Third Person's POV Silas stands in the conference room, looking out the large window that overlooks the side of the pack house where all the events are held. He looks down at the small stage that they put up hours ago, the stage he will be standing on next to Reid in front of his whole pack. He stands tall, with his shoulders back, his head held high, and his hands behind his back. He stands there looking out at the people already gathering. Azrael approaches and looks out the window as well. Both vampires stand tall as they watch the crowd form as pack members gather below. "Do you think they'll accept us?" Azrael asked. "Do you think I care?" Silas said, and Azrael rolled his eyes before turning his head to look at Silas. "You know you have a mate who's one of these people now. You need to step down from this pedestal, that you like to stand so high on if you're going to live with them..... I know it's hard for you, but you'll eventually look at these people as yours and not
Third Person's POV "Little guy, meet your new guardians!" Silas said, smiling over Azrael's shoulder, Looking down at baby Ezra... Their new king. Silas steps around Azrael, smiling down at the baby before looking to Julian and Reid. "May I?" Silas asked, holding his hands toward the baby, asking if he could hold him. Julian hesitated and Reid looked to Lucian. Lucian stepped forward, and Silas looked down at him and almost wanted to laugh when he watched the little angel come up onto his toes just to reach his forehead. He might have been able to stop from laughing, but he couldn't stop the smile on his face before he leans down to help the poor little guy out. "Thank you!" Lucian said, after clearing his throat, trying to rid himself of the embarrassment from barely be able reach Silas's forehead. Again, it didn't take him long, since he didn't need to see his past memories, he just needed to know his intentions. Almost as soon as he started he stepped back as pulled his han
Third Person's POV Azrael pulls the baby against his chest, and looks down at the little king in his arms. He will cherish this moment, so he can look back one day when this baby is no longer a baby, but the strong man, the strong king he knows he's going to be. He'll be able to remember the day he held the king in his arms when he was just a baby on the day he pledged his life to him, this memory will forever be etched into his brain. Silas looks down over Azrael's shoulder at his king. Both men smile from ear to ear, when Ezra looks up at them and smiles. They probably would have stayed like that, just looking down at their king. But the presence of its dad who is now standing in front of Azrael brought their attention away from Ezra. "He smiled at you guys, he must really like you two." Julian said. "I really hope he does, after all he is our king." Silas said. Even though he didn't want to let go just yet, he could see his dad was eager to have his baby back in his arms. He
Third Person's POV Azrael finally turns around to face Blake and he quickly lifts Azrael's shirt and runs his hand over the area the wound was. However the wound was already healed. He dropped the shirt, then took Azrael's face in his hands. Blake's eyes searched his face, Azrael's hands came up and he placed them on Blake's. "I'm okay, I can't die from a knife like that. Not unless it hits my heart." "That scared me!.... I thought you were...." "No, I'm perfectly fine! He could have shot me in the stomach, or even the chest and I would not have died. The only thing that can kill me is if you pierced my heart, removed my head or drained me of all my blood.... Well and burning. I suppose you could burn me alive, but you'd have to chain me down. Because as soon as the ropes that bound me burned, even if my hair and skin have been severely burned, I could still get away and it would heal... You wouldn't even be able to tell I was ever burned after a few feedings." "Damn!" Blake sa
Third Person's POV Ian looked around, he was surprised at how different everyone seemed to be since Reid's speech. By the way the crowd was acting before Reid arrived, he didn't think it was possible for them to accept the two vampires, no matter what Reid said. But he watched their anger and rage slowly fade away. He watched as they looked between Reid and the two vampires. The look of hate that was once in their eyes when they looked at the vampires was no longer there. It was now acceptance and understanding. It's that very thing, that shocked even Silas and Azrael when they saw that change as well. It made Azrael feel even guiltier than he already did when he saw how easily they went from hating him, to accepting him, just by listening to their Alpha's reasoning. That showed him how good these people truly were, and that told him the people he killed were good people. They weren't the cold-hearted people that they were led to believe the wolves were. They were actually kinde
Ian's POV For the second morning in a row I woke up surprised to see Silas sleeping with me. I really thought I would be a rejected mate and be in pain right now instead of laying here beside him. Laying here looking down at his handsome face as he sleeps. He looks like a completely different person when he sleeps. When he's awake, he's this strong, closed off person with a hard face or completely emotionless. But when he sleeps, he looks so peaceful and relaxed. He looks so gentle and kind. I lay here next to him with my chest resting against him and my head propped up on my hand as I look down at him. This time he has no shirt on and I can feel his chest against mine. I let my hand roam against his skin, feeling the rise and fall of his muscles as I lightly trace them with my fingertips. I was mesmerized, watching my fingers trace his skin, that I didn't realize he was awake. I froze when I looked up and saw Silas staring at me. He was so quiet, he never made a noise nor di
Azrael's POV I'm used to feeling cold, my skin itself is cool to the touch. The cold has never bothered me, it can't. I could walk outside in the middle of winter with snow 4 ft high, completely naked and not be bothered by the cold.... But I never thought I'd wake up feeling warm. Every time I have woken up since I've met him, I feel warmer than I've ever felt in my entire life. His body radiates heat, and I wake up feeling it each time. Even with my cool skin against his all night, he still wakes up, hot as a furnace that's burning on high. Azrael thought to himself as he nuzzled his face against Blake's chest before lifting his head to look down at him. He was surprised, this time he was practically laying completely on top of him. And not all, for the first time in his life, he actually feels sore, and not his muscles. He winced when he sat up and felt a pain in his backside. He wanted to glare down at the man that caused that pain, but when he looked down he saw his mate so
Third Person's POV Because of the blood bond Silas has with Azrael, he felt his pain and he felt the guardians taking him. He knew it was them because he recognized Josephine's ability. Only two people can cause that type of pain and he knows Renwick's not there. That only leaves Josephine. Ian held on for dear life as Silas raced back to Thaddeus's. He reached Thaddeus's territory in just over 20 minutes and another 5 minutes to make it to the exact spot where they took Azrael. He sat Ian down next to Blake, who was on the ground crying. Silas stood in front of them, staring off in the direction they left with Azrael. He took a few steps in that direction before he dropped to his knees and his face dropped into his hands. "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry Azrael!" Silas whispered. Silas and Azrael share a blood bond, but not the kind you make with a life partner. It's the kind you make if you are a guardian, a lead guardian like Silas and you choose your partner to work with. It's
