CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Her parents didn’t care about her. They never had time for her. All they would do was make sure she had everything she wanted; everything but their comfort, presence, and care. That was all she ever wanted from them but she never got it. 

Neither did she have friends. All the young girls of Uji village hated her. They said she was proud, hardheaded, mean and to top it all, spoilt. The real Courtney wasn’t any of this. She was a sweet loveable girl looking for someone to talk to. 

Someone to befriend but no one knew this Courtney. The only Courtney they knew was the cruel and disrespectful girl. She couldn’t change that now, but she wished that maybe luck will shine on her. 

The group of four children left her front, walking away. They felt Courtney’s eyes on them and it made them walk unnatural.
