I went through the collection of Roans diary to see if I’d be able to get something useful. I flipped through the pages swiftly and listened to my heartbeat. My eyes pierced through the pages of her magazine and the pictures she had stored there. I was baffled to note she had so many friends. My heart raced.

‘What the hell would I do when these ladies eventually start coming around? How am I to keep up with the cover? How long would I have to use memory loss as an excuse?’ I mumbled.

My daughter would be back soon. I was so curious about meeting the 14-year-old. Claire told me a lot about her lately and I couldn’t just wait to see what parenthood would feel like. The part which scared me the most was not getting along with her like the actual Roan would, or letting her get so attached to me, unlike her real mom.
