Alexander thought that he had heard wrongly, but the look on Derek’s face clarified that he was dead serious.

He chuckled calmly to ease the tension that currently lingered in the atmosphere. There was no way Amelia had the right to stay over in a guest's room. That was not the norm…at least, until he made a choice of the lady he wanted to go with.

“But then, you should understand that it’s not the right thing to do. That is not how things are done here. She can’t stay over in your room, until you have decided that she is the lady you want to go with”, Alexander said, trying so hard to sound cool about the situation, even if his heart was beginning to boil.
