Suspicious officers

"Hello, we are the police officers and we're here for a thorough examination."

As soon as this was said, Veronica's eyes widened like saucers as she stared at the door wide eyed. Carole sighed exasperated and facepalmed.

"I'm coming. Give me a minute," Veronica yelled but her actions betrayed her as she paced about in the suite.

"Who the h*ll called the police?" Veronica whispered as she bit her nails. Carole only stared at her artist like she wanted to swallow her. She didn't panic because this wasn't the first time they've been schemed against. This was an everyday routine they had to avoid.

Just as Veronica was panicking, a series of footsteps was heard outside her door followed by the yelling of someone who she made out to be a police officer.

"What are you doing? Please don't stop us from carrying out our duties unless you'll face the law," he warned but even after minutes, there was no reply.

The next minutes, the groans of pain could be heard outside her suite.

Veronica had forgotten her initial state of panic as she tried to figure out what was going on by listening to their voices. She was sure that others who stayed close to her suite would be aware of the situation outside her suite as none of the rooms were soundproofed.

With unsteady steps, Veronica walked towards the door and quietly pulled it open despite Carole's protest.

The situation before her eyes made her jump in joy and she kissed her father in her head.

'I love you, dad!' she yelled internally as she scanned the guards standing by the sides of her door.

"Where's my father?" Veronica tapped one of the guards who froze in shock and his ears immediately turned beet red. She pretended not to see the police officers who were struggling in the hands of a group of her father's guards.

"Erm...erm...boss...is on his way with the doctor. He ordered us to come ahead first," The guard shyly replied while trying to keep a strong front.

"Ma'am, they are stopping us from doing our work. Do you know them?" One of the police officers stopped struggling with the guards and stared at Veronica whose expression was nonchalant.

She turned to look at the police who spoke and noticed something weird about him.

On normal circumstances, every Police officer should have a handcuff hanging beside his trouser, around his waist and also have a logo on their shirt but this one didn't have any of it.

Suspicion grew on her face as she closely studied the police officer who was soon fidgeting on his feet.

Other artists who stayed in the suite close to Veronica's walked out of their room with different expressions on their faces. They appeared like someone whose parents had been crushed by a trailer.

The police officer who was been scrutinized by Veronica fidgeted and stopped struggling with the guards. His lips went dry as he stared at everyone but at her. He noticably began retreating in his steps but was stopped by her father's S-ranked guards.

"Hello OFFICER...?" Veronica asked, enunciating the term properly which sent shivers down the officer's spine.

"Ahem... I'm officer Jones," the officer answered, trying his best to keep his cool.

"Hello officer Jones, sorry about the situation going on here. May I know what region is officer Jones from?" Veronica smiled sweetly but the smile sent shivers down the S-ranked guards body. They were all too familiar with their boss's daughter eerie smile. Anything that came out of that smile was no good. They silently lighted a candle in their hearts for the police officers as they wondered what offence they had committed.

"How insolent of you! I came here to do my job but you're investigating me. What do you take me for?" Officer Jones yelled, immediately switching to an arrogant behavior.

"A fake," Veronica answered calmly. Meanwhile, as she turned to look at other artists, actors and actresses, she noticed some of them had their phones out, secretly taking a video of what was happening. She was no fool not to know why they were doing that rather than trying to curb the situation. She let them be because even if the videos were to get out, it'd be wiped out from the internet in the blink of an eye. This was as a result of having a powerful father who could make the whole country submit to him.

It was at this moment, she further confirmed that there were no true friends but enemies in this industry.

"How dare you? Who are you to say that? Do you know who I am?" Officer Jones yelled, pointing a finger at Veronica who calmly stood between the guards standing by her door sides.

"As you said before, you're officer Jones, but I'm still yet to know what region you came from," she calmly stated as she narrowed her eyes at him. The aura around her changed drastically from a cheerful one to a murderous one. It made everyone including the guards weak to their knees as their legs shook in fright.

The guards who were aware of the outcome of such terrifying aura quietly prayed to their ancestors to spare them.

"Hmph...how arrogant. Do you think we're here to be questioned? As an actress, don't stop us from doing our job if you don't want to face the law," officer Jones ranted with his hands on his waist.

"You do know she is an actress right? Then, do you know who she is?" One of the guards stopping officer Jones calmly asked as he stared at the officer condescendingly.

"Who is she? I don't care about who she is. Tonight, since you've stopped us from carrying out our jobs, you'll have to follow us to our station," officer Jones yelled as he glared at the

"What did you just say? " A thunderous voice was heard as steady but strong footsteps came their way.
