As I got meet up with Hino, I saw him waiting for me at the cafe we agreed to meet up at. "Hey dude!" He greeted.
I sat on the chair at the other side of his table. "You know, I'm still not used to seeing you with that haircut. It suits you though."
"Thanks. Although this won't last long. I'm definitely going to grow it out again." He touches his hair, unsatisfied with its length.
"Long hair makes you look like a girl. Well, it's just your face that's girly."
"Are you implying that my face looks feminine?" It was weird his face flushed, even so I just ignored it.
"Yep. But with your body, it's otherwise. You're too tall and muscular for a girl."
He chuckles. "You guys keep saying I look like a girl when I have long hair, but no one ever notices you."
An eyebrow of mine raised. "What do you mean?"
"Well, there were times I noticed that you looked girly. You know, with your face and height, I realized you look way more girly than I am."
"What!?"
"You look girly."
"What in the world made you see me that way?" Like hell that I'm girly!
"Hmm… let's try thinking about it, shall we?" He asked with a smirk.
"Okay?"
"To start, let's talk about your face. How were you able to maintain such smooth skin? How do you shave your mustache or beard?" This guy is utterly ridiculous.
"Uh, I don't… my face never grew a mustache nor a beard."
"Haha! Well, I and probably some other dudes grows a lot of hair on our faces. And it's hard to shave it all into such a fine smooth skin like yours. You're a pretty rare guy with that kind of case." He pointed.
Now that I think about it, I did saw Hino and Toma once with little hair on their faces before.
"Next! What about hair on your arms and legs? Is it the same case with the non-existent hair on your face?" I nod, realizing his points were right.
I also just realized that men are supposed to be hair creatures, aren't they? But…
Ugh, I got nothing.
"And then your height! Sometimes I can't help but compare your height with the girls in the campus. Some of them are even taller than you."
"Wha… really?"
"Yep, you're height is the average height of a girl and a small height for a guy." He said. Then he made a square shape with both his thumbs and index, looking at me within the shape he made. "Lastly, when I imagine you with long hair, you can really be pretty!"
"Ugh, I get it now. I look more feminine than you." I told him.
He laughs it off. "I don't mean to put it that way, I just had the feel to share my thoughts about you."
"You really like to observe and imagine about other people, don't you?" Because I just learned that he has one scary imagination. What's worse is that I was pretty much convinced that I'm a little feminine.
"Yep, hehe."
"Okay, now that's over with, we probably should get started with the report." When I mentioned the thing we were supposed to do, his bright face vanished and turned into a frowning one.
"Ugh, back to school work again." We began discussing our topic, though while in the midst of discussing, my mind wanders about my masculinity.
Am I not… 'guy' enough?
I woke up earlier than Toma so we can seperately go to school on our own. I bet it pretty much upsets him that he won't be able to go there with me. He's pretty much used with going to school with me, however, that won't be happening today.I just hope things go well for him."…huh. Something is different." My seatmate Xia said."Nothing new out of the ordinary." I told her as I sat next to her."No, no. There's definitely something different with you today." Then her eyes gazed on the person who entered class. We both saw Toma coming in alone. There our eyes met, he smiles a little at me then goes to his seat without a worry. Xia then realized what she saw different in her perspective. "That's it! You haven't gone to school with your boyfriend!""What!?--I don't have a boyfriend! I'm a guy, I'm not gay!" Seriously, this girl is annoying. She just giggles as I glared at her.
It's been a week now since I started to seperate myself from Toma. These past few days were peaceful, but it was kind of lonely for some reason. It's not that I wasn't talking to other people to completely isolate myself… maybe I was also just used to have Toma with me.We actually see each other since we share the same room at the dorm, but we both made great effort to keep things in minimal, like our talks and other stuff. Also, I noticed that Toma found something for himself to be indulged in, so every seven at night he would go out and do whatever he got himself into."Hey, I'll be late again tonight. So don't lock the door on me." He often tells me that whenever he's going out."Just get the spare keys in the drawer." I told him while reading a book for my socialist class."I can't, I might lose them." Ah, it's in his nature to be careless with every small thing he possess."Whatever. I'll just
It's funny how fast time passes. And everytime a day is over, it feels like the distance between Toma and I grows bigger and bigger. He's slowly drifting away from me… "maybe I shouldn't have told him to avoid me that time.""Who are you talking about?" Xia interfered with my thoughts. That made me realize that I was talking out loud unconsciously. "Ah, nothing. Don't mind me.""Uh-huh, right." She gave me a look of disbelief. "Something's bothering you, you can't even focus on your part of the research right now."Looking at the screen of my laptop, it was still an empty draft. I really am distracted by these annoying thoughts."Ugh, I guess I need to take a rest first.""Okay, just don't forget we have to pass this next week." She told me."Yeah I'll be taking my leave now." When I was about to put my things in my bag, Xia suddenly mentioned something that blew my
It wasn't so long when I began to realize what my life would be without my bestfriend Toma. He was always the sociable guy while I was just someone who tagged along. I wasn't so friendly with the other guys he always used to hang out with other than me.So whenever lunch time arrives, I always find myself sitting alone at the cafeteria. Then I often see Toma with his other friends with him, as well as his girlfriend Cami."Never knew it would be like this." I muttered to myself, sometimes wishing I never suggested to avoid one another."…hey."I looked at the person by my side and saw Xia. "Oh it's you.""Yeah, got a room to spare here?" She asked with a cheeky smile."There's plenty of room as you can see, so be my guest." I told her, with a bit of sarcastic tone."Hahaha, sure." She sat right next to me. Ugh, of all places, this girl is really annoying.
"I'm Noru, a friend of Toma.""Oh…" so this was the guy who helped Toma with Cami. "I believe we met before. I always saw you with him when we were freshmen.""Ah yeah, I'm a friend of Toma and as well as a childhood friend." I told him.He smirks as he pass by, "It doesn't seem like it anymore."…jerk.After that, I left the restro0m and continued my day without a hassle. Though it quite bothered my mind about the guy from the restroom and Xia confessing to me. I'm getting mixed emotions by thinking about it.The next day wasn't so easy, when I saw Xia. It was awkward like I expected. "Uhm, hey." I kind of… greeted."Y-Yeah." She couldn't even make eye-contact with me.I attempted to find another seat but everything in the room was taken, so I had no other choice but to sit next to her. When I take a glance at her, I noticed how stiff she is.
"EHH!?" It looked like she can't believe what I've just said. "What did you just say to me?!""I asked if you want to go out with-""Are you for real!?" She still doubts if I'm serious about this."Well, yeah! So are you going to say 'yes' or-""Don't play with other people's feelings. I like you but I won't allow you to ever do what you're trying to do.""No, I'm really serious about this-""And don't ever think I'll let you get away with this-""Can't you quit cutting me off!? Seriously, I'm serious about this. So do you want to date me or not?" I planned to be nice and kind as possible, but with Xia, it's just impossible to do so.She stood frozen, observing me to see if I'm lying or not. "Really?""Yes, so what's your answer?" I demanded. She pouts and glares at, though she smiles and reached out her hand to me.
From: Xia『 See you later :D 』After reading the text I received from Xia, I felt a bit nervous since this feels like my first time on a date. The last time I dated someone when I was a senior highschool student. It feels such a long time since then."Ugh, act cool Yuji." I told myself while waiting for Xia.And it's not like I should be nervous for anything today, I'll just be going on a date with Xia. Shouldn't that be a fun thing?"…Yuji?" A familiar voice spoke. Then there I saw Hino, along with Toma, Noru and the rest of their friends. It was nostalgic seeing them altogether, but I realized that I was never a part of their circle because I was always just considered as someone who only tagged along with Toma."Oh, hey." I greeted. Some of them asked how I've been, and why I haven't been hanging out with them lately. Then my bestfriend who was being quiet began
We had our lunch at a fine restaurant in the mall we were at. The conversations were merely interesting and I was making a way for a question I had to ask.Though I thought Xia would pipe down her chitchat when we're in a relationship now, but it was otherwise. She remained the annoying girl I used to hate. "And there was this one time I caught my friend stalking this girl, hahaha!"Her stories never ends."Xia…""There was a weird rumor about the girl she was looking up though.""Uhm Xia.""They said the girl had a twin brother that died, but others said that the girl used to be a guy and became a transwoman.""…" it was impossible! She just won't listen! And the talk goes on and on, and on. I thought I'll remain a listener throughout the whole conversation but then she gave me a way to speak. "So, what about you? You've been awfully silent." She l
