Amelia still gaped around like a lost sheep. She couldn’t decipher what was going on, neither could she tell why he had given her sixty seconds to decide.

“Three, two, one…”, Alexander’s countdown jolted her back to reality.

“I will stay here”, Amelia blurted out with a puzzled look.

At least, staying in such a mansion, with other ladies and a perfect breakfast, was better than living with an old man who wouldn’t stop smiling at her. Those were her thoughts and deep down, she hoped that she was correct.

“But, why am I staying here? Why do I have to make a choice?” Amelia cried out in frustration.

They ignored her and that only made her feel worse.

“I would have her. Sorry, I broke my promise to you”, Alexander said to the other man, who quickly covered up the look of displeasure in his eyes.

“Honestly! I thought I had the little bitch to myself. I couldn’t wait to devour her once I returned home. Right until she escaped”, Bobby scoffed, while Amelia stayed rooted to the spot.

It sounded like a dream; a nightmare. Two men were making a bargain for her and one called her a “bitch”.

Finally, Bobby turned to Amelia.

“I couldn’t come after you last night. The moment I knew you ran to him, I knew that you were still in my hands”, the old man said and broke into mild laughter.

“Too bad you chose Alexander”.

Amelia was choking on her breath. Her lips were parted as though she wanted to make an utterance, but the words never came off her mouth. Her eyes brimmed with hot tears and her body shivered in shock.

She had thought she found a savior, but that was wrong. He was no savior…

Now she understood why the men chasing after her retreated the moment she entered the Rolls-Royce. It was a different link to the same destination.

“How much did her father owe me again?” Alexander asked Bobby, who seemed to be calculating in his head.

“A million dollars”, he replied.

“She also had an exquisite birthday party and a beautiful, expensive dress”, Alexander said and turned to Amelia.

“I hope you know how much you owe me now”.

Amelia was there, standing like an antique that was up for bidding.

Alexander turned his head to look at her. He focused his gaze on her face and went down to her waist. He stopped there the moment he saw how snatched and endowed she was.

“You are charming”, Alexander complimented and winked at Amelia.

Amelia shivered again. The men were currently talking about who would take her, and yet, she was standing there and getting butterflies in her stomach from a mere wink by Alexander.

“I really wanted this one. But it’s fine. She is all yours!” Bobby finally raised his hands in defeat.

“Yes! She is all mine”, Alexander responded and shot a flirty stare at Amelia, who quickly folded her hands to her chest.

Amelia staggered until her back hit the hard surface of the wall.

She wanted to believe that she did not witness what she just did. However, with every minute, it dawned on her that she was sold to the young billionaire standing before her, whom she thought was her savior.

“Here, we don’t call our names. We refer to ourselves with our number. Just like you, you are eleven because you are the eleventh girl to join us here”, Alexander noted as he paced around the hall.

Amelia looked at the ten girls whose head were lowered to the floor. They looked well. They appeared well-dressed, robust and radiant. It was clear that they were being taken care of. However, that didn’t stop the fact that they were slaves to their master.

Just like what Amelia has become…

“You must come down for breakfast every morning. There would be a hectic punishment if you fail to do so”, Alexander continued, sending sharp stares across to Amelia.

“When it’s your turn for the bedroom. You must get dressed and meet me in my chambers. Failure to do so would result in a hectic punishment”, Alexander went further.

Amelia lifted her head at that point.

“Turn for the bedroom?” She inquired, searching his eyes for answers.

“Yes, time for the bedroom”, Alexander replied nonchalantly.

“Everyone here was either bought or taken as collateral for a failed business. However, you all are on the same level and must respect each other”, Alexander informed.

“Finally, I’m your master, and you must do as I say and how I have ordered. Is that understood?” He questioned and they all nodded, except Amelia.

“This is bull shit!” Amelia suddenly scoffed and exclaimed.

Indeed, she considered it one. She had heard of young girls who got sold off as a payment to their parent's underlying debts. However, she never imagined that she would be a character in such a story.

“I’m not an item or antique. You can’t order me around as though I’m a slave”, Amelia cried out, with hot tears welling up in her eyes.

“You are a slave. My slave!” Alexander thundered as he took slow and dangerous steps towards her.

Other girls watched them with surprise. No one ever dared challenging what Alexander had said or ordered.

“I can’t be your slave! I’m just a girl who have no real parents or family. You won’t cut me off from my life. You are only a loser who thinks he has the world at his fingers!” Amelia said and threw a spit across to his face.

She was done being quiet and naive. According to her, a closed mouth would never provide solutions. This enraged her and blew her out of her shell.

Alexander was marveled as he looked at the first girl to be aggressive and rebellious. Every other lady who he had brought to the mansion remained quiet and accepted every of his utterance. And now, a young girl of eighteen was becoming a thorn in his flesh?

“Did you spit on me?” Alexander asked Amelia, who rolled her eyes at him while breathing heavily.

His eyes were bloodshot and his fists were clenched in rage. Her pulled her on the neck until she coughed consistently.

“I would kill you if you dare insult me again!” Alexander roared and pushed her until she hit her back on the hard wall.

He hated being aggressive. However, he would never take a “no” for an answer.

Finally, he swirled around to look at the other ladies, who were seemingly frightened.

“Eleven would be in my bedroom for tonight!” He divulged.

Amelia gasped and caressed her back that were aching already.

Alexander shifted his gaze to a lady who seemed to be the eldest in their midst.

“One, get eleven ready for tonight. She shouldn’t be late, or you would both be punished”, Alexander stormed out of the hall, leaving the eleven ladies who couldn’t move an inch from where they stood.

Amelia blinked her eyes severally to be sure that she wasn’t having a mere hallucination. Alexander on the other hand walked over to her and touched her cheeks to ensure that she was real. Even if he had wished to meet her soon, he never thought or imagined that it would be in such an unplanned situation. “Amelia?” He said in a voice that sounded like a whisper, blinking off the tears that welled up in his eyes. The past couple of months was so much to handle and for a minute, he had thought that he lost Amelia forever already. Amelia gulped down hard as the different memories of Alexander started playing out in her head. “You…you were the person who helped me with the money?” She asked, with tears dripping out of her eyes and falling to the ground. Alexander didn’t have an answer to that. All he wanted was to feel her head on his chest. At this, he pulled her into a very warm hug and inhaled every part of her body. “I missed you so much that it felt like I would die”, Alexander

Alexander’s PovI groaned as I stood to my feet, wincing in pain when I felt a crack somewhere at my back. I was getting better and could move around, but I still felt down. The door opened and a nurse walked into the room, wearing a frown and making to lead me back to the bed. “You should go back to bed sir. It’s not ideal for you to walk around in this manner”, the nurse declared, holding my hands and making to lead me to the bed.I sighed deeply and walked over to the bed, with my heart deep in worry. I had a lot to think about but the main thing was Amelia and how she fairing at the moment. The nurse looked up at that point and took in a deep breath.“Excuse me sir…I think I just have to let you know because it’s very important”, she said, causing me to lift my head in surprise.“What’s going on?”She shrugged slightly, as though she was still contemplating if she should let me know or not. After a while, she finally looked at me.“The lady just had a child. It’s a boy”, she sa

Noah’s PovMy heart dropped in shock the minute Amelia told me that she had her memories back. That was the last thing I was expecting to hear because I didn’t see any signs of that…“What?” I muttered as she scoffed and wore a very wry smile. “You have your memories?” I asked and again, she nodded in affirmation.I staggered and dug my hands into my head in shock. What the hell?“And I know that Alexander didn’t rape me. He is not a bad person like you pained him to be”, she added, with a glint of pain in her eyes.I felt a tightening in my throat just as I tried to think of what to say. My head was totally blank and I was lost on the next line of action to take.It was beginning to look like I was the loser in this game and I certainly didn’t like the feeling that came with it.“Get out! I don’t want to ever see you again”, she dropped and for a minute, I thought that I’ve just heard wrongly. At first, I thought that she was only trying to joke with me and so, I stayed still and r

Amelia’s PovThis was not the type of life I wanted. Noah had made things look so easy that i didn’t bother having any thoughts about what I would do if things didn’t work out.We got stranded on the road, without a dime on us and then, I got into labor. I never believed that it was it, until my water broke…We made our way to a hospital not far from where we was. From the look of the hospital, I could easily tell that it was for the rich. I screamed in pain and cried continuously just as I was led into the hospital premises. Just then, the doctor walked out and looked at me with a strange gaze.“Is she registered in this hospital?” The doctor asked and for a minute, I thought I had heard wrongly.I never actually thought of this. It was actually ideal to have your child in the hospital where you got registered in. “I’m not! But please…”, I cried out as the pain in the lower part of my stomach became fiercer.Noah tried to talk to the doctor as well, but he wasn’t making any attemp

Alexander’s PovMy men came into my room later that evening, with a big frown on their faces. I jerked up the moment they walked in, wondering why they wore a very dull look on their faces. “What is going on? Did you find her whereabouts?” I quickly asked, trying to steady my heart that was beating out of my chest. They stared at each other after which one of them shook his head negatively.“She is not at Grey’s mansion anymore. From what we gathered, Noah took her away and their whereabouts are unknown”, he explained and for a minute, I thought that I’ve heard wrongly.“What?” I screamed and made to get on my feet but they kept me down with a worried look.“You are not fit to walk around yet. Please get some rest and we would handle this”, they tried to persuade me but none of their words made sense in my ears. My heart was broken to tiny bits and there was nothing to do. My body ached severely and I groaned the minute I tried to raise my legs.“I need to get better. You don’t un

AmeliaI felt a bang in my head and for some seconds, I felt dizzy. “Amelia…are you okay?” I heard Noah’s voice, but it was distinct. What was Noah trying to say to me? He had said that we were currently in trouble because the treaure he had with him was the fake. That simply meant that we had no money or option of what to do. “I’m okay”, I gasped as I swallowed hard, trying to steady my heart that was beating frantically. Deep down I was scared and greatly disturbed. I was beginning to think that I was finally away from Grey and One. Noah’s plan sounded so good and for a while, I thought that I would have a brand new life that would be free from all the drama.“Look at that mall”, he said and shifted his gaze to the mall that was just across the street. I nodded my head in understanding, deeply wondering what he wanted us to do at the mall.“We need to steal from someone. That is our only way out. We have to leave this city”, Noah said and for a minute, I thought that I’ve just
