Chapter 44
In the next moment, Sarah and Luke materialized in the backyard of Johnson’s mansion. Luke was again in his human form, butt naked and smiling widely, while Sarah was at loss with everything that happened.
But it didn’t matter… nothing mattered anymore because her Luke was all alive and well! He was all right.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, Sarah moved a step back from Luke before touching his chest, looking for the wound. She couldn’t find a thing except for the barely noticeable scar tissue she felt under her fingertips.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart. I am fine.” Luke said while pulling her into his firm embrace, which she returned immediately. “In fact, I am better than ever.” He mumbled into her hair.
Sarah couldn’t hold herself back. She angled her head and found his soft lips that molded perfectly against hers. As always, Luke’s touch brought to the surface

Throughout the night, Sarah kept waking up. Her newfound peace was not enough to give her night calm, good night’s sleep because every time she would snap out of her dreamless state, she would feel Luke being awake beside her. The past year has been challenging for Sarah. It was more complicated than she expected it to be. From the day she discovered she could invoke fire from nowhere, start it by her own free will, things went downhill. After everything that happened with her biological parents, the serene day they had was just the calm before the storm. Once the spark found its way out, there was no way back. Fiery energy wanted out, and she could do nothing about it.
