Rocket is in a very revealing white one-piece that barely covers her intimates. Gold pumps, massive white and gold wings, her hair is curled to perfection. She's inside a glass birdcage dancing. She has this distant look in her eyes as she sways offbeat to the music playing. She seems to be in her own little bubble. This isn't good. We're going to have to break this in her. There is no way Jay is going to let her stay with us while she's like this.
"Really?" I turn my displeasure to Leelie. How could she let this happen?
"She likes to party but she doesn't like to be touched like those," Leelie ignores my snide.
"How do we get to her?" Miles asks. He's just as upset as I am to find her this way.
"They ar
JaykobThe black i8 pulls in behind the truck as I walk out to see if my sister is hurt. I go for my gun aiming it at the car as the suicide door lifts. When she smiles at me I lower it. Dagmar shuts it coming around and tossing the keys at me as she walks inside like she hadn't just pulled in with a hundred-and-fifty thousand dollar car. "What the fuck is this?" I ask."The owner doesn't need it anymore. She let me have it," she calls back. Miles smacks my back."This is hers. She earned it," he says. Leelie takes Rocket out of the back of the truck."Remember when we said she might not be as bad as you?" Leelie asks, throwi
Leelie"Are you fucking insane?" Miles shouts, running towards us.Jaykob goes completely limp in my arms. I slowly put him down laying him on the carpet. I get up to see this little girl with her friend's throat firmly gripped in her fist. From day one, from the moment Jaykob introduced me to his little sister, I knew they had an insanely close bond. This is the reason why Warheads were hunted during the cleansing. They feared us forming ranks and here it is. Alpha and Beta. When she finally got what she wanted, it was like life smacked into her and the only thing that is ever going to matter to her is Jaykob. Even if Miles and Micca claim her and she claims them, Jayk will always be her main priority.
Leelie. 15 Years Ago... "You don't get it! She's going to kill everyone. She's not like us. She's going to destroy us. She needs to die. Kill her before it's too late," his mother screams at him as he stands protectively in front of the little girl she drugged so she wouldn't feel any pain a she killed her. "She's a baby," Jayk cries. "She's your baby, mom. No!" "Jayk, baby. She's an abomination," his mother cries, her voice and her eyes crazed with intent. Intent Warheads experience when they need to feed the disease. She hasn't killed in weeks preparing for this moment. Dagmar is the prettiest little girl I have ever met. She had just turned three and I had never seen anyone look at another person the way Jaykob l
Ghost is running up and down the hall playing with her new ball. She takes it in her mouth and then throws it. She'll watch it roll away and then go after it happily. I'm here for the show she's putting on. I love the way her huge floppy ears just whip back and forth. She doesn't know she's a big-ass dog and it's hilarious.I promised Jayk that I would go out and make my presence known. We needed to bait the Beta house and I have to be the bait."I got you something," I looked up at Micca and Miles who walked in with a few boxes in their arms."You mean some things?" I ask. They set the baby blue gift-wrapped boxes with black bows in front of me. The two stand there with their arms crossed looking
Jaykob "You're really going to let the twins sleep in the same room as your sister? Both of them?" Leelie asks as some of the guys bring my things into what used to be Dagmar's room. "They're her mates. She's not rejecting them," I shrug. I make my way to the kitchen. I'm not exactly hungry but I can use something sweet. "Jay, you know I'm all for giving the three of them what they want but pushing them into this is not how we should approach it. Especially with Micca. He's-" she lets out a heavy sigh. "You've been really hard on him from the start, Jay. The kid has some pretty ugly habits. Exposing Mars to that-" "Leelie, they're not kids anymore," I dismiss her. "The full moon is tonight. Dagmar will shift and this discussion will be pointless," Micca storms down the stairs and drops into the black leather couch in the living room. The scent of anger follows. Miles comes in with Ghost prancing behind
A little past ten p.m. my heart started racing for no reason and it hasn't slowed. I'm sitting outside alone with only my thoughts to accompany me. Jaykob isn't sure how violent my shift will be and thought it would be best if they weren't too close while it happened. I am a few minutes away from coming of age. I should be worried about my shift, but I can't stop thinking about what Jaykob said to me earlier tonight. Micca is an omega. A trait inherited by one of his parents, most likely his mother as her firstborn. Male omegas are rare nowadays. They were the first to be killed off when the world went to shit. The packs only kept the females to use them as breeders. High-rank females don't often make it through their pregnancies, but omega females can have kids back to back throughout their life spans without any problems. Male omegas were used for a completely different reason. They have this irresistible charm about them. From the way they look down to
Jaykob's wolf is a huge silverback. I'd never seen him shift before and it isn't very comforting. His aura screams alpha more than it had before. I feel it now. The power radiating off him is terrifying. Warheads were never supposed to be able to take rank. We were experiments created by wolves who had once been human. When they realized that former humans couldn't rise in rank the way born wolves do, they did what humans do best. They took things too far. The first group of Warheads was called The Plague. Unlike us, these wolves weren't genetically created through our parents. They were altered as teenagers just before their first shift and it broke something inside of them. They became machines used to hunt down alphas and omegas. They weren't sentient. At least, not in their wolf form. And they only answered to their creator. Dr. Ahamed Patel. The leading specialist in former shifter genetics. He became a target by the first pack alliance ever c
Fog sets over the wet grass in the late hours of the night. The lights aren't as bright as they had been when Jayk first brought me here. I feel the morning dew damping my fur and I know that I have to head back soon. I figure I can find my way back on my own. The reason for it is because I know what I'm going home to. I've been mentally preparing for it for a while now and I can easily say that I don't know if I'm ready. Yet, I feel a little excited. More than that, I feel eager to see Miles. We've gotten close lately. He holds back because he has so much to tell me. Things that include Micca and he wants him to be there for that. As the dominant of the three of us, I don't know how our relationship is going to work. Especially now that I know that Micca is an omega. I was worried before, but now I feel it more. I understand why he did what he did, I just don't understand why he fucking did it in the room across from me. He and I are going to bump heads
