POV Ruby
I shook my head and walked out of the theater. Of course I had noticed Wolf lurking toward the back of the lobby after we walked in to get our tickets. I was expecting this. He was so sadly predictable. I sighed as I looked for my friends. I realized that the movie they were in wasn't out yet so I sat in the lounge and waited. Of course, Wolf followed me and sat next to me.
"So you figured that out, huh? Why did you let me sit with you anyway?" He asked and I chuckled.
"I wanted to see if there was anything of the boy I used to know still in there." I explained and he frowned.
"So? What's the verdict?" he asked after a pause.
"I'm not sure but I'm beginning to lose hope" I replied softly. I wasn't prepared to see the sad look pass over his face. It disappeared quickly and he shook his head.
"Hmm..." He replied and I smirked.
"Oh... I hit a nerve!" I teased with my eyebrows up. He rolled his eyes. He looked like he was about to snap at me but stopped himself.
After a breath, he replied, "I really am sorry for last night... and for following you today. I've missed you Rue". I nodded but didn't believe a word he said.
"Ok, how about this? I forgive you and we let all this go? We're going to be at the same school this year and I hate drama. I'll leave you alone and you leave me alone." I tried. I knew that it probably wasn't going to happen but hey, a girl can dream. I saw by the look on Wolf's face that he had other plans as soon as I finished talking.
He nodded but I saw the evil look in his eyes. Thankfully, Scarlett, Cassy and Don came up to us right then.
"Hey, Ruby! Who's your frien... oh!" Don exclaimed as Wolf turned to them.
"What are you doing here?" Scar spat and Cass just glared at him.
"Ruby and I just happened to run into each other before the movie. Isn't that funny?" he asked without a smile.
"So funny." Cassy deadpanned.
"Let's go." I said and grabbed the girl's arms and pulled them towards the door with Don following after.
"I'll see you later, Rue!" Wolf called out, making it sound more like a threat than anything. I shook my head and kept walking as I flicked him off.
"What was that?" Cass asked.
"He followed us and sat next to me during the movie" I explained the rest of our interaction in the car.
"That guy is seriously creepy." Don replied and Cassy shook her head.
"I don't trust him. He's so dark now. The Riders have made him evil." Scarlett spoke up and I nodded.
"Yeah, I see it now. It's too bad. He was such a good guy before. I wonder why he's like this now?" I lamented. Cassy hugged me and I sighed.
"I'm just going to have to stay away from him from now on." I promised as we pulled up to the restaurant for dinner.
"We'll help you!" Don added and the girls both agreed.
POV Wolf
I stared after Ruby as she walked away. This girl was tough but I knew that I would win in the end. I would have her and then destroy her. I had to. I couldn't watch her with anyone else. It made my blood boil to see her last night with that other guy. Later, when Jackal commented on how hot she was, I almost beat the crap out of him. Foxy and Hound had to hold me back. Jackal was still pissed at me.
I sighed and walked out to my bike. I needed to go talk to my Dad. He would know what to do. I quickly rushed to the and Den nodded at my 'friends' as I walked back to my Dad's office.
"What's up, boy?" he asked as I walked in.
"I need a plan" I began. Then I told the whole story to him. He asked a few questions but just listened to the whole thing.
"So Cherry and her girl are back, huh?" he grinned when I finished. I nodded and he thought.
"You know, Cherry is still technically a Rider. She abandoned us when she met and married Dale. It broke my heart, I loved that woman. The only thing that saved her was that husband and the fact that the Riders were banished to the South side. Now that we've expanded to the North side and her husband is gone, I can't believe that she thought she would be safe to move back here. She's on our land now. Her and her wife and two daughters." he began and we both grinned.
"I think that we need to remind her that she belongs with us. So does her daughter." he finished and we began to plan.
POV Ruby
Dinner with Cassy, Scarlett and Don was fun. Don was quickly becoming close with both Cassy and I. I was happy to see Cass and Scar getting even closer than they already were. Cassy and I decided to invite Scarlett and Don to sleep over that night after checking with my Mom. We ran by both Don's and Scarlett's houses so they could get some things and then went to our house.
"Mom! We're home! Silvia!" I called as we walked in.
"We're in the kitchen!" Silvia yelled back. We found them sitting at the kitchen table, drinking coffee. Cassy and I hugged them and they greeted and hugged Scarlett as well. We introduced them to Don and they seemed excited to meet him.
"So? How was the party and everything from today?" Mom asked afterwards.
"It was good, aside from how much Sam and Wolf have changed" I replied and Mom looked at me with alarm.
"Wolf? Varg's son?" she asked and I nodded.
"I thought that you two had lost touch?" she asked.
"We had and I'm beginning to understand why" I answered and she nodded.
"He's bad news, Ruby. Stay away from him. Varg was awful at that age. He got me roped into all sorts of terrible things back then. I know that you are so much smarter than I was then." Mom warned.
I knew that she and Varg used to date in high school. She was a rebel back then and a member of the Riders. My Dad made sure to tell us all about it but she never brough it up since my parents split. I think that she just didn't want Cerise and I to make the same mistakes she did. She told me that she always felt lucky to get out of that situation and Riders when she did. Varg didn't make it easy for her to leave. She always seemed a bit sad about the situation though. A few times she seemed to hint that it wasn't her choice to leave but I didn't find out until later why. Now I knew why it had to happen.
"Don't worry, Mom. I thought that Wolf was the same as when I left. I realize now that I was wrong" I assured her sadly. She gave me a sympathetic smile and squeezed my hand. I smiled at her weakly. I really was saddened by the outcome of the two boys that I had cared for in my childhood.
After that sad interlude, the rest of the night was great. Silvia and Mom hung out with us and made cookies. We watched scary movies and ate tons of junk food. It was the perfect sleepover.
"I love your family." Don gushed to Cassy and I as we settled down to sleep in Cassy's room.
"Thanks! We do too!" I replied.
We got up the next morning and Scarlett and Don went home after Mom made us breakfast. Cassy and I spent the rest of the day getting ready for our first day of school. We finished unpacking our stuff. We set up our bags with school supplies and helped each other set out perfect outfits for the morning. Mom and Silvia finished unpacking the rest of the house and by the time evening rolled around, we were all set to begin our new lives in Rose Hills. Mom made us roast chicken with veggies and potatoes for dinner and we chatted as we ate.
"Are you excited about your new job?" Cassy asked my mom.
Mom grinned and replied, "I am! It's kind of a new old job for me though. I worked at this paper after I graduated and until Cerise was born. I'm excited to see how it's changed." I grinned at her.
It was nice to see her so happy. A job she liked, a wife who cared about her, a loving family. These are all things I knew that she always wanted. After the my parents marriage and everything that happened, she didn't think that it was possible. She fought her way back though and I was so proud of my brave, strong mother.
We finished dinner and cleaned the kitchen together. Just as we were about to go watch some tv before bed, the doorbell rang. Curious, we all followed my mom to answer it. She looked through the peep hole.
"Shit" she mumbled and I exchanged a worried look with Cassy. Mom opened the door to reveal Varg and several other large, black leather clad men. As I looked closer, I recognized Jackal, Hound and of course, Wolf.
"We thought that we should welcome our sister back home!" Varg boomed.
"Crap" I said and Wolf smiled at me.
POV Ruby"We thought that we should welcome our sister back home!" Varg boomed. "Crap" I said and Wolf smiled at me. I looked over and Cassy and Silvia. They both looked as worried as I felt. "Varg." Mom sighed. "In the flesh." he grinned. "Sorry to stop by unannounced but when Wolf here told me you were back we just wanted to welcome you and let you know that you and your family are always invited to come get a drink at the Den. We still see you as under the protection of the Riders. I know you left us but you still have a place with us if you ever want it." Varg went on to say as he handed my mom a plant. Mom looked confused but then smiled. "Thank you, Varg. I would invite you in but the house is a mess" she replied and he nodded. "We understand. Moving is a pain. Wolf and I just wanted to say hi and introduce or reintroduce you and your family to some of the guys. In case you run into any problems or need anything." Varg explained. "This is Jackal, Hound, and my son Wolf. C
POV RubyI giggled with Don and Cassy as we walked through the halls to our first class. I glanced over at Scarlett and noticed that she looked worried."What's wrong?" I asked her."Did you see how upset he looked?" she asked and I shook my head."Not really, why? Don't tell me that you feel bad for him" I replied."Of course not. He just looked so mad. It was a little scary" she explained."I think that you should stop messing with him and just avoid him for a while. He's dangerous" she added.I shrugged and said, "Alright. I'll try but only for you" I gave her big eyes and she laughed at me. I hugged her and she hugged me back."I'm so glad that you're here. I missed you so much" she said."I missed you too." I replied. We walked into our class and sat together next to Don and Cassy. The rest of the morning went well and soon it was lunchtime.POV WolfI was annoyed. First by what Ruby had the guts to say to me this morning and again because she was ALWAYS with one of her friends.
POV RubyI didn't like the way that Wolf was looking at me. He looked deep in thought and it made me nervous. He shook his head and then looked at me. I swear that all the anger and rage left his eyes and was replace with something else. Something that I used to see in his eyes when we were kids. I gasped in confusion. I felt unnerved and I wished that he would go back to looking angry. This new look was scary and made me uncertain. Suddenly, I felt a large hand on my shoulder and Wolf looked up at someone behind me. Immediately his eyes changed to anger but I knew that it wasn't directed at me for once. I turned and was met with Sam standing over me and Pete behind him."Hey, Ruby!" Sam said, keeping his hand on my shoulder. I looked at Cassy and she glared at him. All the conversation at our table stopped and everyone looked at us."Hi, Sammy. What's up?" I asked, trying to keep the smile on my face even though I really didn't want him to touch me. I moved my shoulder in an attempt
POV RubyTrigger Warning violence, harassment, threat of sexual assault, Homophobia"That was quite a performance" someone said from a dark corner as I hurried back into the gym. I looked to see who was speaking."Chad? Is that you?" I asked and was unnerved. Chad and I were never friends. I never trusted him and Scarlett had told me all the awful things he had done in the last years."Ruby. What happened to you? You used to be so sweet and pure. Now look at you, making out with your sister in front of the whole school." he said in a voice laced with venom. As he spoke he walked closer to me.I shrugged, trying to not to show how nervous I felt. I scanned the dark hallway but it was deserted. I tried to figure out if anyone would hear me if I screamed but I realized that we were too far and the gym was too loud."It was just a kiss, I would hardly call that making out" I smiled trying to joke. He glared as he grabbed my arm."I don't know what it was like in New York but here in Rose
POV WolfI was nervously waiting in the hall for Ruby with Hound, Foxy and Jackal."What happened to you guys? You all disappeared. Ruby and Cassy both made the squad." Don asked as he walked toward us. The others looked at me and I shook my head slightly."Just some club business..." Hound covered but Don looked suspicious."Is it ok if we all go to the Spot with you and the girls to celebrate?" Hound asked to change the subject."I'll have to check with my ladies but it's ok with me... as long as you all behave." he added looking at me. I nodded and he seemed to relax then.I checked my hands to make sure that I had gotten all the blood off them and then I did the a quick scan of the rest of me and my crew. I didn't want Ruby to see anything that would bother her. I rolled my eyes. I sounded whipped already. When I saw Ruby's scared face and heard what Chad did and was going to do, I almost broke. In that moment, I realized that Ruby meant way more to me than any other girl had. I w
POV RubyI thought as we drove to The Spot. I was more uncomfortable with Wolf than I ever was before. At least before, I knew where we stood. Now, I don't know. I'm not sure if he's being authentic or if this another trick. Either way, I was going to keep my distance. Of course, I'm not sure how to do that now that most of his friends were dating my friends and we were going to the dance together. We pulled up at The Spot and I quickly jumped off his bike and tried to walk to the door but Wolf grabbed my hand before I could. He smirked as he slowly got off the bike and kept a hold of my hand as we walked across the parking lot. I tried to wiggle out of it but it didn't work."What are you doing?" I whispered to him. He pretended to look confused and stopped."What do you mean, baby? We're just going to The Spot to meet our friends" he rose his eyebrows."Why are you holding my hand?" I hissed. He grinned, "Because I meant what I said before. I want you and I get what I want" He start
POV WolfThe next morning Foxy, Jackal, Hound and I arrived at the school together. We chatted about the events of the night before as we got off our bikes and walked into the school. "Ruby seemed kinda pissed when she left last night." Foxy said to me. I smirked remembering how the red head glared at me after paying and stormed off to Scarlett's car with Cassy."Cassy was mad too." Hound added and Jackal frowned. "So?" I asked. Foxy sighed and shook her head."So, if you want to be with them, don't you think pissing them off is the wrong way to do it?" Foxy asked, annoyed. I shrugged."Maybe but I'm not going to just do everything she wants. You know me, I'm not made that way" I explained."Plus she's sexy when she mad." I smirked."You are hopeless." Foxy shook her head and walked off to her locker with Hound.I looked at Jackal and shrugged. He chuckled and we went to our lockers and then to the student lounge. Hound and Foxy met us at the door. We walked in and spotted Ruby, Sca
POV RubyThe next couple of days flew by. We had cheer practice that went surprisingly well and then the next day we left school as soon as the bell rang to go find dresses for the dance. I was happy that I had been able to avoid Wolf most of the day. We still had lunch with him but Cassy and I were careful to sit so he and Jackal couldn't be near us. We also made sure to bring up Mac as much as possible. Jackal looked pissed most of the time. Wolf looked livid.Cassy still wasn't sure what she was going to do about Jackal. Deep down, I think that she kinda liked him but she didn't like how possessive he was. In reality, she hated commitment almost as much as I did, she just wouldn't admit it. She was always on the verge of getting serious with someone when she would find a flaw and end things over it.Don, Foxy, Cassy, Scarlett and I all piled into Scarlett's car after school. Foxy looked nervous but the rest of us were excited. Well, with the exception of me. I wasn't excited about
