I couldn't say any other thing to Eddy before I finally decided to walk away from that situation.
I was sitting and staring into the hard wall in front of me, wondering how I could come in, bring Eddy back to his senses for Lola's sake, when a thought tore through my mind.
I may have been able to stop Lola from making that trip that moment, but I needed to make sure she didn't at all.
I have known Eddy for years, and I knew the lengths he could go for what he wanted, especially if there was an open challenge about it in front of him.
Hurriedly, I grabbed my jacket from the bed and hurried off to Lola's room, my heart threatening to break through my chest for fear that she might just be on a flight to fulfill Eddy's ego.
Before I knew it, I was sprinting across the stairs,my legs literally working faster than my mind.
Then, I was in front of her room. I didn't hesitate for a second even before pushing the door through.
Breathing heavily, I watched her jump off the bed, the sheets falling off to reveal the fact that she was still wearing the outfit from the last time I saw her, which was about three hours ago.
My brain worked for the most suitable first words as I stood there staring back at her.
"Isn't that uncomfortable to sleep in?" I finally said, letting my fear all out in one long exhale.
It took a while for her to understand what I meant as she just stared on, that was when I figured I must have woken her up.
"Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't know you were sleeping."
"No. Not at all," she protested, waving a hand absentmindedly in front of her to drive her point.
Then, withdrawing to rub her eyes vigorously.
I felt bad for barging in like I had done, but I couldn't leave just yet.
My feelings cracked open, and the emotions I had struggled to keep down all these while came rushing through.
I fought my thoughts fiercely, clasping my arms tightly across my body.
I was going to force my body out of her space if I had to, but then, her voice came again, breaking every form of defence I had built against my rising emotions before then.
"Thank you so much for standing up for me earlier. I should have met you sooner, but..." she exhaled tiredly, "...my body felt too weak, I didn't know when I slept off."
"It's no problem at all. I'm just really glad that you're fine. And I apologize for..."
"No. Not all," she barged on my voice.
"Maybe he deserved what he got," she finished, her eyes flickering restlessly like Eddy could appear from a corner and reprimand her for her words.
"Well, Lola. I was going to say, I apologize for waking you up like that."
I watched her expression run down quickly from fear, anxiety, and sadness to embarrassment and confusion.
"Oooh! Still, I would like to thank you again," she replied after a long pause that seemed more like a moment of deliberation.
My heart skittered through my chest, uncontrollably, I caught the softness of my tongue between my teeth and bit down hard on it.
I needed to leave, but I would mostly look stupid if I scurry out in the middle of our conversation like that.
"It's okay, Lola. I did what I thought was right at the moment."
"And...again."
My heart started to beat even faster.
"I am sorry about the last time. I wasn't in the right head space for the moment, and it happened too suddenly, I couldn't process it immediately..."
"Shush!" I whispered, pulling a finger across her lips to stop her from going any further.
"You don't have to say anything," I managed, my pulse increasing rapidly as I watched her chest rise and fall, it made me think about the possibility that we might be thinking the same thing.
"Connor," she called out breathily, unleashing that ferocious part of me that I had carefully tucked away for some time now.
"I think you should get out of these clothes first, it looks like you are barely putting up with the discomfort."
Her eyes flickered restlessly against my face, I was too late to read her thoughts.
I didn't see what was coming at me until she slipped her shoulders out of the sleeves of the fur coat, and my eyes met the shaping belt strapped tightly around her stomach.
Naturally, my hands moved to unbuckle it — I could not bear the thought of her reason for straddling herself like that being Eddy.
The shaper came off to reveal a thin transparent shirt stuck to her skin.
My lips trembled at the thought of what this might lead to. I couldn't even bring myself to look at her face.
I heard her groan lightly, then her bra dropped to the floor.
"Connor...," I couldn't wait to hear what her next word would be before pushing her back until she was pinned hard against the formerly empty wall behind her.
My hands worked faster than my brain, unzipping her cotton trousers to reveal the bare of her thighs and a black lacy pant.
"F*ck!" I groaned frustratingly, her soft sighs following, while her fingers dug hard against my shoulders, through the material of my jacket.
Suddenly, everything around me stilled with perfect silence.
My brain bubbled hard for a reason, a reason to stop before it went too far.
But that was all there was to it — a brief moment of trying to reach for that part of my mind that was only before I knew Lola.
Her breathing was hot against my neck, my nerves pooling across every part of my body as I reached for my d*ck, hard, erect and ready.
Pushing her head back, I dug through her panties until I was well inside her cl*t.
She didn't move.
"Are you sure?" I muttered, trying to hide how much I had waited for this moment, which was very much evident in the heaviness of my words and the passion clasped to every letter.
With her eyes shut, she nodded rapidly.
That was my cue. That was everything I needed to ram hard into her, my endorphins overflowing.
Her body jerked hard against mine, causing my length to enlarge harder inside her.
I held her shoulders back more firmly as I continued to go in and out with the shameless hunger of someone eating what was never theirs.
"I never thought there could be this moment," she stuttered inaudibly, difficult for me to piece together immediately, but when I finally got it about a couple of seconds later, I pressed down on her shoulders with even greater pressure.
"It'll be difficult to back out now."
She groaned hungrily, and I allowed a smile to cross my face.
"What if Eddy walked in on us?”
LOLACurled on the floor, in a corner of my room, I chewed continuously on my thumb nail, wondering if Freddy would ever come.If it was the time before I broke up with him to marry his brother, I would have been certain that he would be here, but times had changed. It was just so unfortunate that my thoughts were still trapped in the past."F*ck it!" I exhaled, pulling myself up from the floor. It would have been easy to go take a warm shower, eat dinner, read a book from my endless collection of e-book and rest from the long day, but that was such a pretense at living a perfect life."What do you think I want right now?" I spoke, staring expressively at the image the bathroom oval shaped and plated edges mirror returned."You are a broken woman, and you are pathetic because of that." There was a very vivid voice in my head. I hadn't said anything, but I heard it loud and clear.A smile warmed against my cheeks."Bold of you to return my question with another question," I snickered.
The arena in Lillehammer was packed so full and tight that every time the crowd surged to its feet, I bumped hard into Eddy, his gaze returning a hard warning.I was sitting between my father in-law and Eddy with my hands folded so tightly in my lap that my knuckles turned pale."There he is," Greg said, nudging me softly with his elbow, nodding towards the ice where the Norway squad was filing out in their dark blue jersey.I managed a smile, but just enough to not get Eddy pissed. I knew very well that he didn't want to be here.Anyways, watching a game like this again brought back memories I thought had faded with time.I had watched Freddy play hockey for two years —watched him skate laps on the ice until he was throwing up behind the rink, watched him tape his own fingers when the trainer wasn't looking so no one would bench him for a fracture.I knew exactly what it had cost him to be the man skating out there now, broad-shouldered, visor pushed up, tapping his stick twice again
GREGORYThe city stretched out in front of me as I gazed out of the window, the after taste of the white wine still lingering somewhere down my throat. My fingers stiffened against the glass wedged between them, still half filled. The loud thoughts I had carried carefully since the first day weighed in my chest.I grunted, clearing my throat loudly.I couldn't hold it down, but I couldn't even move forward with everything happening in my family at the moment.I knew I needed to be careful. There was the company, and the future of my sons.I knew it wasn't going to be easy. Maybe, Lola was a distraction that shouldn't even cross my mind, but I couldn't help it. Sighing, I clasped my fingers tighter around the glass, glaring hard at the landscape of the city. Lola's room was right next to mine, but what good does that even do me if I can't call her over.It just kept getting harder for me to sleep, especially with knowing she was inside, probably taking a bath or sprawled out n*ked on
FREDDYThrough practice, I couldn't stop thinking about Lola. Maybe because I knew she was watching me like old times, and it sparked feelings that ought to have stayed buried until forever.Through the banter between her, my father and Eddy, I couldn't care less. I just stayed at the parts of her body that weren't concealed under the jacket draped across her shoulders. As soon as I got the opportunity to ask, I took it, and of course, Lola couldn't say No to me.It was a little hard convincing my coach to allow me to stay outside the team house. By the time I had concluded with the boys, checked into a hotel room, got a shave and freshened up, time was far spent. As I scurried into the elevator for the fifth floor, I wondered if she was waiting up for me or perhaps, given up and gone to bed.But then, Eddy was there. I didn't expect him to be. I didn't turn back though. I hadn't made all of those arrangements to chicken out of his presence."You shouldn't have said that, Freddy. What
LOLAAnother knock broke out against my door — sharp, impatient. My breathing seized for a second."Freddy!" I muttered, clutching tight at the material initially hanging between my fingers. My eyes were watery from my own arousal, and I couldn't wait to finally be able to feel the emotions that remained unlocked in my heart. My cheeks burnt red. I was so embarrassed that I packed up the box and shoved them under the sheets.Adjusting the belt of my bath robe, I did a short breathing exercise to keep my voice firm.Clutching the knob of the door, I took one last deep breath before yanking it open.I gagged, my chest tightening to the sight in front of me. Not only did I not expect to see Eddy in front of my door by the time of the night, I was too fired up to handle whatever he had come to say.It was ridiculous, but I wondered if he was here because of what I said to him at the stadium, and I feared we might end up doing something we both would regret by morning."Hi, Eddy," my voice
LOLAWith my heart hammering hard against my chest, I hurried through the lonely path that led back to the stadium where the rest of the family ought to still be.I was sure practice had ended, and me missing right in that moment wouldn't look too good. The plan was to get there first, and then, Connor could come later.Standing before my father-in-law, all sweaty, my breathing giving away the fact that I had jogged all the way back, I thought of the best response to a question he had not even asked."We had been done for a while now. We were worried," Greg spoke, his eyes scanning every inch of my body in a way that felt rather uncomfortable.Struggling to keep my breathing steady and my shoulders up, I looked from my father-in-law to Eddy — his face was locked in an expression that told me just how much he wanted to say and how he was just waiting for the right time to come at me.Freddy was standing behind them, arms folded across his chest, skin glazed with sweat and his gaze send
LOLAIt had been about 10 minutes since both men left. Even Eddy had forgotten his search for me.As I stood there, in front of the mirror, for another 5 minutes, I couldn't believe that all was well despite having murmured it severally to my mirror image. It wasn't.Trouble was looming and it was
LOLAFredmon. My ex-boyfriend I had broken up with two years ago to marry the man who was now my husband, my nightmare.Same tall blonde with his jacket hanging loose on his arm like he was fighting the urge to leave it in the trash, his tie unknotted across his neck like a scarf, his plain shirt t
LOLAMy fingers felt numb around the glass. I had been holding it for the past thirty minutes, not bothering to taste its content."Stand close to the bar. Don't follow me around."I was standing close to the bar, just overlooking the show in front of me.The room was all golden lights, and string
Bulky. Too tight. Top part too revealing. To crown it all, I detested red for clothes, but the fitting assistant had called it "stunning" and Eddy had nodded in agreement. Now, standing in the quiet living room of our home in Malibu in that same dress, my body feeling not like mine, I waited for Ed
