SCARS OF DIVORCE : The General's Acting Wife

SARAH

“Sarah open the fucking door!”

“Open the door Sarah!” I heard Williams angry voice and that was when the sleep snapped from my eyes, and I sprang up from the bed, I looked beside me and was shocked to see a strange man sleeping beside me on the bed, realizing that he was half naked, I looked at myself and saw that I was just in my bra and panties, I looked around the place and it was an unfamiliar room, filled with fear and confusion I quickly pulled the sheet to cover my nudity,  immediately the door bursts open, and Williams stormed in with my sister in law Vivian by his side. 

I was so afraid yet confused on what's going on, cause I can't remember how I ended up here I don't even know what in the hell is happening 

“Williams” I called and tried to stand up from the bed but the man lying beside me wrapped his arms around me and pulled me back,

“Come on baby, where are you going?” He slurred in his sleep, I quickly pushed him away and stood up from the bed immediately, 

“Sarah, you told me you are going to be working overtime at the office, is this your work?” 

“No Williams definitely there must be a mix-up somewhere I swear I don't know what's going on I don't even know how I ended up here” I said almost like I'm going crazy cause I'm trying so hard to remember what happened but nothing is making sense to me

“Enough! Enough Sarah, how much more do you want to destroy me, how long do you want to keep lying to me?” He growl balling his fist, with anger and disappointment in his eyes, I tried walking closer to him but he pointed at me to stop

“I should have listened to my parents when they told me never to marry a girl from the slumps”

“Really Williams, you don't even believe me after everything we have been through together?” I asked in tears, seeing the man I would die for lose his trust in me all because of my carelessness 

“Shut up you piece of shit, you think you can keep on deceiving my brother with that pretentious face of yours, really Sarah? Even when you're caught in the act you still think you can defend yourself?”

“Vivian I'm telling the truth I don't know what happened? The last thing I remembered was when I was in my office working and then….and then……” I stuttered looking from right to left trying to remember what happened, but everything was just blurred and nothing was adding up, 

“Fine, let's just say this was a misunderstanding. What do you have to say about this?” Williams muttered with a white paper in his hand, I anxiously grabbed the papers with shaky hands, and as soon as I opened the paper and read the content, my whole body froze, I became terrified, I was shaking so bad as the paper fell from my hand, my jaws were literally chattering and clashing against each other, I've never been so confused in my entire life,

“No, no, no that's a lie, my child belong to Williams, I didn't have someone else's child, Williams you have to believe me, the child I had is yours, please believe me, this papers must be fake, they are not true” 

“Baby how can you say our child is someone else, I thought we agreed that you're only married to him because of his money” The strange man suddenly blurted out, I angrily walked up to him and landed a thunderous slap on his face,

“Shut up! Shut up, shut up!” I yelled to him as I broke down in tears, he tried to touch me, but I pushed him away, I was already a mess I don't even know how to defend myself at this point, I slowly began to walk to Williams, but the closer I get the more he shift backwards,

“I guess you don't have anymore lies left to tell, your cup is filled up” Vivian mocked me with a victorious smile, 

“Williams, please listen to me, you have to believe me please, our child is just three months old I swear on his life none of this is true please” I crumbled to my knees, and grabbed Williams legs, I slowly looked up but all I see was distance in his eyes, he believed them, he believed his family over me, he chose to believe the lies in front of him forgetting the woman that went through thick and thin with him, he forgot who stood by him when his own family and friends were against him, he has forgotten who went under the knife to birth him a child all of this he has forgotten and just one simple lie was all it took to destroyed what we shared that he once called unbreakable bond. 

“Sarah even until now you still chose to lie to me, I should have listened to my parents when they chose Ivy for me, they told me girls from the slumps are only after my wealth but I never listened, I thought I have found love, but it turned out the eleven years I spent with you was nothing but a lie, so I'm going to set you free” He muttered with blank expression and took two steps back, his legs which I was once holding onto was gone and now my hands hung in air, 

“No, no, no Williams I don't want to be anywhere else please I just wanted to be by your side please” 

“For staying with me for eleven years I'm going to write you a check of one million dollars, I hope it's enough for you and your baby and I'm wishing you a happy life with your new lover, the divorce papers will be ready as soon as you get home”

“No Williams you won't do that to me right? You're just joking right?” I stood up immediately panicking 

“Please Vivian you have to tell him I wasn't lying to him please, you know me Vivian I can never cheat on my husband I love him with my life please……!”

“Times up Sarah, this is the end of your game, now come home and pick that bastard of a child and leave our family for good” Vivian mocked me to my face, I watched as she left with Williams 

No, no, please don't leave me, please don't, I promise, this was a lie
