SELIORA POV

His voice startled me.

“I was only checking through the books, I didn't want to wake you up,” I explained to a visibly angry Kaelion. “I think I found what we are searching for, I was coming to inform you.”

I had earlier woken up before him and seeing that he was still asleep, I seized the opportunity to check through the books.

“You can search me if you don't believe,” I muttered, seeing that he looked me suspiciously. “I have nothing to hide, I meant it when I told you I was done fighting.”

His eyes scanned through my body while I maintained my gaze, I could not let him see through the little act yet.

At least not now.

“There is no need for that, what did you find?” He asked.

“Here,” I muttered, pointing to the symbol I found in one of the old books. “It says here that the mark belongs to the bloodmoon pack.”

“The bloodmoon pack?” He said, taking the book from me.

“Does the name ring a bell? Do you have any connection to the pack?” I asked, watching him stare at the book.

I was so close to the truth about knowing what happened to his pack, I could feel it.

“No,” He stated, handing the book back to me.

The blood moon was a powerful pack who were known for its ability to shapeshift. I had read about them back in my pack but could not understand why they would attack Kaelion’s pack and somehow get everyone to believe my father did it.

Something was not right.

“We have to go over to that pack and find the man in the drawing, it is the only way we will find whoever he is working with in your pack,” I said.

“We?” Kaelion asked, walking towards the door. “You do know the blood moon pack comes from one of the most powerful lineages?.

“Yes, I do. That is why you need me if you want to catch whoever this traitor is, we do not have time,” I answered, walking behind him.

“I do not need you and there is no we, Seliora. Jackson and I are going to find out who this is,” He replied, kicking the door with his leg.

I could guess what he was thinking with the rage he used in kicking the door. He was probably going to try to wipe out the blood moon pack just like he did to my pack.

“You have to do this secretly, you can not just go over there and kill every one of them without knowing the truth. Let me go with you, I can help you. You can chain me if you want,” I uttered, as the door swung wide open.

“No, Seliora!” He stated, walking out of the library but I wasn't going to give up so easily especially now that I was so close to knowing the truth.

“You have to think this through. Do you want to wage war against your pack by attacking them?” I inquired. “Think about the safety of your pack.”

After I stopped talking, Kaelion stopped walking.

“There are a million ways this can go wrong. If we do this, I am not responsible for whatever happens to you,” He stated firmly, looking back at me.

“I can take care of myself,” I responded, staring him in the eyes.

“Fine, we leave tomorrow morning,” He said finally walking away while I sighed in relief and made my way towards my room.

As I walked, I thought back to my conversation with Kaelion the previous night. I had hoped he was going to tell me how much he regretted what he did to my pack.

“Seliora,” Jackson who was right in front of my door called out to me. “Looks like you had a long night.”

“I was with Kaelion,” I responded but instantly realised how bad it sounded. “We were forced to spend the night together in the Library, the door jammed.”

“You have got him, haven't you?” He asked, with a stern face.

I had known Jackson hated me but this time it was written all over his tone and face.

“I am just trying to do all I can to get out of here alive,” I answered, wondering if he was able to see beyond my little act.

“You might have been able to convince him you have given up this time, Seliora but I know it's all bullshit. You will never be able to let go of what we did to your pack,” Jackson uttered, stepping closer towards me.

“Yes but I know when to give up trying to fight and believe it or not, I have,” I muttered, walking away as my heart raced.

If Jackson could easily see through my act, it was only a matter of time till Kaelion found out.

Without looking back, I hurried into my room and locked the door behind me. I then brought out a small old diary that I had earlier taken from the library in one of the boxes before Kaelion woke up.

“The history of the Obsidian fang pack,” The cover of the diary read, further sparking my curiosity.

After Kaelion confessed to not feeling any remorse about wiping out my pack, it only gave me more reasons to push through with my revenge plan.

I didn't care that he wanted to let me go after it was all over, all I cared about was Justice.

I instantly opened up the book and read through it but the last line at the end caught my attention.

“The Obsidian Fang pack can only be weakened by a moonstone called kysnite,” I read in a low tone with a smile on my face.

Back in my pack, Father made sure we took classes on where to find rare stones.

“I need to find a large river,” I muttered.

It was one of the places where I could find a kysnite.

This was it, all I needed to end Kaelion.

All I had to do was go on this trip with him and make him listen as the man in the drawing cleared my father's name.

Afterwards, I would lure him to a forest and weaken him with the stone.

SELIORA POVRex was dead and Zack had escaped. All in one night. All that I could get the answers I so desperately wanted were gone.Kaelion was crashing out and instructing all the guards to make sure to find Zack and bring him back to the pack while I just stared at him in silence. After getting tired of listening to Kaelion instruct his guards, I walked out of the hospital and went into my room.I then locked the door and walked over the window. I opened it up and smiled at the moon which was now at its peak.Changing into my wolf form was the only way I could release the tension of the night.I soon felt my claws emerging and my senses heightened, just seconds later, I had turned.I let out a howl then launched myself out of the window. I then ran out of the pack gate which was open and began to run through the woods.Full moons were always my favourite.I made sure to avoid the obsidian pack members and stay as far away from them as possible. They were a pack while I was a lone w

KAELION POVRex was getting away.“I will be back, Kaelion. I will come to take what is mine,” He stated, swinging the door wide open while I continued to run towards the gate.“Damn it!” I muttered as he ran out.I then reached the gate but heard a loud thud before I could go after him.“Rex,” I called out, looking out of the gate.If Rex was right about this being a bigger conspiracy that Alpha Thane was a part of, it only meant I had a huge problem. The one who orchestrated the plan to attack my pack was still out there.“Found him,” I heard, Jackson say walking into the house while dragging Rex by the legs. “I also knew the one who attacked Zack would try to finish him off.”I had never been happier to see Jackson.“Shut the gate,” I muttered, staring at the guards.Tonight was a full moon which meant I only had about two hours to get Rex to talk before transforming into my wolf form.Rex would also be transforming. He would be much stronger than he is now.“You will have to kill

SELIORA POV“Someone is here,” I whispered into Kaelion’s ear before slowly peeping into the hospital room.It was Rex.He was in the hospital room to finish what he started just like I had predicted.I could feel Kaelion’s heartbeat race as he leaned towards me and watched Rex make his way slowly towards Zack who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed.I could also feel his anger rising but this was not the time to act. I needed to see if there was anything Rex could do that which give me some clues about why he was doing this.“Stop!” Kaelion growled, rushing out of where we hid as Rex pulled a knife out of his shirt. He immediately gripped Rex’s hand while I watched the scene quietly.“I trusted you, Rex. Why would you betray the pack like this?” Kaelion asked, his voice a bit calmer this time.Rex didn’t look remorseful about what he had done. He only continued to struggle to release the knife in his hands.“Why!” Kaelion barked, finally taking the knife from him and swinging i

SELIORA POVI was completely sure of this. After Jackson had earlier announced Zack had been attacked, I was certain it must have been one of the guards.Back at my pack, there was a way I was able to determine whether a person was telling the truth or lying by listening to the sound of their heartbeats.I did the same to the guards as Jackson interrogated them about the incident. They all had slow and steady heartbeats which told me all I needed to know, they were speaking the truth. This then made me conclude the traitor was a person of a higher rank in the pack. This narrowed my options and left me with two options. Jackson and the head of the pack of soldiers, Rex.Asking Kaelion to call out all of the pack members was a way for me to search Rex’s room. The search was difficult, I had to unlock his room and hurry because he could be back in any minute. For the first two minutes, I kept searching but found nothing that could prove him guilty. Afterwards, I tried to make my way out.

KAELION POVI had nothing to do with what happened to Alpha Thane and since I would really love to explain to Seliora, I had bigger things to worry about.Jackson looked really worried.“The prisoner from the blood moon pack was attacked and almost killed in his cell,” Jackson stated. “I think this might be the same person who attacked Lexi.”“What!” I exclaimed, angrily.Enough was enough.Today was the day I was going to find whoever was doing this. The traitor in the pack had to die today.“How is he?” I asked, storming out of the office angrily with Jackson. “How did the person who did this pass through the guards without being caught?”“He is in the pack hospital. All the guards on duty have been tied down. They all claimed not to know what happened,” Jackson answered. “Whoever did this is not an ordinary pack member, he is someone who nobody would have suspected,” Seliora spoke behind me.“Gather all the pack members, Jackson,” I demanded, as we walked out of the house.Zack co

SELIORA POV“Seliora,” I heard, Kaelion call out to me while my head continued to spin. “Take deep breaths.”“I..do..not..think.. I..can,” I stuttered, running my hands through my hair.I was having an anxiety attack. The last time I had one was when my sister died years ago.“You are all right,” Kaelion said pulling me into a tight embrace while I just remained there. After a few minutes, I managed to calm down.“You good now?” He asked, breaking the hug.“Yes,” I replied, walking over to the phone which was still on the table.“Why..Father?” I asked, as my hands trembled. He has broken my trust in him. Not only that, I wondered if he was ever going to tell me the truth that Kaelion didn't threaten to kill me.He lied without hesitation.“Forgive me, Seliora. I will make sure to come get you,” He replied.“I said Why?” I yelled, picking up the phone. “You did this to our pack, you ruined everything. I defended you with all I had in me.”“It’s complicated, Seliora. I had to do it bec
