10: A New Marriage Is Arranged

Who the hell was this Wulfgar? Carra was really depressed at the thought. Why did she just managed to get out of one arranged marriage, only to have another one so soon? Couldn't they let her be in peace, even for a moment?

Meanwhile, Nella and Vira were very happy to learn that the king gave the marriage arrangement his approval. But when they heard that the groom of the marriage was prince Wulfgar, their facial expressions were like eggplants that were smashed by frost. They had bitter melon faces, as if they had eaten a great deal of bitter leaves.

"What's the matter? Is there a problem with this prince Wulfgar?" Carra asked puzzledly. She searched the memory of the original owner, but couldn't find anything significant. The two had never met before. There was no information about this prince Wulfgar.

It was no wonder that the original owner had been living a life of ignorance of things outside her oak windows, and only wanted to live a stable life, and could not demand her understanding of current affairs and politics of the empire.

"Miss, it's not just a problem, it's a big problem!" Nella said with a worried look.

"Huh?"

"Miss, this prince Wulfgar, not only is he crippled, but I also heard..." Nella hesitated for a long time, still unable to speak.

Vira sighed beside her, and then said. "Miss, there's a rumor that not only is prince Wulfgar paralyzed, but he is also vicious. Totally inhumane."

Inhumane? After digesting it in her mind, Carra couldn't help but feel it a little weird and funny. She knew it was easy for people to exaggerate the inhumane aspect of another human being there barely saw or knew. Everybody knew that the gossip ability of the people in this empire, especially the capital, was really extraordinary.

Thinking of this, she chuckled slightly, and said, "Isn't this great?"

"What? Very good? What's good about this?"

"If this prince Wulfgar is savage, how is this different from marriage in the past for any girl?"

Nella and Vira looked at their young lady with wide-eyed eyes. The young lady wasn't really frightened? Something must be seriously wrong with her. Ever since the fire, the young lady's behavior had been questionable. Could it be that the fire not only damage our young lady's face, but also her brain?

Carra looked at their dumbfounded expressions, and was secretly amused. "Don't worry, I know that nothing bad will happen."

As the groom of her future marriage, Carra specifically inquired about Wulfgar and the Arthurian legacies, and felt that the old king's lineage and, the groom of the arranged marriage, was just what she wanted. Nonetheless, she concluded it would be better if she didn't get married now.

Although prince Wulfgar was of the royal family, uncontrollable circumstances made him grew up in the care of general Wulfnar. The house of general Wulfnar was very famous in the Arthurian Dynasty. The former general Wulfgar was an admired hero throughout the world.

Their house fought against the vampire and marba empires, throughout their lives, defended their homes and country, and repelled countless infringements by small border countries such as Incuba and Mirro.

It was a pity that the general, and his father before him, died young. Neither of them lived beyond the age of forty. When the predecessor Wulfnar died in battle, the current prince Wulfgar was only sixteen years old.

The people of the house of Wulfnar were generally few. A few years after the death of the former war general of the Arthurian empire, Wulfnar, the former Princess, Pinwulf, also died of depression. Since then, Wulfgar had been supporting the entire family business of the Wulfnar house with a weak body. It had been seven years since the incident.

Regarding the battle seven years ago, the people in the capital still couldn't help but sigh.

At that time, Vampire nation's hundreds of vamp army invaded the border and seized three cities in a row within a month. Arken Pass was the next place to be besieged. The whole country was alarmed and the people were afraid. If Arken Pass was broken, vampire army could drive straight in and set their eyes on the capital.

As the known predecessor to the late general, general Wulfnar was ordered to support Arken Pass with an army of hundreds. Within ten days he forced the enemy to retreat for thirty miles and regained two cities.

However, when he reached Amber City, he encountered the enemy's main attack, and was seriously injured, putting him in danger.

Wulfgar rushed to the battlefield alone to save his known father and drive the vampire army out of the border. When he returned to the king's court, he only brought back the ashes of the former general, Wulfnar. What more, he was also scarred, with his legs practically crippled.

After that, Wulfgar succeeded to the lordship of the house of Wulfnar, staying deep in the castle, living in a simple way and avoiding visitors. So, the house of Wulfgar gradually faded out of people's sight.

Although Carra had never seen Wulfgar, in these descriptions, she could still imagine how proud Wulfgar was before the fact that his legs were enow disabled and became a useless person. How could he bear it?

But for her, Wulfgar was really a better candidate than those who were healthy princes and grandsons. Physically disabled and inhumane? Then he wouldn't be able to have mistresses, so why would she be upset?

Both parents were dead, and the people in his castle were few? Then it showed that the personnel relations of the Wulfgar castle were simple, and she didn't need to worry much about the in-laws.

Cold hearted and unfeeling, with indifferent personality? So did it mean that there would be plenty of free space for her in her future marriage life?

Just as Carra secretly made her own small calculations, another news came.

Prince Wulfgar had asked the king for an order.

"Due to his physical illness, he had not recovered yet. He implored the king to postpone the marriage by one year. When he recovered without any problems, then he would marry according to the king's order."

Prince Wulfgar enquired king Eadwulf to amend the decree. Everyone knew that prince Wulfgar was sick and weak. He did not directly refuse to marry but only postponed the date of marriage. He already gave the king a lot of face, and king Eadwulf naturally knew the truth of acceptance when he saw it good.

When Carra heard this news, she couldn't help but give prince Wulfgar a thumbs up. Look at how good people said what they said. If one year later the body still did not recover, the marriage date could naturally be delayed further. After all, no one could guarantee when prince Wulfgar's body would recover, and to what extent he would be able to marry.

Since Wulfgar was so "compassionate" to her, she naturally wanted to appreciate him. It's just that other people might not think so, such as Angela and Audrey. Because Audrey was about to marry into the Royal Palace too, the mother and daughter had recently become more rampant in their behaviors.

Seeing that Carra actually didn't even look down on them for having a crippled down-and-out Lycan prince as a future husband, who deliberately delayed the marriage date, it was on many occasions she was mocked openly and secretly.

Their arrogance in front of Carra became more and more vivid.

Lord Livingstone was not concerned about prince Wulfgar's delay in his marriage. He didn't even care much about this eldest daughter in the first place. Anyway, the king's imperial decree for marriage had been issued. There was no difference to him.

Although Angela had guessed right about prince Wulfgar's thoughts, she was still a little bit jealous of prince Wulfgar's decision to marry Carra. So she could only watch the event as it unfolded.

Carra herself was calm and gentle, as if the protagonist of this incident was not herself. If the marriage is agreed, then she could get the inheritance left by her mother. So when she saw lord Livingstone that day, she asked him whether her marriage was settled, and whether the money left by her mother to Angela could now be handed over to her.

She could remember that her mother's last words were that Angela would hand over the inheritance to Carra when she was of age. Now that she was eighteen, it was logical that Angela should have handed it over.

Hearing of this matter, lord Livingstone was also in agreement. So he called Angela and asked her to transfer the list of inheritance left by Sophia to Carra.
