel sparks with this man. But I felt nothing.
I quickly released his hand, as my father nodded to the Alpha, “It was good to see you again; we should meet soon to discuss our continued alliance,” he said to the man. The man simply nodded, seeming to speculate what was going on between my father and me.
“Of course. Another time,” the Alpha responded before walking away. A part of me wanting to scream for help, but I knew it would be useless. These people knew a different man than I knew. My father was well respected by other packs. We were not the largest pack, but he ran a tight ship, and that was considered something in our world.
We turned to walked towards the door when the Luna stepped in front of us. “My dear, you look upset,” the Luna stated sharing genuine concern. “I apologize Luna, my daughter has taken ill,” my father said as he tried to walk around the Luna. “Oh my, please let me call our healer to look at her,” she replied as my father held up his hand, stopping her.
“That is not necessary. She takes these spells on occasion. She needs rest and then she will be fine,” my father responded. The lies managed to slip through his lips with ease. “Well, if you are certain,” the Luna stated uncertainty crossing her face.
“I am certain,” my father said, rudely cutting the Luna off. He pivoted me and walked me out the door without a second glance back. As we arrived at our car, he whipped me around, slapping my face. “You just could not wait to embarrass me, could you?” he yelled, as our driver opened the door for my father to shove me in the car.
I felt the turmoil inside of my body, as I knew what was to come. Before the door shut, my father was attacking me inside the car. All I could do was cower in the seat, as I accepted my fate.
Cole POV I met up with Carson and Marly; expectant looks on their faces. “Where is she?” Marly asked tentatively. I shook my head, “She left before I could find her,” I admitted. “She could not have known you were here,” Marly assured me, concern on her face. “I do not think she knew either,” I admitted. “I smelled her scent of jasmine, but I smelled fear more so,” I shared with both of them. “Fear?” Carson asked, concern in his voice. “Fear. And it was rampant,” I confided in them. “We have to find her,” Carson stated, Alpha mode ready to take over. “I have no idea where to start looking,” I said, a wave of uneasiness rolling over me. “Let’s go speak with the host Alpha. He will know which packs had been invited. You can start there,” Carson suggested. Of course, the Alpha would know who had been present, and I would be able to track her down through that knowledge. We went directly to the Alpha, re
Cole POV After waiting impatiently for our Alpha Carson and Luna Marly, it was agreed we would head off to the gala rather than waiting for them. We parked our vehicles on the other side of the pack grounds as the main parking area was already full. We walked towards the gala, as I heard the buzz of excitement among our pack members. “I smell something,” I heard from different people. I smiled as I heard my wolf yawn, waking up. “She is here,” he said, before laying his head down on his front paws. He was as eager to meet his mate, as I was to meet mine. My pace quickened as the pack followed me towards the entrance. There I caught the scent of jasmine filling my senses. I quickly greeted the host Alpha and Luna before walking into the hall and searching for someone who would be searching for me. I walked slowly through the hall, finding the scent getting stronger towards the back of the dancefloor. I sto

Jessica POV I walked slowly inside the room that had been allocated to me. We were staying at the pack house so my father, the Alpha, could keep a close eye on me. If we had been in a hotel, I might have been able to escape or at least avoid him. He had made me come to this farce of an event. He had already sold me off to an older Alpha, so I had no idea why he had dragged me here. Actually, I did. For appearances. He wanted everyone to believe he was a generous and kind Alpha who cherished his daughter. I knew differently. The scars on my back told the tale of my childhood and upbringing. The pain I still felt from my recent beating was a constant reminder of my life. Without my wolf, healing took longer for me. A painful side effect of not having your wolf’s healing abilities. I bitterly started to get ready for the Gala. I heard a rap on my door before my father walked in. There was no such thing as personal spa
Cole POV “Go ahead without us; we will meet you there,” my Alpha, Carson, stated through our mind-link. I chuckled at the Alpha, knowing he was taking advantage of private time with his Luna, Marly. I was excited about attending the spring Gala, and more importantly, looking forward to the possibility of finding my second chance mate. I had avoided the galas for a few years now. Having been rejected by my fated mate who was wanting to mate with an Alpha, I had buried the pain and kept it to myself that I had been rejected. Marly, being a healer, had stumbled upon my secret during a healing session. I had not wanted anyone to know as I was humiliated at being rejected. At the time I was a Gamma. I had recently been promoted to Beta for our pack, the Full Moon Pack. I was proud of the promotion and hoped it would be a step in the right direction for my second chance mate … provided I got lucky enough to be given one.
Jessica POV I heard the whistle of the silver whip hit after it hit my back. I did my best to hold in my scream of pain, but I could not hold back the whimpers. I was tied to the punishment post … or rather my punishment post as the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack taunted me over the years. I had been late serving meals to the warriors, and that had warranted another beating. I had been punched and kicked by the warriors for the infraction. The Alpha did not feel that was enough. I felt the tears tracking down my cheeks, but I knew the more I showed my pain, the more punishment would be forced on me. I could not help the scream that escaped my lips as the whip met its mark. The Alpha had been intentionally hitting me in the same spots, ensuring to leave additional scars on my already criss crossed back of scars. I had been beaten for years, over ridiculous things. The sad part was the Alpha was my father.
