ALVINA'S POV:

When I stepped to the living room it felt like a dream at what I saw in the living room.

The living room was beautifully decorated with ballloons and different colors of light and flowers.

There were also so many people in the living room, as they saw me, they started singing happy birthday song for me, I covered my mouth in tears.

“So you guys didn't forget my birthday?”. I asked my family you were gathered in circle.

“How is it possible that we will forget your birthday silly? It was actually Pearl's idea for us not to wish you, instead she wanted us to surprise you”. Laura responded to me.

“Happy birthday to you dear”. Jade said and hugged me.

Everyone of them wished me and gave me different gift except Jade and the little girl whose name is Mabel.

“Jade, you didn't bring any gift for Alvina?”. Laura asked Jade.

“I don't have any money to buy gift for her”. Jade replied with guilt.

“It's my unfilial grandson that you should blame, he didn't even give her money to get

KIERAN'S POV:“I know,” I whispered. “And that’s what makes her dangerous. I am helpless about the whole situation”.I clenched my fists. “She’s back… and stronger.”Metatron’s eyes glowed faintly, his hands folding behind him. “Yes. And she will not stop until she destroys you and Jade.”I paced across the study, the floor creaking under my boots. “I cannot let that happen. I will protect her with all I've got.”Metatron stepped closer. “Protect? Or possess?”I froze, my jaw tight. “You know my heart, Metatron. Do not question it.”His gaze was steady. “I do know your heart, Kieran. That is why I warn you. Melanie feeds on weakness. She saw Jade’s fear of you, and she will use it.”I slammed my hand on the desk. “What choice did I have? The maids disobeyed me. If Jade had overheard too much—”“Still,” Metatron cut in, “her heart sees cruelty, not protection. Melanie’s words were not lies.”I turned away, chest burning. “She hates me already, I can feel it. And yet I cannot let her go

KIERAN'S POV:Jade’s eyes pinned me the moment she asked, her voice was sharp.“Who is Melanie?”The name struck me like lightning. For a moment, I froze. But I forced my face to calm down.“Melanie?” I repeated slowly. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”Her brows pulled together. “Don’t lie. I heard it. In my dream.”I shook my head firmly. “You’re mistaken. I don’t know anyone by that name.”She studied me closely, suspicion burning in her eyes. I kept my voice steady, softer this time.“Jade… please. Stop suspecting me. I have no bad intentions toward you.”Her shoulders tensed, but her expression wavered. She half-believed, half-doubted. I reached out carefully, brushing her arm.“Trust me. You are safe with me.”Her lips pressed into a thin line. At last she sighed and looked away. “Fine. I’ll stop asking, for now.”Relief loosened my chest. I stood. “Good. Rest. I’ll leave you.”I walked to the door, opened it, and stepped outside. Rita and June stood waiting, their heads

JADE'S POV:I sat on the bed, hugging my knees. My mind wouldn’t stop spinning. The dream about the little boy. Kieran’s harshness with the maids. His words about killing me. His claim of loving me. None of it made sense.I rubbed my forehead. “Who was that boy?” I whispered to myself. “Why does he keep calling me?”A sudden knock on the door made me jump. My chest tightened.“Who is it?” I asked sharply.“It’s us, my lady,” came Rita’s voice.“June and Rita,” June added softly.I let out a breath of relief. “Come in.”The door opened and the two girls walked inside. Their heads were lowered, and they knelt immediately.“My lady,” Rita said, her voice trembling. “Thank you for saving us.”June’s eyes were red, as if she had been crying. “You risked your life for us. We are forever grateful.”I stood quickly and went to them. “Stand up. Don’t kneel to me. Please.”They shook their heads. “We cannot, my lady,” June whispered. “You saved us. We owe you everything.”I sighed and touched t

JADE'S POV:As I stood with him, I couldn't help but be afraid. He looked so frightening.I managed to get away from his grip and then ran again.I ran down the hall, but his steps were faster. “Jade, stop!” Kieran’s voice echoed behind me.“No!” I gasped, pushing harder.A strong hand grabbed my wrist and spun me around. I crashed into his chest. His grip was firm, and unshakable.“Let me go!” I cried, struggling. He looked down at me, his eyes burning but soft at the same time. “Why are you running from me?”“Because you’re dangerous,” I spat, glaring up at him. “I heard everything that you said earlier.”His jaw tightened. “It’s not what you think.”“Then tell me what you meant,” I said bitterly. He held my arms tighter. “Because the world is cruel, Jade. And if I don’t fight, everyone I care about will die. You—” He stopped himself, breathing heavily. “You’re safe with me. Always.”I forced myself to still, though my heart still hammered. “Safe with you…” I repeated, pretending t

JADE'S POV:The darkness pressed around me.I was in the woods. The wind howled, and the trees groaned. Somewhere ahead, I heard crying.“Please… help me!”A small boy stood in the shadows. His hair was messy, his face wet with tears. His little hands shook as he reached toward me.“I’m afraid of the dark,” he sobbed. “Don’t leave me. Please, pull me out before the tunnel takes me!”I looked down and saw a dark hole opening under him. A tunnel. It pulled at his legs like a monster.“No! Give me your hand!” I cried.I stretched out my arm. My fingers almost touched his.“Help me!” His voice broke, filled with fear. But before I could grab him, the tunnel swallowed him whole. His scream echoed, then vanished.“NO!” I shouted, reaching into the empty dark.My eyes flew open.I was lying in a big bed, bigger than anything I had ever seen. My clothes were damp with sweat, my heart was also racing.“Who was that boy?” I whispered to myself. “Why did he want me?”I wiped my face and swung my

KIERAN'S POV:I sat in my study, the heavy doors closed. The candlelight flickered against the walls as Metatron stood by the window, his arms crossed. The old wizard hunched near the fire in a silent manner.I poured wine into a cup but didn’t drink. My thoughts were full of Manuel, my brothers, and Alvina. Finally, I spoke. “We need a plan. Tell me, wizard, how do we bring them back?”The old man lifted his head slowly. “My lord, it will not be easy. Melanie has bound them with dark seals. They are slaves now, body and soul.”Metatron’s golden eyes glowed faintly. “Slaves,” he repeated coldly. “She dares.”I slammed my fist on the table. “And my son? What of Manuel?”The wizard lowered his gaze. “The boy… is alive. His spirit is strong. But the portal I opened could not pull him. He resisted. He is still in the other world.”My jaw tightened. “Then we will open another portal. We will tear the veil apart if we must.”Before the wizard could answer, the door burst open.“Kieran!”I s
