My name is Dakota Lorenzo, and I was born into the Mountain Top Pack, but I am not a member of it; to them, I had an unknown bloodline, as I did not know who my father was, and that made me a rogue. They had wanted me expelled, to be left to die across their border; a helpless newborn was an easy target for any predator, but the Alpha did not have it in him to abandon a tiny, premature baby to the fates. He chose to let me live because my mother was the Pack Healer, and she made it clear that if he forced her to choose between his Pack and her newborn daughter, then she would walk away. A Pack cannot function properly without its Healer. The Mountain Top Pack needed my mother more than she needed them, so he backed down and allowed me to stay under the Pack's protection as long as my mother did not let caring for me interfere with her duties to the Pack as its Healer. I was an unwanted complication in her life, and she was warned to keep me away from the Pack, which was easy for her to do as we lived far away from the main Pack by the border.

The Pack's Patrollers were supposed to keep an eye on us as we lived so close to the border; we were a target for any rogues or humans sniffing around the Pack. They were ordered to check on us every time they passed through the small valley we lived in, and at first, they did as the Alpha instructed, but when a nearby farm lost its male provider, the widow and her four adult daughters quickly took advantage of the situation. They enticed the Patrollers into their farmhouse and gave them the kind of 'workout' that kept them coming back for more.

The Patrol Leader was Reuben, one of the two Beta's sons. In his Patrol were the Alpha's twin sons, Damon and Drake; they were a few years younger than him, and he was training them for the future roles as Leaders of the pack. They all acted like they could do anything they wanted, and truth be told, they could; they were Pack Royalty, and that meant everyone had to bow their heads and be subservient to them. Of course, they took advantage of their high status. As soon as they became mature adult Werewolves,  they had perfect muscled bodies and stunning good looks that had the human females falling at their feet. They tried it on with my Mama, she was a pretty brunette, and they believed, because she did not have a mate, she was fair game for their interest. She put them in their place very quickly, and because she was the Healer, they had no choice but to back off; they hated her for rejecting them and turned their displeasure on me. Whenever they did pass our small cottage, they took sadistic pleasure in hurting me, a sly kick, a cuff to the ear, but their worst trick was locking me in the small shed we used to store wood in the winter. It was dark, full of creepy crawlies, and only big enough to stuff a tiny child into it. I lost count of the times I cried and screamed for my Mama while they stood around laughing at my fear, only moving when she hurried from wherever she had been to belatedly rescue me. There was nothing she could do to stop them. If she told the Alpha, they would only make things worse for her, and by that, I mean the worst for me. They told her simply how easily a small, adventurous child like me could get lost forever in the woods surrounding our home; it was a direct threat, so all she could do was warn me to hide whenever they came around.

I tried, I really did, but I was an innocent two/three year old, bright and intelligent and fascinated by the world around me. Mama had taught me to fend for myself as soon as I could walk because she knew she would not always be around to look after me; her duties as a Healer took her away from me for hours and sometimes even days. I needed to learn to survive alone as quickly as possible, so she could not be accused of letting caring for me interfere with her role as the Pack Healer. By the time I was two, I pretty much fended for myself, young in human terms, but I was clever, much more advanced than any human child that age. Unfortunately, my innate curiosity made me forget that the Patrollers would hurt me if they caught me, and I wandered right into their path far too often.  Mama tried to be patient, tried to instil in me a fear of them, but even she began to stop comforting me and tell me off when she had to rescue me yet again.

So, how did I come to be living with the Alpha and Luna eighteen years later?

It was simple. I was four years old and happily playing in my 'secret' place, hiding from the Patrollers who, unbeknownst to me, had already passed us by to enjoy the delights of the widow and her daughters. They had not checked the area around our small valley, so intent on their own selfish pleasures, they had not even scented the Rogues waiting patiently for the chance to strike.

By the time the dust settled over their huge mistake, my Mama was brutally raped by the Rogues and left to die, and by the time Reuben and his Patrol realised what they had done, they knew they would be in serious trouble. So they shifted the blame to me, a frightened, confused four-year-old who could not understand why the very people who should have protected and comforted her betrayed her so horribly.

The girls clustered around me, exhausted and frightened, wearing only their underwear, some of them holding others up. I did not ask the obvious; these girls were not alright, and after what I had suffered, I knew they were living in a nightmare, and I had to get them out of it.'Follow me.'I told them, heading toward the stairwell, ignoring the fighting going on around me. Opening the door, I ushered them through and told them to head up the stairs, pointing to the exit door visible through the top door. They did not hesitate, helping those more traumatised than the others, they moved en masse upwards, and I waited until everyone of them got through it and out into the fresh air. When the last girl went through, I turned back into the melee behind me. I had to make sure no other Shifter remained trapped in this hell, so I dropped down onto all fours, shifting into Eclipse and allowing her to use her senses. We padded around the edge of the fighting, keeping to the shadows while scen

The fighting is intense as we make our way through the laboratories. The humans had thrown a huge army into guarding them, such was the secrecy of the work they did. Most of the human race was completely oblivious to what was going on behind these huge concrete walls. The dreadful experiments on living creatures, aimed not to help humankind but to cause as much pain as possible to the Supernaturals, and to find ways of taming them and if that was not possible, killing them. This is why we had to destroy them completely.'Alpha, there's a group of their Elite Soldiers ahead, holding down an area the size of a football pitch, must be something important.'Liam mind-linked me, and I moved ahead, crouched on my belly, ears pricked and listening to their chatting. They were so dumb, having no real concept of the Beings they were fighting, to my way of thinking, they were cannon fodder, given orders to fight to the death to help their fellow humans. In reality, they never stood a chance, a

I step back from the body of the 'Professor', dropping his head to the floor and turning to look at the four other humans working on their computers. They are all frozen, still in shock and fear as they stared at me, a huge, blood-soaked, silver Werewolf looking for more fresh blood. Growling from deep in my chest, my paws tip tap on the marble floor as I move toward the nearest male. He is so frightened that he cannot move, so removing his head from his shoulders is far too easy and instantly the other three begin to panic. I stand watching them run around, unable to find their way out of the secure room, tripping over themselves and each other as their fear of their upcoming fate makes them even fight each other. I walk calmly into the middle of the room and wait, knowing I don't even have to chase these foolish creatures. One by one, their panic makes them run directly at me, arms flailing and screaming their anger and fear, trying to attack me. With barely any effort, I dispatc

Carter woke me up after only a couple of hours. I was surprised I had drifted off but my body had been exhausted so it was hardly a shock that it had given up on me when it had the chance. 'Alpha, the Leaders of the other Shifter Realms are arriving.'He told me and I jumped to my feet running my fingers through my thick black hair trying to tame some of the wild curls that hang down past my shoulders. 'Where are they?'I yawned and then shook my head pushing away the remaining vestiges of sleep.'Time to find my mate.'I think, as I headed to the centre of the area we had cleared for this meeting.Standing waiting to greet me are two huge golden haired men,'Thank you for coming.'I rach out me hand to the twin Princes who wil one day take over the Pridelands, their father had defeated the previous King who had allowed his sons to violate my mate. All three had been slaughtered when King Mufasa had decided their arrogance and bragging about how they were going to be Kings of all th

It took me a long time to come around. Whatever he had drugged me with kept me sluggish and unresponsive for hours, but I did become conscious long before I could actually do anything about my situation.I listened, though. He was talking to someone, and he was telling whoever it was about me. Everything about me.What he had done. What he had given me.How he had drugged me.My foggy brain kept repeating one thing.'Why does whoever was on the other end of the conversation want to know so much about my capture? It was a few hours later when the fog finally cleared, but I remained still, letting the 'Professor' think I was still under the influence of the drugs. I was waiting for him to get close to me, and then he would discover the mistake he had made.He did not know how fast I could shift, and Eclipse was ready and waiting to give him a taste of her kind of justice.I heard the 'Professor' approaching, and Eclipse tensed, ready to shift, but he was not alone. My men bring the Janitor out to me and he looks terrified, with good reason, I am furious with his betrayal of our children and what it has led to. 'Take him back to the Pack House and prepare him for questioning.'I tell them and then walk across to the Principal who is chatting to Matty. Both men bow their heads respectfully when I reach them.'Alpha?'Matty questions and I turn to the Principal raising an eyebrow,'What can you tell me?'He swallows a couple of times and thens sighs deeply.'He came on the recommendation of one of our teachers, he's her brother, a recovering drug addict, so she said.'He stopped talking and ran his hands through what little hair he had left on his almost bald head.'I thought I was helping the guy, you know?' He groans and shakes his head.'I'm so damn sorry.''Please, tell me what you know?'I order him and he bows his head again.'Of course, Alpha. He was blackmailed from what his sister has told me.
