Chapter 3 Deal

Sarah

As we both came out of the car I wanted to ask him what he does to acquire this type of mansion. I badly wanted to ask but then I remembered my situation and I'm definitely in no place to ask that type of question right now. He led me into his mansion while the rest of the officers stood outside. 

Seeing how he's being respected and how other officers took commands from him, I know he's not just some regular officer, he's definitely a high ranking army, at this point my baby has fallen asleep. As we stepped into the mansion I was blown away, I used to think my ex husband is wealthy but right now it seems like I misinterpreted rich and wealth cause right now I think this place is the real definition of wealth.

“Lay your baby down here, we can go outside and talk” He said to me as we both walked into a room, I walked to the bed and gently lay down my baby boy, after which I gently patted him and we both left the room. I was walking behind him while he led the way, he got to a place that looks like a living room and stopped he pointed at one of the couch, 

“You may sit” 

I gently sat down, while he sat on the couch opposite mine, and that's when I took the time to look at him. He has a cold demeanor, he looks so gallant like a soldier, his military uniform tells it all, he's not the type of person you play with.

“What happened to you, why were you lost standing in the middle of the road, you could have gotten yourself and your child killed?” I was surprised at how calm his voice is, I took a deep sigh.

“My ex husband divorced me and sent me and my child packing, I wasn't trying to get my child or myself killed, I was just lost for a moment”

“That was carelessness you have a child with you, no matter what you're going through you have your child, I could sue you for that you know right?” 

I looked into his eyes and I know he meant every word he said

“I'm sorry, I was just confused, everything happened so fast in one freaking day and it's almost driving me crazy” My tears blurred my vision, and before I could even sniff them back, they fell on their own. 

He didn't say anything to me again and minutes passed, he allowed me to cry as much as I want till my tears were no longer falling,

“What's your name?” 

“Sarah, I'm Sarah Louise”

“I'm General Lorenzo Apollo”

Immediately I heard that name it sounded like a bell to my ears, who haven't heard of the famous General Lorenzo matter of  fact he's Williams Arch enemy because the Apollio’s have been at the top of the game in the country because of their chains of businesses and successful wealth. Lorenzo who's known as the heir of Apollio is a very popular bachelor who's almost the heartthrob of every young lady in the United States Of America. I always hear of Williams complaining about his rival Lorenzo and even though I've not seen him before I know a lot about him all thanks to Williams.

Could it be that he knows who I am? No he doesn't, there's no way he knows me because for the past eleven years that I was married to Williams his family did not allow me to appear in public with him and that's why not a lot of people know me except for those that are close family relations.

“Thank you for saving my child and I, you took us in even without knowing who I am I'll forever be grateful to you”

“Grateful? It's not for free”

“Huh? I mean, do you want me to do something I can do anything I'm very hardworking, I can cook, clean, anything” I said all at once cause I was so nervous, if he ever send us out I might lose my mind cause I have no one, 

“I can give you and your baby a roof over your head, I can provide you guys with whatever you want, I can also give you guys protection, but you'll have to do something for me in return” 

“Whatever it is I'm ready to do anything in order to protect my son” 

He looked at me for some seconds and stood up, he took some steps further away from me and poured himself a glass of wine, as he sip from it he turned to stare at me, 

“My mother is planning to hook me up with the prime minister’s daughter but I do not want her, can you be my acting wife”

“Acting Wife?” I asked still not getting his point

“Hmmm, my parents do not live in this country, and my relationship life has always been private from the public and my family so nobody knows a thing about me, except for few trusted friends of mine, so you can act like my wife and when anybody ask about your son, we can just say it's our son”

I could not believe my ears, wait did he just say that he's willing to accept my child as his, as long as I act as his wife, 

“You're willing to accept my son as yours?” 

“It's just acting it's not that deep” He shrugged finishing his wine, 

“Is this like a contract?”

“No, it's more like an exchange, I give you what you want and you also give me what I want, and whenever you feel like you're done, or when I find the woman that I love, we can both call it a quit, so what do you say?”

I looked at him and he was staring right back at me, at least it's just to pretend as his wife, if that would give me and my son the provision and protection we needed then I can as well sacrifice that for us

“Yes I'll be the General acting wife”
