“Who are you?”

He didn't answer my question.

Instead, his voice came low, smooth as smoke. “Can't you smell my rank?”

I frowned. “What?”

“Your wolf,” he said. “She should tell you what I am.”

I gave a short laugh, the kind that sounded more like defeat. “She doesn't talk to me anymore.”

He tilted his head slightly, those gray eyes watching me like I was a puzzle. “Doesn't talk to you?”

“Not since my father was arrested,” I said quietly, my fingers tracing the rim of my glass. “I've lost everything that made me who I was. My wolf, my strength… even my scent feels weaker. I'm practically human now.”

He leaned back in his seat. “Alpha's daughter, right?”

I nodded, forcing a smile that didn't reach my eyes. “Used to be. Now I'm just the girl living in the Omega quarters. My father's gone, my title's gone, and the son of a bitch who made it happen is still out there, pretending to be a saint.” I took a long sip, the liquor burning my throat harshly.

His gaze sharpened. “Name?”

“Alpha Devon,” I said with a bitter edge, throwing back another shot. “Ever heard of him?”

A small pause. Then his tone dropped, quiet but deadly. “Should I kill him?”

That made me laugh for real this time. It was an unsteady, tipsy laugh that cracked through the noisy air. “You can't kill him. No one can. He's powerful, protected. Untouchable.”

“Every untouchable person,” he said coolly, “has someone who can challenge them.”

I raised a brow, smirking despite myself. “Can you?”

His lips curved into the faintest, most dangerous smile I'd ever seen. “If you let me.”

That answer made my pulse stutter. I stared at him, searching for something, maybe truth, humor, madness. But all I found was steady confidence, the kind that came from someone who'd seen darkness and made peace with it.

“Who are you?” I asked again.

He didn't answer right away. Instead, he leaned forward slightly, elbows on his knees, his voice low and deliberate. “I'm someone who just met a girl he'd really like to kiss.”

For a second, I forgot how to breathe.

The world went still, the laughter, the clinking glasses, the music in the background, all of it faded. It was just him and me.

We held each other's gaze, something magnetic pulling at the air between us. I could feel it all, the gravity, the heat, the danger.

Then he leaned closer, his breath brushing my ear. “I'm staying in one of the cabins at the Pack house. Come with me.”

I blinked, thrown off balance. “You don't even know me.”

“Maybe not,” he said softly, “but I'd like to.”

My heart thudded, uneven and wild. “And why should I?”

His smile deepened. “Because you want to forget. And I can help you do that.”

He wasn't wrong.

I hesitated, staring at the amber liquid in my glass before setting it down. “Fine,” I said. “But only because I miss the life I used to have — the expensive drinks, the nice cars, the illusion of control.”

“Of course,” he said, standing and offering his hand. “Whatever reason you need.”

I looked at his hand for a moment before slipping mine into it. His grip was firm, warm, steady.

He led me through the bar, his height and presence interrupting through the crowd like a blade. Outside, the cold night air hit my face, the scent of woods and rain wrapping around us.

A sleek black SUV sat parked right by the curb. He opened the passenger door for me, the faintest hint of a smirk tugging at his lips.

“Get in.”

I did.

He rounded the hood and slid into the driver's seat, his movements smooth and controlled. The engine came alive with a deep growl.

For the next few minutes, silence settled between us, the good kind of silence. The kind of silence that is charged with questions neither of us wanted to ask yet.

I watched him as he drove, his hand loose on the wheel, his eyes fixed on the road. The white shirt beneath his dark coat was open at the collar, revealing a hint of skin. Everything about him screamed control, effortless, dangerous, quiet control.

“Still not telling me your name?” I asked finally.

He glanced at me briefly. “Names ruin things too soon.”

I laughed softly. “You sound like trouble.”

“Maybe,” he said, “but so do you.”

The SUV turned off the main road, gravel crunching under the tires as we pulled up in front of one of the guest cabins — a two-story timber lodge with dim lights glowing from within.

Before I could control my fingers, they wrapped around his neck and I pulled him in for a kiss. He welcomes it, kissing me right back, his lips soft and cold.

When we pulled away, we hold each other's gaze, the intensity of his icy gaze making my stomach turn. “Promise to fuck me till I forget my problems and most especially, till I forget that devilish Alpha that cost me my family and more?”

His thumb brushed my lips as he murmured back, “I cross my heart and I hope to die.”

The way he whispered those words was so hot that I felt heat travelling between my upper thighs.

We withdrew.

“Visitors stay here,” I murmured, looking back at the beautiful cabin.

He cut the engine, stepping out. “Good thing I'm a visitor then.”

When I got out of the car, he was already holding the cabin door open. I hesitated on the threshold, glancing up at him. “You really don't waste time, do you?”

His eyes locked with mine, voice rougher this time. “Not when I know what I want.”

He shut the door behind us and before I could speak, his hands found my waist, pulling me in.

The kiss came like a storm. It was sudden, consuming, impossible to resist. My back hit the wall, his rock body pressed against mine, and my mind went blank.

His mouth was demanding, his touch firm but careful, as if testing boundaries I didn't even know I had. I didn't pull away. I didn't want to.

He broke the kiss, just to run his hand over my body through my mini dress, stopping at my breast to cup. He leaned into me again, teeth on the sensitive spot on my neck, scraping and leaving hickeys I knew I'd have to hide for a while, his hand still moulding and kneading my breast.

His tongue darted out to lick the spot he had scraped on my neck. Then, slowly, he traced his tongue up to my ear then to my cheek and jaw finally, he returned back to my lips, licking and kissing hungrily.

My fingers tangled in his hair, tugging slightly. He groaned against my lips, and the sound sent heat rushing through me. He kissed desperately, as if I was his last meal. He bit on my lips and sucked, kissing with a desperation I just discovered.

I've never been kissed so roughly and desperately before. And compared to this, Simon was a horrible kisser.

He broke the kiss for a while, his hand on my jaw pried my mouth open and he slipped his tongue through, sweeping every area inside my mouth.

I moaned into his mouth when I felt his hardness pressing into me, bringing one of my leg to wrap around his waist to feel his hardness even more.

I did. Through his pants. And, he grinds into me, dryhumping me right against the wall.

He broke the kiss only long enough to whisper against my skin, “You taste like fire.”

“Maybe you should be careful then,” I whispered back, breathless from the kiss.

He chuckled lowly, brushing his lips along my jaw before lifting me effortlessly, his hands gripping my thighs. I gasped, instinctively wrapping my second leg around him.

Every step he took sounded through the quiet cabin, up the stairs, down the hall, until we reached a door.

He pushed the door open and walked us in.

He set me down gently on the edge of the bed, his gaze tracing my face like he was memorizing every inch. I didn't get time to study my environment because in a second, he hovered over me and laid on me. And, it was dim. The only light was from a bedside lamp. I take off his overcoat, throwing it at the corner of the room.

He takes off his shirt, my eyes widening slightly when I see that tattoo.

Silvercrest tattoo...

Silvercrest??

Still, I sat up to accomodate him when he leaned down on me again, my hand running over his hard chest. I sat up slightly, my gaze pinned on his in the dim room, his hand moved under to lift the skirt of my dress up, his fingers brushing over my opening through my panties.

“You are from Silvercrest?”

I asked as he slips one finger in. I bit down on my lips to suppress the moan.

“What? Is that a taboo?” He murmured, slipping the second and third finger in. Another moan escaped me.

He starts thrusting.

“I hate your Alpha which makes me hate every member of the Pack, too. But, why are you so good at—ahhh.” I shut my eyes, succumbing to the pleasure of his fingers sliding in and out of me.

“Do you think I'm different from the Alpha?” He says, adding a fourth finger.

I moaned loudly, hands holding onto the hard plane of his shoulders.

“No, I feel like—ahhh.” I bit down on my lips and swallowed. “I feel like you are hold a high position, though.”

“Hmm hmm?” Was his response.

I had nothing to say to that because I was close.

Suddenly, he stopped. Sliding his fingers out.

I gasped. “Why did you stop?”

He ignored my question, moving to unbuckle the belt of his pants, “Do you have a boyfriend?”

I chuckled, watching him take off his pants. “You think if I did, I'd be doing this with you?”

He settled on top of me again, in only his brief. “I don't know, If I had a partner, I would still do this with you, darling.” He held eye contact as he settled himself on me again, grinding and thrusting.

I swallowed, taking in the pleasure of his hardness pressing down on my soaked panties.

“You ask a lot of questions for someone who won't even tell me his name.”

He caught my wrist gently. “At least, you know what Pack I hail from. Names can wait.” His tone softened. “Do you trust me?”

“No,” I said honestly.

That made him smile. “Smart girl.”

He pinned my wrist over my head. Only making me realise at that moment that he had a wrist watch on. It looked like a rolex. No, it was a rolex.

Do they have that much money in Silvercrest?

He lifted my dress and pulled off my panties, hardness pressing onto me.

“Hey, do you...” I swallowed, “are you his beta? I mean, even random elites werewolves shouldn't be rich enough to afford a rolex, right?”

A smirked touched the corner of his lips. “Do the math.”

...and he slid in slowly, maintaining eye contact with me. I frowned and shut my eyes at the pain of his length stretching me but his voice cut through, “Hey, baby. You look at me when I fuck you, alright?”

I nodded and kept eye contact with him as he proceeded sliding in and out, stretching me, more and more. Pain turned into pleasures. Gasps turned into moans. My moans feel the air.

He moans were coming in short gasps and he muttered something like, “Fuck. You feel so good, baby,” along the line.

But, i wasn't paying attention. My mind was clouded as I stared at the key card entry to the cabin sitting on the bedside table. It was gold. The cabin was a suite, only VIPs like Alphas get to stay in the cabin.

Yet, the pleasures from his thrust mixed with the suspicion clawing at my stomach was a perfect combination.

His other hand that wore the rolex claimed my jaw, just as his pace increased.

My legs wrapped around his waist.

As my climax climbed, he slowed his pace, pushing his thumb into my mouth. My mouth opens willingly, my moans muffled by his thumb in my mouth.

The slow pace of his length sliding in and out driving me insane. I pushed back, pushing him to lay back on the bed as I climbed on him, twisting and grinding my waist against his length.

His hand grabbed onto my butt cheek, kneading as I ride on him even faster. His lips parted in moans, my hand caressing his Silvercrest tattoo, our eyes locked. Just like that.

Nothing in the world mattered, not even the climax that was approaching again.

There was something in his eyes. Like, a truth he wasn't ready to spill.

I leaned into him just as I reached my edge, slowing my space, grinding and twisting my waist slowly on his groin. Bouncing carefully, I leaned further to place a kiss on his lips which turned into a rough kiss of sucking and bitting.

When my warm release poured, we didn't break the kiss, neither of us wanted to. And when he reached his, he didnt pull out.

Finally, we broke the kiss. He was the first to speak in a hushed tone, “You look breathtaking, my sweet angel.”

Damn him for still making my pulse race.I slid up beside his throne and rested my hand on his shoulder, leaning in like the perfect Luna. “Alpha, you handled the border issue perfectly this morning. The pack feels safer with you in charge.”Devon turned his head, one brow lifting. His hand covered mine, squeezing hard enough to warn. “Playing devoted wife today, Irene?
