Chapter 2: Running To A New Fate.

Chapter 2: Running To A New Fate.

Morana’s point of view

“You bastard should rot in hell!” I yelled with my voice filled with pain, removing the knife and about to stab him somewhere else when he halted my action, his hand holding the knife and stopping it hanging in the air before it could stab his heart like I wanted.

That moment was when I realized how deep in trouble I had placed myself. I should have thought this through before acting out impulsively.

“What did I ever do to you Boden? Why are you always doing this to me.” I cried out to him in pure pain not realizing I had addressed him by his name without the title, the injury I caused him already healing up so quickly it was as if they never were invented.

Before I could phantom the situation he grabbed me by my shoulder pulling me inside and in a swift I was pinned against the wall at the entry side, gripping the hand where I held the knife and twisting it hard. I moaned out in a voiceless tone at the pain while the knife fell out of my hand.

His claws extended out of his fingers that held on my shoulder as he pressed it harshly against the skin piercing deep on the soft layer. I winced at the hurtful twinge, my expression scrunched up in endurance.

“How dare you?” His angry tone growled at me with his eyes beaming with anger, “How dare you stab me twice and disrespect my privacy?” Rage swarmed largely around his aura and just opposing his side I could feel the intensity.

He pulled out the claws stuck into my right shoulder, and I could only yelp with my breathing falling short.

Still longing for peace, his left hand that just left my shoulder went up and descended right on my face with the claws slashing across my cheek and drawing cuts that has blood spilling out.

I sobbed out in pain, tears flowing down my cheeks and watering the freshly invented cut on it.

“I will teach you an unforgettable lesson!” He sentenced in his firm dark voice, then he went silent and that only made me believe he was mind linking.

He threw me away roughly pulling his second hand out of my shoulder and I landed on the ground with a loud thud, blood oozing out of different places in my blood.

I instantly became disgusted by my appearances. Soon enough guards came into the room, gracing scene and grabbing me by my arms and leading me out of the room.

We went straight down the hallway, down the stairs and out of the Pack house. Outside I could see other Pack members coming out of their rooms as well, murmurs and grumbles about me rattling amidst them as they gawked with aversion the guards dragging me away.

I was taken outside the Pack house, and brought to the open field with the guards tightening their restraint on my arms.

The field was now getting crowded by other Pack members who gathered looking at me with confused faces wondering what was going on.

My eyes racked through the gathering, soon they caught sight of him; Alpha Boden as he walked out of the Pack House.

He approached the field with the most deadly look on his face. Seeing him look like this I can’t help but be terrified with whatever he had planned to do with me. Fear sipped through my system as I wondered what plays right now in his wicked mind.

“Silence!” His voice hulled with audacity, racking through the gathering as they seized their murmurings immediately, “Tonight, this useless lowlife omega here crossed a line she should have never crossed. She stabbed me, and stomp on my honor.” His gaze trailed slowly to where I was held, “So tonight, I will teach her a lesson she’ll never forget.”

I cried silently in my mind, not wanting to guess what he has in store to do to me. Would he order for me to be whipped a thousand times this time around.

“Bring her out!” He screamed and that had my thought flinching on who he was referencing.

From behind I could see some guards dragging my sister out of the Pack house panicking like I have never witness before. Wait what is he going to do with her?

She was then thrown to the ground feet away from where the Alpha was.

“Ana…..!” I yelled frightened and trying to run towards her but was immediately held back and still by the guards, “Please don’t do anything to her, please I beg you don’t! Do all you want with me, but don’t you dare go near my sister!” My voice flayed out in a high pitched tone, tears already burning down my cheek.

“Please I beg you dearly, please leave her out of this, I am the one who disrespected you and intruded your privacy not her, so please don’t hurt her and hurt me instead.”

The side of his lips turned up in a maniacal glint. “I would have listen but then the lesson won’t be unforgettable like I wish for. With her, you’ll always remember your place and things you definitely should not do.”

His statement had merely settled in my head when I watched him covered the distance between him and my sister.

He picked her up and right in front of my eyes, he let out his claws, not minding how innocent and young she is launched different digs on her face.

Blood bathed down her face as she screamed out in total agony, done with the torture he held on the head steadying her neck as he slashed the claws across the skin that had my sister’s screaming plummeting, blood spewing out and rolling down her neck as she fell lifelessly to the ground.

I also fell to the ground slipping away from the warrior’s hold letting the banging realization that I just lost that one thing I treasured the most after losing everything as a kid went into oblivion made by death.

I ran to her dead body on the floor, lifting her up to my arms and looking into her dead eyes.

“Talk to me Ana, talk to me, talk to me please!” I howled in deep pain, uncontrollable tears tumbling down my cheeks.

“Noooooooooooo!” I shrieked out loudly in pain, on the ground with her dead body in my arms. He killed her just because I disrespected and intruded his privacy like he said. He took away the one thing left in my entire life.

Right there at this moment, I vowed to myself, to make him pay, I silently promise to grow strong and avenge all the pains he has caused me, this particular lesson he taught me.

A lesson never to be forgotten.

Guilt and grief devoured my soul like never before, eating me deep I couldn’t feel my existence or reality. The recovery only worsened when the Pack members took it upon themselves to taunt me about how I was the cause of my sister’s death and mocked me daily with it, the only reason I was fighting for my existence was gone and never to be seen again.

A whole week was now gone since the heinous deed was committed, since Alpha Boden had taught me a lesson by giving my sister a brutal death, weeks since I stepped into the darkest phase of my life, weeks since I couldn’t stop questioning my existence and just wanting to let it all go.

But before that,

I promised myself I would avenge her, I would teach that beast of a man a lesson for taking the one thing that keeps me alive and motivated away from me, but here I am doing nothing than grieving in a troubled solitude and despair.

‘We need to get out of here.’ Darah brought it up again, ever since he killed our sister, she has been persistent about us leaving.

Before I would oppose, but remembering the promise I made to my dead sister. I gave the wanted response.

“What’s the plan?”

The night I wanted came sooner as expected and it’s time for me to hatch out my plan. My bags were already packed and it was heaped over my shoulder as I made my way out of the basement.

I was sure they all would be asleep, I went to the healing house to ask for some drugs earlier knowing they wouldn’t give me. It was actually to steal a sleeping portion.

And since I’m in charge of cooking the dinner for the whole Pack, that made my plan easier.

I added the portion to the dinner that was served to everyone, and now they must be deep in slumber.

I walked through the hallway and as expected, it was silent as well as empty.

I moved on a light feet, avoiding my body or anything that comes from me from touching things that could make the slightest noise.

I left the Pack house successfully without getting caught by the guards on watch; I don’t think they had some of the dinner prepared.

I ran further into the thick forest, my legs wobbling against the cold floor, adapting to the little pain caused by the paths filled with broken thorns and other things.

I made it to the border and manage to evade the patrols without their notice, finally going off the border.

I dropped the sack that had my belongings, a smile on my face because of what I’m about to do.

“I Arya Ledger, an Omega of the BlackMoon Pack rejects you, Alpha Boden from being my mate and from this moment I chose to be a rogue.” With that said I could feel the connection and ties I shared with him all severing.

I summoned my wolf, letting her morphed into sight as she took control. She walked over to where I dumped the sack, picking it in between her mouth as she began running, running deep under the half moonlight into the forest. I’m now a rogue and I have no idea what awaits me.

But something tells me there’s still a chance ahead of me, a chance for happiness. My escape from this hell is not the end, it is rather the beginning of a new freedom, one that comes with all I have ever craved.

We kept running even though we were now tired, my throat itched badly for hydration.

‘Darah you can stop if you find any stream nearby!’ I told my wolf, she’s unable to reply because of the sack in her mouth. She needs the hydration to keep her strength reformed and stable.

She kept running and we eventually we found a clean river. We stopped there to have a little drink, she needed it and I also needed it.

I don’t know how far we are from the pack, but I’m sure we’re far but I still need us to be far far away from there. To be far to a distance where he wouldn’t be chase us down if he decided to.

‘Let’s keep moving Darah, we need to keep moving and we can’t possible rest here, it’s opened for anything dangerous to come for us and we’re not very far from Boden.’

“Yeah.” She agreed with me, leaping back on her paws as we continued our journey, not really knowing where we are going.

The night shrunk further into darkness and the cold breeze of autumn slashed it wind on our furs, and for so long we kept running relentless. I could only guess how long we’ve been running.

A safe tract of land mopped into our sight, ‘We can rest here and continue tomorrow.’ I referred to the cleared lot.

She dropped the sack, instantly giving me control as I shifted back to my physical form. I drew out some clothes from the sack and clothed my nakedness before falling to the ground to close my eyes, intending to spend the night there.

We were about to sleep when a sudden feeling of excitement rushed over Darah and me.

‘What’s that?’ I asked, but her response was interrupted by the rustling amidst the bushes ahead of us.

My instinct knocked and I sat up instantly, using my enhanced vision to navigate the darkness but nothing was getting detected.

Five scary looking wolves jumped out of nowhere from the bushes direction. I jerked from where I sat, my skin tingling from the fearful aura radiating their presence.

My eyes inspected them, to know whether or not I was in danger. They don’t look like rogues, rogues won’t be this clean. They’re mostly scrawny and dirty with their ferocious appearance.

They look nothing like that and rather like a trained warrior from a pack, with their fangs prowling in the air and eyes scanning me from where I sat.

Are we in another pack already. They snarled furiously at me. Darah immediately took control feeling threatened.

We manage to get on our feet, Darah taking a defensive stance. Just then she caught a whiff of something.

A heavenly scent.

It filled us up and smelt so amazing. The scent was woodsy, mixed with roses and a faint tint of vanilla. My nose tingled with the sweetness blessing it nostrils and I was forced to flapped my eyes close to relish the blissful scent.

The thought crept into my mind. My eyes opened when the scent blew stronger.

Witnessing a big gray colored wolf jumped in front of the five ones and me, staging himself between the warriors us, so big I have never seen a wolf this size in my entire pathetic life.

It was the biggest wolf I have ever seen, with the regal appearance and an aura so intimidating I badly wanted to fold if it wasn’t for the scene keeping my wolffish eyes on him.

He sized me up, those gleaming black eyes under the moonlight, tension airing through the moment. The unique smell rushing out more heavily with all touch of bliss since we’re now closer.

In awe, ‘Mate.’ The word left Darah’s mouth. Piercing my ears and his.
