I felt the prick of the knife as it sliced my skin, and blood pooled at my chest.

I winced in pain as the knife sank deeper into my skin.

In a split moment, her head snapped to the side and she fell to the floor, bleeding from her head.

I looked up and saw Elena, holding the jewelry stand in her hand, blood streaking its white exterior.

Her hands trembled and her eyes were wide at the unconscious, maybe dead, lady on the floor.

"Did... Did I... Did I kill her?" Elena said, trembling.

"We have to go," I said, grabbing her and rushing out of the store.

"Wait, are you okay?" She was rubbing the spot where blood bloomed on my chest.

I winced in pain as she touched the wound.

The tears dropped from her eyes as she withdrew her hand immediately and stared at my chest, the volume of blood increasing with each second.

"I'm okay," I said, wiping the tears she hadn't noticed were falling down her cheeks.
