Chapter 2- Cover up

"Caspian! Why are you rushing?"

He drank the last shot of Alfonso in his glass before he put it on the table. Jiro looked at him, confused. Caspian is drinking nonstop, as if he wants to go home already.

"I'm done!" He wiped the side of his lips. "I'll get going now." He snatched his keys from Jiro before walking away. While taking the stairs, he scanned the whole dance floor. He muttered a curse when he can't see the woman that caught his attention.

Jiro was just silently following him without him knowing. He wants Caspian to be safe, especially now that he drank a lot of alcohol. Man finished three fucking bottles of alcohol all by himself. Jiro was genuinely concerned by how Caspian is acting. He is not like that.

"Fuck, wait!" Jiro immediately scanned the whole bar, from every corners of it to the middle of the dance floor. Caspian was gone in just a snap! Jiro was annoyed and at the same time concerned. Someone held his arms that made him look fast at the one who held him, hoping it was Caspian.

"Lazarillo! Oh, the smart Lazarillo!" A drunk girl pointed at his face while smiling. It seems like the girl can't control herself anymore. She was about to walk away when the dance floor got crowded and someone accidentally pushed her that made her lost in balance.

Jiro immediately held her wrist while his other hand was wrapped on her waist. "Please, be careful."

On the other hand, Caspian was busy finding the woman that caught his attention. And knowing Caspian, he will never give up. Even if it takes years of finding, he will never give up. Even though he drank that three bottles, it seems like the alcohol has no kick. As of the moment, he only cares for the woman he is finding.

He noticed the familiar woman, brown long wavy hair, so he followed her until they reached the smoking area. He's just quiety following her without calling her, he might scare the hell out of her. As he followed her, he saw Raziel standing from afar waiting for someone.

Caspian hid behind the bushes so that he won't be that creepy. He saw how the woman went to Raziel. He smiled at her and held her waist.

"Is she his girlfriend?" Caspian whispered. He just kept watching them. They're casually talking as if they are so close. "There is a possibility that she is his girlfriend. Why am I doing this?" He sighed.

"I am acting weird." He ruffled his hair before going to his car. He is indeed frustrated from what happened. It's his first time that a woman caught his attention and yet a tragic ending happened, even before their love story started.

"I barely even know that woman. Stop acting weird, Caspian," he reminded himself. He opened the door of his car before driving back to his mansion. He needs some rest. He went to the bar for fun but end up getting frustrated from what happened.

"Caspian Magnus Castillo! We need to fucking talk!"

Jiro shouted as he entered Caspian's room. The latter was peacefully sleeping but Jiro interrupted it by throwing a pillow in his head.

"Ah!" Caspian immediately stood up, confused on what's happening. After his eyes darted to Jiro, he lazily got back on his bed. "Fuck off dude. I don't want to get nagged early in the morning."

"Where the fuck did you go last night?"

"Mansion. I went home straight," Caspian barely said. His voice was rough, early morning voice.

"And why didn't you tell me? I should've gone home with you!"

Caspian looked at him and he raised a brow. "And why would you go with me?" He tilted his head, getting confused.

"Obviously because you were-"

"You like me don't you?" He covered his mouth, acting like he was shocked. "Bro, I am not gay! Even though my whole life I don't have a fucking girl friend, I am not gay! And we're cousins!"

Jiro was about to punch him on the face when Caspian laughed loudly. "I'm sorry! You're being so serious early in the morning. I'm still having hangover!"

Jiro rolled his eyes before turning his back against him. "Get the fuck up, Castillo. We're going to District 2." Caspian immediately stood up and went to his bathroom to wash. When Jiro starts to mention his surname, that's when he knows that the work is starting.

It took him five minutes after preparing. He went to the kitchen to toast a bread. He has no time to eat a proper meal since Jiro is waiting for him. He got his car keys before going to the garage.

"Let's go."

All of the mafia's mansion were located at District 7, only Caspian's mansion was at District 8. There are a total of 8 Districts in Ciudad Reál. It is not just a city, Ciudad Reál is the Capital and the biggest city in the country. That's why Caspian has a lot of obligations for being the mafia boss. But despite being the biggest city, it was also the simplest.

Caspian used his Raptor while Jiro used his BMW. He even teased Jiro that he brought a small car with him while they're going on an operation. It was a smooth drive for Caspian. There was a light traffic near District 3 since there a lot of people who owns a car there.

When they arrived at an abandoned building, five latest Mercedes car and one BMR R 18 B were already there. Caspian parked his Raptor beside the red Mercedes before he went inside the building. Jiro was following him.

"Who reported the case?" Caspian asked Darius.

"Jarvis Landry," he answered. "He was the first one who saw the four dead bodies inside this abandoned building."

Jiro checked the bodies. They're covered with blood and the murderers did not even cover them with anything. "Where is he?"

"Police station. Police Reál was the one who reported it to us. Jarvis went with Officer Jones for some sort of interview," Kaede answered.

Caspian went to the girl's body who is far from the three bodies. "Time of death?" He asked.

"We still don't know, Castillo."

"Azrael get your medical stuff. Kaede and Raziel check for some suspicious things inside the building. Lazarillo's, call officer Jones and your father." Caspian commanded them.

After a few minutes, Azrael got back holding a bag of medical equipments. "What are you going to do with this? They're dead, Castillo."

"I'm not dumb, Costello," he fired back. "Give me the thermometer," he commanded. Azrael handed him the thermometer and the next thing Caspian did made him confused.

"Why are you getting their temperatures?" He asked.

"Stop asking, idiot." Caspian inserted the thermometer inside the girl's armpit to get her temperature. "32°C," he said. "What time is it now?"

"9 in the morning," Azrael replied.

"Convert Celsius to Fahrenheit," Caspian told him that made Azrael frown his brows.

"Dude, do it yourself. I don't know how to fucking do that." He rolled his eyes. He just handed him the paper and a pen.

"You're useless." Caspian took them and started solving it. "89.6°F," he whispered. After getting the answer, he started converting the normal body temperature to Fahrenheit.

Azrael was just busy watching him solve. "So, how do you know the time of their death?"

"The body loses 1.5°F per hour if they're dead," Caspian answered.

"Really?"

"Yeah, so the rectal temperature is subtracted from the normal body temperature of 98 degrees. The difference between the two is divided by 1.5," he showed Azrael the solution. "And that final number is used to approximate the time since death."

"Wow, I didn't know that." Azrael looked up, as if he's trying to memorize what Caspian told him.

"Of course, you're dumb." Caspian rolled his eyes.

"6°F," Caspian told him. "It's been 6 hours since they're dead."

"3 in the morning?" Jiro asked while approaching them. The other guys also finished their tasks. Darius was holding a black box, probably a suspicious thing he saw while Raziel was holding a green cloth. Raziel's phone rang and he excused himself to take the call.

"They were murdered during the party last night," Kaede told them. All of them covered their mouths, acting shocked, except Jiro and Caspian.

"You're right, Kaede," Caspian said.

"One of the reasons why I don't want to go to the party. It was just a cover up for their plans," he whispered.
