“Get dressed, Miss Helena. Alpha Louis said he will tour you around the place right now,” Anna said when she went into her room with a box in her hand.

For the days that Louis was snubbing her, letting her do anything she wanted, and even not talking to her sometimes, she was shocked to know that he was now trying to do something with her.

When she opened the box, she immediately realized that they would ride a horse because of the clothes that were given to her. She immediately wore it, and Anna helped her braid her hair on both sides. She also wore black boots, and she was stunned to see herself in the mirror and how good it looked to her.

“Seems like Alpha Louis is now making time for you. It’s good that he is now trying to acknowledge your presence, Miss Helena,” Anna conversed.

Anna has been her friend in the mansion since they would constantly converse about Alpha Louis, and she has been a good help to her to know him better.

“He’s such a snob, and he seemed too intimidating. He seems like he is not happy to see me sometimes,” she whined to her when she remembered how Louis’ brows would knit if he saw Helena.

“He’s really like that, but you just need to be a little more patient since Alpha Louis doesn’t really interact with girls. He’s also not linked to anyone, and even his own grandfather is stressed about pairing him because he immediately declines the offer,” Anna said while she is now spraying perfume on Helena.

“Really? He never invited a woman here to…live with him?”

Anna shook her head. Everyone knows in the mansion what kind of man Louis is. He is not too open with the girls, and he is not so easily interested that a lot of women find him more attractive because of his coldness. No one has dared to pique his interest, and even his own bloodline was having a hard time pairing him.

“His mother has been pairing him with different girls in the past, Miss Helena. Even his own father was eager to introduce him to other girls, but it was Alpha Louis who always declined. That’s why when it was his own grandfather who requested, who would sometimes tell him that it was already his last request, maybe it was the reason why he acknowledged it because it has a different meaning now.”

Helena then feels empathy for Louis’ grandfather because she failed to give her own grandfather’s last wish before he died. It was her own greatest wish that she could have fulfilled his wish before he passed away because he was the only one who treated her differently. She lost someone who was dear to her.

And knowing that Louis somehow has a soft side for his grandfather made her heart flutter a bit. It felt like Louis had done something, so she could do something she should have done during the time her grandfather was still alive.

As soon as they went down, Louis was already outside waiting for her, dressed in his white riding suit that made him look like a prince who was just too snobby because of his serious expression.

Louis looked at her blankly as she was now walking toward him. He didn’t say anything and just proceeded to call the men to bring the horses that they would use both.

“This is going to be your horse from now on, Miss Helena,” one of the men said as he pulled the rope of the white horse toward her.

Her eyes widened when she looked at the horse because it looked so pretty in her eyes. It was actually her dream to own her horse, and she never had one, which is why she doesn’t know how to ride it either.

“Don’t worry, she is tamed, and you can rest assured that you can easily control her very well,” the man said when he was now trying to help her get on the horse.

As much as Helena wanted to say that she didn’t know how to ride it, she just wanted to trust what the man said, and she was quite unwilling to voice out her opinion, knowing that Louis already rode on his horse. He was holding the rope and was looking at her impatiently like she was causing too much delay, which is why she would rather not cause too much trouble for him.

As soon as she rode on top of it and held it, Louis then started to make his own horse run, and Helena was more pressured to follow him, just mimicking what Louis did to his own horse. She was having a hard time controlling it, but it seemed like the horse was also following Louis’ horse, so she just held the rope firmly so she wouldn’t fall.

It felt surreal, and she could not believe she was riding it on her own. Her hair was swaying, and she could feel the cold breeze kissing her face while she was now chasing after Louis’ back, who looked so relaxed while riding it.

She was amused to see his view on the back because it showed his broad back and the way he was smoothly galloping on the horse. He looked like a soldier who was now ready for war because of how intense he looked.

I wonder why he didn’t try to date anyone. But maybe it was true that he couldn’t get over it with someone else. Perhaps first love?

Louis controlled the rope, and the horse calmed down from running until it slowly walked. That’s why she also mimicked him until her own horse leveled to his. Her eyes wandered, and she was shocked to see the wide plantation of fruits, and there were also some men harvesting them.

“I am the number one who’s transporting these fruits all over the other big towns,” Louis explained, which amused Helena, knowing that he was this rich.

It was noticeable how wide the hectares of his land were, and it was also filled with a lot of business resources. Although she really knows that the Montvilles are super rich, knowing how her mother, who is Helena’s mother, told her to favor the Montvilles, she could already tell that they weren’t just the normal rich clan.

He toured her around, and Helena had seen why Louis alone could surpass anyone because he knew how business works. He has his own ways of maintaining his territory wide. He is not someone you could easily target because he would swallow you whole first before you could even strike him.

“How about you? What is your own goal since you want to build your own empire?” Louis conversed seriously while their horses were now resting, and they just went down for a while.

Helena has a lot of dreams in the past when she was Alana, but her family is just too selfish that they don’t want to give her any of the lands to manage, or at least to let her have her own name in the family because she was considered the black sheep. She has never gotten any part of her parents’ wealth since she was always considered nonexistent.

“Well, if I were to build my own business, I would probably focus on farming too. Food is very essential, not just to everyone but also to those who are homeless and who badly need to survive every day. I want to be that rich to help those who need it the most.”

“Homeless,” he pointed out and looked at her.

“Well, not just homeless, but those who feel like running away, who feel like they don’t have a home.”

“Are you trying to convince everyone to just be homeless since they have you and you could provide for them, is that it?” he clarified.

Helena’s eyes widened, and she immediately shook her head to disagree. Louis crossed his arms and looked at her with his unreadable eyes while Helena looked torn.

“It wasn’t like that. I’m just trying to say that there are some people who feel lost and need help because they already have no one to run to. They don’t have a family that cares for them, and I want them to feel that there is someone who would lend a hand to help them and let them survive for a week or so.”

“So you are an open orphanage because you like welcoming those kinds of people.”

“Maybe? But not like that, okay?”

“What if those you were helping out were bad? What if they would do bad to you?”

Helena only smiled because she really knew the answer to that question, knowing that her past self was just too soft and always ready to help, despite how she needed the help too.

“I think it’s their loss because I only offered help, and yet they made me realize that they’re bad people. And besides, I would not regret extending my hand because all I wanted was to help. That’s all.”

“You seemed like you were already betrayed a lot of times. People like you would easily be fooled and betrayed because they know that you won’t think anything bad about them. You would welcome anyone in your life without being so cautious that they could be the snake that would swallow you whole.”

Helena was somehow moved by his words, knowing that it had already happened. She had already been betrayed, the reason why she died and was now trapped in someone else’s body. And it was because of her genuineness that led her to her own deathbed.
