The black sedan purred through the late afternoon traffic, the city lights beginning to blur into streaks of neon. Pim gripped her phone, the message from Vee a cold spark against her thumb. You're move was bold. But do you know how to hold what you take? Meet me at the 'Midnight Terrace' in an hour if you want to keep that bank account alive.

"Driver," Pim said, her voice sharp. "Change of plans. Head to the 'Midnight Terrace'."

Just as the words left her mouth, a new blue screen flickered into existence, overriding the text message on her internal display.

[System Alert: Immediate Asset Acquisition Opportunity Detected.]

[Target: 'L'Aura' Building, Sukhumvit Soi 24. Critical Window: 90 minutes.]

[Recommendation: Prioritize financial leverage. Midnight Terrace can wait.]

Pim’s eyes narrowed. L'Aura. The boutique Chalida frequented, the one she’d casually threatened to buy just minutes ago. The System wasn’t playing games.

"Actually, driver, new destination," Pim corrected, leaning forward. "Take me to the CBD, Sukhumvit Soi 24. And make it fast. We're looking for the 'Elite Properties' office."

Preecha, sitting beside her, raised a silver eyebrow. "Elite Properties? That's quite a shift, Miss Pimchanok. They deal exclusively in high-value commercial and luxury residential."

"Precisely," Pim replied, her gaze fixed on the flashing blue screen. "I have some shopping to do."

The high-rise lobby of Elite Properties was a cavern of polished marble and hushed whispers. Pim, still in her worn clothes, felt the subtle prickle of judgment from the impeccably dressed staff. A young woman with a perfectly sculpted bun eyed Pim's sneakers with barely concealed disdain.

"Good evening," the receptionist said, her tone professional but edged with an almost imperceptible condescension. "Do you have an appointment?"

"No," Pim said, stepping forward. "But I believe Khun Saroj is expecting me. Regarding the L'Aura building."

The receptionist's eyes widened fractionally. "Khun Saroj is our senior broker for commercial properties. He’s quite busy. Perhaps I can schedule you for tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow will be too late," Pim stated, her voice even. "Tell him Pimchanok is here. And that I don’t like waiting."

The receptionist hesitated, then picked up her phone, her gaze sweeping over Pim's attire again. "Khun Saroj, a... Miss Pimchanok is here. She says it’s about L'Aura. No appointment."

A pause. Then, the receptionist's expression hardened. "He'll see you. Room B." She gestured with a dismissive flick of her hand.

Preecha gave Pim a subtle nod, his eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and approval. "Looks like you’re already making an impression."

Pim just gave a faint smile. "Just getting started."

Room B was a sleek, minimalist space with panoramic views of Bangkok. Khun Saroj was a man in his late fifties, impeccably dressed in a silk suit, with a neatly trimmed mustache and eyes that assessed value with chilling precision. He didn't stand when Pim entered.

"Miss Pimchanok," he said, his voice smooth as aged whiskey. "My receptionist tells me you’re here about the L'Aura building. And without an appointment. That’s unusual for a property of that caliber." He gestured vaguely at her outfit. "Even more unusual for... walk-ins."

Pim walked to the glass wall, turning her back to him for a moment. "The L'Aura building. It’s on the market, correct?"

"It is," Saroj confirmed, his tone indicating he found her question trivial. "But the owner is only entertaining serious, qualified buyers. People who understand the value of a prime Sukhumvit location. Not just... window shoppers."

Pim turned back, meeting his gaze. "I assure you, Khun Saroj, I’m not here to window shop. What's the asking price?"

Saroj leaned back, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "It’s a multi-story building, Miss Pimchanok. Over 500 square meters of prime retail space, plus a luxurious rooftop penthouse. The owner is asking 120 million Baht."

Pim’s internal System flashed her current balance. A robust 772,002.50 THB. Still a long way from 120 million. She needed Saroj to keep talking.

"One hundred and twenty million," Pim repeated, as if considering it deeply. "And I suppose you have multiple offers already?"

"Of course," Saroj said, picking up a pen and tapping it against his desk. "We have an offer from a major retail conglomerate, another from an investment fund, and even a well-known fashion brand—"

"Chalida, by any chance?" Pim interjected, a small, knowing smile playing on her lips.

Saroj paused, his pen stopping. His expression tightened almost imperceptibly. "I'm afraid I cannot disclose client names."

"No need," Pim said. "I know. She’s rather fond of the place. Planning a big fashion gala for tomorrow, isn’t she?"

Saroj's eyes narrowed. "You seem remarkably well-informed for someone who walks in off the street in... that." His gaze swept over her again, lingering on her simple, unbranded shirt. "Frankly, Miss Pimchanok, I don't see how you could possibly be a serious contender. This isn't a market stall. This is prime Bangkok real estate."

Pim watched her balance jump. 817,002.50 THB. "You're right, Khun Saroj," she said, her voice soft, almost a purr. "It’s not a market stall. It’s an asset. And I’m prepared to make an offer. Right now."

Saroj scoffed, a genuine sound of disbelief. "With what? The loose change in your pocket? Miss, respectfully, you’re wasting my time. I have real clients with real capital."

[Ding!]

[Alert: Cumulative Insult Bonus! Multiplier x3.]

[Deposit: 135,000 THB credited to your account.]

Pim’s smile widened, a truly chilling sight. Her balance was now 952,002.50 THB. Enough for a hefty down payment.

"You really think I’m just 'loose change,' Khun Saroj?" Pim asked, leaning forward, her eyes fixed on his. "You think I’d waste my time, and yours, if I wasn’t serious? Or maybe you just can’t fathom someone like me having enough to play in your league."

"My league, Miss Pimchanok," Saroj said, his voice tinged with irritation, "is where millions are exchanged without a second thought. Not where people pretend to be something they’re not."

Pim chuckled, a low, satisfied sound. Her balance now read 1,202,002.50 THB. Over a million Baht, generated purely from Saroj's disdain. She felt a surge of cold power.

"Excellent, Khun Saroj," Pim said, her tone shifting to one of chilling authority. "Now that we’ve established your opinion of my financial standing, let’s talk business. The L'Aura building. I’ll make a non-contingent offer of 115 million Baht, cash. Close in 48 hours."

Saroj blinked, his smooth façade cracking. "One hundred fifteen million? Cash? In 48 hours?" He looked at her, then at Preecha, who remained impassive. "Miss, that’s... that’s an extremely aggressive offer. And frankly, unbelievable from someone like you."

"Unbelievable or simply unexpected?" Pim countered, a glint in her eyes. "The owner wants a quick sale, doesn’t he? And your other offers, I presume, have financing clauses, due diligence periods. My offer is clean. A quick, guaranteed transaction."

"But... where would you even get that kind of capital on such short notice?" Saroj stammered, visibly shaken. The System had extracted its toll.

"That's my business, not yours," Pim said, a predatory edge to her voice. "What is your commission on 115 million in 48 hours, Khun Saroj? Is it enough to overlook my 'commoner' appearance?"

Saroj swallowed, his eyes darting to a wall full of framed awards. "The commission... would be substantial." He picked up his phone, his hand trembling slightly. "I need to call the owner. This is... unprecedented."

"Do that," Pim said, settling into a chair across from his desk. "And while you're at it, ask him if he'd like an additional five million if I throw in the rooftop penthouse as part of the deal. I want the entire building. Fully furnished. And I want the keys tomorrow morning."

[System Feature: Asset Acquisition - Rooftop Penthouse Add-on. Cost: 5,000,000 THB. Leverage: Khun Saroj's 'Panic-Inducement' Compensation. Status: Pending.]

Saroj stared at her, then slowly placed his phone back down. He picked up his pen again, but this time, he didn't tap it. He just gripped it tightly. "The rooftop penthouse is not officially for sale, Miss Pimchanok. It's the owner's private residence."

"Every man has his price, Khun Saroj," Pim said, her voice dropping to a low, persuasive tone. "And 120 million for a quick, clean sale of the entire property, no questions asked, should be quite enticing. Especially when compared to the headache of dealing with a potential high-profile scandal involving a politician's daughter who might or might not have driven a car into a motor-scooter."

Saroj's face went utterly blank. He stared at Pim, then at Preecha, then back at Pim, his expensive suit suddenly looking a size too large. "You... you know."

"I know a lot of things, Khun Saroj," Pim said, her eyes glinting. "Now, are you going to make that call, or should I take my 'loose change' elsewhere?"

The negotiation was swift after that. The owner, eager to avoid any potential association with a looming scandal, agreed to Pim’s revised all-cash offer for the entire building, penthouse included. Documents were prepared with a speed that defied the usual pace of Thai bureaucracy. Pim signed with a flourish, her hand steady, a ghost of her past life’s desperation finally laid to rest.

Pim stood on the bare concrete floor of her new rooftop penthouse, the sprawling city lights spread out beneath her like a glittering carpet. The space was immense, cold, and empty, a blank canvas awaiting her command. Preecha and his associate had already left, ensuring the legalities were ironclad.

Her phone buzzed in her hand. This time, it was a news alert.

BREAKING NEWS: Minister’s Daughter Chalida’s High-Profile Fashion Gala CANCELED Amidst Unforeseen Venue Issues at Popular Sukhumvit Boutique.

Pim smiled. Chalida wouldn't know why, not yet. Not until Pim chose to deliver the news personally.

She walked to the edge of the terrace, looking down at the street below. A familiar silver Mercedes pulled up to the curb, its headlights cutting through the Bangkok haze. Chalida's car. It was too late for the gala, too late for anything.

Pim watched as Chalida stepped out, her designer dress a splash of frustrated color against the backdrop of the now-darkened L'Aura boutique below. Chalida glanced up at the penthouse, a look of confusion, then annoyance on her face. She probably wondered why the lights were off.

Pim raised her phone, the screen still showing Vee's text. Meet me at the 'Midnight Terrace' in an hour if you want to keep that bank account alive.

The hour had long passed. The game was getting bigger. And Pim was just getting started.

Pim had watched her, a ghost of a smile playing on her lips, a promise of both peril and power in her gaze.As Chalida stared at her, a single tear traced a path down her cheek. It was a tear of shame and terror, but also, disturbingly, of a dawning, terrifying anticipation for what was to come. The game had just begun, and she was no longer an opponent, but a player on Pim’s board. And Pim, she realized, was only just starting to play. The first slivers of dawn were just painting the Bangkok skyline in hues of bruised purple and rose when the private elevator chimed. Chalida stared, breathless, her mouth working but no sound coming out. The city lights outside blurred into a kaleidoscope of fear, but beneath it, a strange, desperate hunger flickered in her eyes."What... what are you, Pim?" she whispered, her voice barely audible, a fragile thread woven with terror and a disturbing, nascent fascination. "What have you become?"Pim watched her, the crimson gown a silent stain in the pristine fountain, a testament to her rising power. She didn't answer immediately, letting the question hang heavy in the opulent silence of the mall atrium. The air, usually thick with the scent of luxury, now carried an electric charge, a tension that drew the few lingering eyes."I’ve become exactly what you created, Chalida," Pim finally said, her voice low, a silken whisper that seemed to ripple through the air. "A reflection. Just… sharper."She turned, leaving Chalida to stare at the ruined dress, and walked out of the mall, the echoes of her sister’s broken ques

The city lights still blurred behind Chalida as she slid down the glass, a trembling, broken heap. Her breath hitched, her eyes wide with a terror that finally eclipsed her rage. Pim had just revealed a secret so deeply buried, so utterly damning, it could unravel their mother’s entire political career."My mother? What about Mom?" Chalida whimpered, her voice barely a whisper. "Don't you dare touch Mom!"Pim watched her, a ghost of a smile touching her lips. The vast, empty penthouse felt even larger around them, the silence amplifying Chalida’s shattered confession."Oh, but I will," Pim said, her voice soft, dangerously calm. She stepped away from the window, giving Chalida space but offering no quarter. "Because it's not just about you, is it? It's about all the little secrets. And I've only just started pulling threads."Chalida could only stare, breathless, her mouth working but no sound coming out. The black sedan's taillights disappeared into the swirling Bangkok haze, leaving Chalida stranded. She stared up at the L'Aura building, a monumental, darkened silhouette against the bruised purple of the twilight sky. The boutique’s display windows, usually ablaze with expensive light, were now lifeless, reflecting only her furious, disbelieving face. She cursed under her breath, fumbling for her phone. The gala. Canceled. Her career. Drowning. Then, her eyes darted to the penthouse suite, a vast expanse of glass crowning the building. A single, faint light flickered within. Pim. The thought hit her with the force of a physical blow. Pim had been talking about buying this building. It was insane. Impossible. Yet, a cold dread began to coil in Chalida’s gut."No way," Chalida muttered, her voice trembling. "No damn way."She stormed back to the building’s entrance, shoving past the surprised security guard. "Which floor is the penthouse?" she demanded, her voice sharp with inherited a
