Chapter 2 Divorce

Sarah

I got back and the whole family were already gathered and seated in the living room, I saw a white paper on the table and know it's the divorce papers Williams was talking about which only means one thing, they have planned this all along and waited for me to fall into their trap, I also saw my bag packed and brought outside, I looked at Williams and he was just sitting down without saying a word to me, I ignored them all and made my way inside my baby's room, I walked in and met my baby crying, so I rushed and quickly carried him, immediately my baby felt my warmth he stopped crying and gently laid in my arms. 

I walked back to the living room and walked to the table, I picked the divorce papers, seeing that Williams has already signed his part, tears rolled down my eyes, it was then that I realized that this is finally happening, he didn't even think twice, he didn't even think about our child, 

“Williams the divorce papers said you're divorcing me and our child?”

“You read it right” He muttered and stood up

“I don't want to have anything to do with you and that baby anymore” 

“So where do you want me to go? You know I don't have anyone but you Williams” 

“Don't worry about that I'm going to write you a cheque” He said and quickly brought out a pen and a cheque book as he scribble something on it, 

“Here, is a cheque of one million dollars use it and start a new life” 

“Haha,haha” I laughed tearfully as they all looked at me like I've gone crazy, 

“Money? Really Williams, you think money is what I want after all the years we have spent together? You're paying me off?” 

“Enough Sarah, after everything you did to my brother he was sympathetic enough to give you this money, and you still stand there to question him!” Vivian yelled 

“Everything I did? Or everything you guys did? You think I don't know that you guys conspired to make this happen, I must applaud you Vivian your plan was well executed and it was due to my carelessness that I fell into your trap, but it's also Williams fault for not seeing the truth” 

I wiped my tears and looked at Williams who have no expression on his face

“Williams?” I called and took two steps close to him, 

“I'm sorry but I'm not going to accept your money, Williams we have been through so much together, after everything do you still think I'll betray you?” 

I waited for his answer but when I got non, I took that as a yes, he believed his own family lies over the woman that has endured everything for him, I smiled as tears rolled down my eyes, it felt like my life slipped away, I saw my world crashing before my eyes, and the love I thought was once unbreakable broke right before my eyes, 

“Let me have it” I said to him and took the cheque and right before him I tore the paper into pieces, 

“Read my lips Williams, if I ever step my feet out of this family, nothing in the face of this universe will make me come back, do you still want me to sign these divorce papers?”

“Fucking sign the damn papers Sarah, Williams has already found another woman and that woman is Ivy, please come in Ivy!” Vivian yelled and she came out from one of the rooms smirking. I knew it, they planned this together, they planned it all these time, they gathered and conspired against me and they succeeded.

Ivy walked up to me and stretch forth her hand

“Hey, I'm Ivy, Williams soon to be me wife” 

I ignored her handshake and she walked up to Williams stood beside him and wrapped her arms around him, 

“Yes Sarah, Ivy and I would be getting married soon, this time I'm going to listen to my family” 

“Do you know what I regret the most?” I asked him, pointing my fingers at him

“I regret wasting eleven years of my life building a worthless man like you, but I'm happy at least I have my golden baby with me” 

“Now listen to me Williams, if you have forgotten let me remind you, have you forgotten how I stood by you when all your family members were against you, when your family members mocked you because the doctor said our child cannot be born I still took the risk and went under the knife to give you a child, you have forgotten who stood by you all these years and just because of a crooked lie and confusion you became so blind and stand before me to threaten me with a divorce paper, I'll sign these papers but I promise you that you'll regret this action someday and for your family members that did this to me, time shall tell”

“You want to get rid of me so bad right? Fine but I promise you that you'll never find another like me” I angrily snatched the pen from him and sign the divorce papers and instead of dropping the papers on the table I turned to Williams 

“From today, I Sarah Lance and my child  reject you Williams Ortega from today as I step out of your life you have lost me for good, and not even the heaven will bring us together again” I flung the divorce to his face and took my bag, without saying anymore words, I left, 

Williams was once my muse, my world, my everything but now he's just an Ex-husband that will always remain in the past. 

After leaving the Ortega's mansion I don't know where else to go, life is so unfair, I laughed at my own misery, I came to Williams with nothing thinking I've found my lifetime soulmate but now I'm living with nothing, I was so lost in thoughts that I didn't know a car was coming and by the time I heard the sound of the car it was already late, but thank the universe the car stopped just inches away from me, this is what they call seeing your life flash before your eyes, the driver of the luxurious looking car came out and it turned out to be an Army officer, he began to yell at me for being careless but then another Army officer came out from the back seat the one that was shouting at me before turned and bowed to him, 

I was mesmerized looking at the man that just came out, he was crazily tall, body built and handsome is an understatement to what he is right now, but I was so miserable to admire all his features, I didn't fail to notice that he has a cold demeanor.

He walked up to me and pointed to his car, 

“Get in” He ordered, his tone was commanding, I was shocked and surprised 

“Why?” I managed to ask staring at him, or should I say his eyes, they are captivating 

“Cause you look miserable and I don't want you to die in my hands” 

So harsh, but still I needed the ride, I was about dragging my bag when he ordered for me to drop it and told the other officer to take it to the car trunk while I get on the backseat with him, my baby was already asleep in my arms and throughout the ride I keep stealing glances at him, I don't even know where we are going, 

“Uhm where are you taking me?” 

“Home, where else”
