Ashley
Alex walked to his father's corpse. He bent over and a stream of tears found its way down his cheeks. His eyes were completely shut as he held his father's lifeless body. “How could you?” He sobbed as he turned to me. “Alex, believe me, I never did this and I swear with my life,” I spoke sharply, my eyes wide open as I shivered with the knife which was still in my hand. “Shut your trap, bitch! You stand there with a bloodstained knife in your hand and you're telling me all this shit!” He yelled with all his veins now standing strong from his skin. “Why would you even believe that I would do such a thing? And to my father-in-law and on my wedding day?” “Did you hear that? Did you all hear that?” He returned his gaze to the crowd as he left the body. “She wouldn’t do that to her father-in-law,” “I never did it! Never! Please!!” I cried in pain. I was already pale red. How was I going to explain to them that I only walked into the room because of Sophia’s surprise for me. How was I supposed to know that someone was there? I regretted ever stepping into the dark room. Probably I should have gone to meet my husband then afterwards I go for the gift. Alex wasn't ready to listen to my own part of the story. I understood that I'd have done the same if I were in his position. There was no way I could point out myself as innocent, because I held the knife in my hand when they walked in. “My love, it's me. There's no way I would have done this, seriously you have to believe me. I only walked in here and discovered this,” I explained. “You're such a bloody liar!” He retorted “If you don't believe me,I'm ready to prove my innocence,” “There's a witness Ashley!”he yelled back. “Wait, what! What witness?” I was shocked. My eyes dwindled towards the audience and back to the young man who stood angrily at me. His hands clenched. Where would the witness come from when I'm fully aware that I was alone in the room all the while before they came in. Just then, the crowd was moving aside as someone was coming through. It was Sophia. “Oh, thank goodness you're here Sophia.” I went up to hold her hand and she brushed me off with her hands immediately. “What do you think you're doing?” She asked, fuming. “Sophie? Please tell me you don't also believe I did this, please,” I knelt begging her in my own flood of tears. “Sophia!” Alex called. “Yes,” She replied. “I want you to tell everyone here again what you said you saw,” He said and stared at me with rage. I looked at her, expecting some liberation from her words. “I saw Ashley walking into this room with a knife and I followed her stealthily. I wondered what she was up to. Her countenance was all about bitterness and I could see vengeance in her eyes. Just then a man groaned and when I looked, it was Mr Lloyd Grey, the father of our one and only Alex here. Seeing that, I rushed to seek attention knowing that it was a very wicked act to be carried out on her wedding day.” “Sophia!!!, no! Why would you lie against me? That's not true. She brought me here!” I screamed with my mouth agape. “Shut your trap murderer!” Alex shouted and made to hit me again but two men from the crowd held him back. I could hear some voices from the crowd echo “She's not worth it!” I could feel the tears from my eyes splitting and flowing down like a river into a dam. The room also had people mourning and wailing but I was still confused, the more. I saw the elders move to the corner of the room close to me. They rested their gaze on me with disgust. “What do you think should be done to her, Alex?” one of the elders from the council, asked. “Have you forgotten the code so fast?” another elder added “You are the son of your father. We expect you to act the same way he would have done.” He chipped in. “What do you suggest I do now?” Alex asked, taking his gaze to me. From the part of the ground where I lay, I could see it in his eyes that he didn't totally believe the whole thing and he was pitiful. Just then, some men walked into the room to take out the corpse of Alpha-king Lloyd Grey. The knife was still beside me and my white silky dress was stained red with dripping blood. I was still shivering hoping that there would be some atom of salvation or a savior to take me out of the mysterious incident I got into. Then one of the elders spoke. “Looking at her side of the story, it could also be possible that she didn't do it,” “You all saw the eye witness and I believe you heard her clearly. If there was no eye witness, this would have been a more complicated case,” The elder cuts him short. “I think the best thing to do is to take her away for the time being while I give myself time to think on what to do to her,” I summoned courage again and rose to beg him. “Alex please, I never did this. Don't believe anything they've said to you, they're liars,” “Really? liars you say? Ashley, I'm disappointed in you. What did he ever do to you? He showered you with all the love you needed and yet you couldn't just control the beast in you!” He yelled with his veins out. His face reddened and an uncontrollable river of tears flowed down his cheeks. “It was all Sophia, she called me to take a gift,” I sobbed. I couldn't wipe the mucus off my nose as it increased alongside the heavy drops of sweat all over me now. “If anyone at all, not my father, Ashley, no!” he continued and turned away. “I know,” I broke down more. Just then I heard what shattered me. “Take her to the dungeon!” “Wait! Please! Alex, don't do this! I'm innocent!” I begged while my legs rolled and I struggled with the werewolf guards as they took me out. Just then, my eyes caught Sophia, then she gave me a cruel smile.Ashley. Eunice. Her name kept on ringing in my head as I walked to and fro inside my room. If she heard a thing from what Claire and I discussed, that would be more than a disaster. I ventured to the refrigerator and took a bottle of soda. I had a long gulp and belched. ‘This suits my mental state right now,’ I mumbled. I was so troubled that evening. I needed to see Boris. He sent for me a few hours ago.I felt an inexplicable tingling sensation on the crown of my head, like the whispers of ancient secrets. It was as if the air around me was charged with an otherworldly energy, and i couldn't shake the feeling that something magical was unfolding, thread by thread. I noticed a few changes in my canine tooth which ached me lately, my furs were itchy and I could barely stay without hearing sounds resembling indistinct chattering. It felt like I was under some wolf spell. I walked out of the room immediately, towards the Alpha’s Chambers. While I walked, I heard some noise coming o
Ashley. “‘Enjoy your meal, Luna?’, seriously?!” My eyes flashed with annoyance as I rounded Claire, my voice low and urgent. “I’m sorry Luna, it was a mistake,” She voiced as she stood to apologize. She was working on her flowers and trimming some others. “Mistake? You almost put us both in trouble right there,” I paused, hissed. My hands were folded, my jaw clenched in frustration. I exclaimed as I watched Claire concentrate on her flowers. I was pissed at what she did. She almost got us both in trouble. “Luna, please, you’ll have to take things slowly, okay?” She responded as she continued with her flowers while I watched. “How would you just write that and place it right under the lump. Do you think Boris would be fooled?” I yelled. My eyes showed frustration. My brows furrowed. “Ash, I knew what I did there, it was a test run. Please—chill,” “You messed up right there!” I cut her. It angered me that she didn’t even see the need to show remorse. She always defended herself
Boris. I decided to surprise my wife with a quick morning breakfast. Later that day, she’s going to be celebrated by the pack and also the ritual of acceptance would be carried out to welcome her formally into the pack. I had some pancakes and cheese burgers in the tray and beside them was a glass of milk. ‘I bet she’s going to like this,’ I whispered as I snapped my right fingers. As I walked down the lobby, I felt my wolf—Silverback was unsettled. It whispered. ‘I don’t align with her wolf,’ It seemed weird to me anyway but I paused and glanced at the tray for a second. I had a quick flash from yesterday's encounter, from the hospital. It’s true she was brought back to life by the moon goddess, but she acted really awful. It was so embarrassing to me, chasing after my own wife like one chasing after a mad woman. It’s been a while since Roan called me Boris, but yesterday she did. So many signs I didn’t notice, and also when she stretched to take the glass of milk from me, she d
Ashley. [12AM Midnight]I was careful not to let any of the werewolf guards spot me. I took a veil belonging to Roan from her wardrobe which aided in my disguise. I strode towards the courtyard as directed in the note. Maybe this Claire lady would have an explanation for what was happening to me. My heart raced as I heard footsteps come from the corner of the building. I had to maintain the aura the real Roan had. No one had to note me as Ashley, or being an imposter. I wasn’t even familiar with my wolf. I didn’t know if I had one.The murmuring approached and I knew for certain I’ll have to hide, but I was already late. The next pillar was just a step ahead but I already felt the presence of the men behind me. “Stop!” The deep bass voice echoed as I paused. “Turn around, slowly,” the second man added. As i turned around, my eyes widened with fear, my chest heaved rapidly, my heart pounding visibly beneath my shirt—eyes darting frantically, searching for an escape. I exhaled and
Ashley. “Ouch, where the hell am I?” I turned slowly to the corner as I lay on the bed. I felt my body ache and some stitches around my left arm. I felt horrified. I panicked at the sight of a number of medical syringes and beside them were pints of blood, plasters and drugs. ‘This can’t be a hospital, hospitals don’t have wardrobes,’ I muttered as I observed the room for a moment. I was definitely in a luxury apartment. Maybe, soon I’ll find out who it belonged to. I had a flash back of the executioner as he rasied his axe to slice through. I shuddered. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” I slurred. “What the fuck is going o…?” I wasn’t done before the door opened. A man walked into the room with a bottle of water in his hands. He looked familiar, like the same man from the hospital. “Are you okay?” He inquired, pretending to pay less attention to me as he dropped the bottle on a table in front. He brought out two tins of milk. I was speechless and kept on staring at him
Ashley.“She’s alive!” A voice whispered from the background as I lay flat with my eyes, trying to balance the ray of light from the window. “Where am I?” I voiced, my voice shrill. I felt surprised seeing myself in a hospital ward. The last thing I recalled was my head in the round stake and the painful slice from the executioner's axe. I flinched. “What’s going on?” I muttered as I raised my head and noticed a nurse with a file in her hand. “You’ll be fine, Luna.” She smiled wryly at me.“Oh dear, it’s good to have you back after such a long night. We were all scared and felt you’ve already passed on,” she rubbed her hands slowly, showing sympathy. “What the hell am I doing here? nurse. Why am I in a hospital, and where the hell is Alex…” I stuttered at the moment. My eyes popped wide open. I realized I just called out the name of my bane. Everything looked so confusing to me at the time and I felt so lost. “Roan? Roan?!” I heard the voice of a man call as he entered the ward
