Ibukun hurriedly buttoned up her white shirt. She picked a blue tie from the drawer and skilfully knotted it. Grabbing her school bag and the jacket on top of the bed, she hurried out of the room.
She rushed down the stairs and quickly sat at the table. Her elder sisters were also seated around the table while her mom served everyone.
“How was the concert?” Tosinmile asked as Ibk turned to glare at her.
“It’s not a concert, it’s a stage performance” Ibk retorted as another of her elder sister shook her head at her.
“I sincerely don’t see the difference you know” Toluwanimi whispered as Ibk gritted her teeth.
“I won’t blame your guys; ignorance isn’t nice” Ibk said as she grabbed a plate of toasted bread.
She had been blessed with a lovely family. Lovely parents, the bestest elder sisters and two annoying brothers. Her dad was a civil servant while her mom worked in a private firm. She was one of the biggest lawyer not just in the state, in the whole country.
She had clients all over the country. Her case losses could be counted with one hand. Ibk was extremely proud of her mom; whenever she had the opportunity, she didn’t spare any humility and boasted about her mom.
“Get going, the bus is probably here already” Nifemi replied as she munched her toasted bread.
The house was currently a girls’ hostel if you excluded Ibk’s dad. Her elder brother was studying overseas while her younger brother was in boarding house.
As if on cue, they heard a horn outside and Ibk stood up to wear her jacket. At the side of the jacket was a bright golden emblem with a cartoon king on it. And on the emblem was written in italics was De Royals International College.
Ibk picked on the toasted bread and did a high five with her sisters before she strode out of the dining room. She was about to close the door behind her when she peeped inside again.
“Mom, Dad, I’m off!” Ibk said as she slammed the door and hurried out of the gate.
The school bus was already waiting outside and Ibk walked inside replying all the greetings sent her way with a smile. She hurriedly walked to the back of the bus where three empty spaces were and sat down.
She looked outside as the bus moved forward and turned into another neighbourhood. It stopped at a glamorous huge house waited white. A beautiful dark complexioned girl walked out of the door and entered the bus.
Just as she was entering, a guy stepped on her while trying to switch sweats.
“Ayobami, don’t you have eyes?” she bellowed at him as the bus went silent. The guy who stepped on her looked at her with a bored expression.
“I merely stepped on you, what’s with the you don’t have eyes?” Ayobami asked as the girl chuckled at him.
“If you had eyes you wouldn’t step on me” the girl replied and Ayobami snickered.
“Fikayo, you and this your mouth ehn, you will land in trouble one day” Ayobami replied as Fikayo nodded.
“At least, my body parts are complete” Fikayo replied as the bus roared with laughter.
Just as Ayobami wanted to reply Fikayo, Ibk waved her hand at Fikayo “Fikky” she called out with a smile and Fikayo instantly wore a smile and pushed Ayobami out of the way and rushed towards Ibk.
“How was the stage performance? My parents were hell bent on having some family time so I couldn’t sneak out” Fikayo complained as she sat down and removed her school bag before placing it beside her.
Ibk laughed “What did you guys do during your family time?” Ibk asked as Fikayo turned to her wearing a deadpan expression.
“We watched thundermans” Fikayo replied as Ibk burst into laughter. She held her stomach as she laughed. Fikayo hissed as Ibk laughed.
“I mean; I’ll rather sleep than watch thundermans with my parents like they didn’t even get the small jokes. You need to have seen Ini’s face while we watched it” Fikayo said as Ibk ceased laughing slightly.
Fikayo’s parents are the kind of parents which one could say had revolved to the 21st century. They weren’t like your usual Nigerian parents so you could imagine the kind of family Fikayo had.
The children could converse with parents freely and the parents easily understood their children.
“Forget it, I stayed up all night to watch the video you posted on your page” Fikayo said as Ibk smiled.
“Lashe has gotten way cuter, his dimples kinda sinks in deeper when he smiles nowadays” Ibk said her eyes full of adoration.
“What’s up people?” a girly voice echoed in the bus and Ibk shook her head with a small smile.
An extremely light skinned girl was slapping handshakes with everyone in the bus. She had short conversations with a few people and she laughed and smiled until she got to where Fikayo and Ibk were seated.
“What’s up girls?” She said as she sat on the seat beside Fikayo.
“How do you manage to talk to …..” Fikayo asked her expression showing how much disdain she had for most of the people in the bus.
“Girlll, don’t do that” the girl said as Ibk laughed.
“Blessing, leave Fikayo alone” Ibk said as Fikayo leaned in her seat.
“Mehn…... Lashe has gotten hotter” Blessing cooed as Ibk nodded.
“I mean; his outfit yesterday was so dope” Fikayo chipped in as Blessing started moving her head to imaginable song.
“I’ll be here oh baby, if you ever need me” Blessing sang.
“I’ll be here, here, here, here” Ibk and Fikayo sang along in the bus.
“What do you guys even see in this Lashe guy sef?” a guy asked turning to the girls.
“Someone like you can’t grasp why we love him so much. The day you find out why Tola can’t like you back, you’ll know” Ibk replied and the bus roared with laughter. Even Fikayo and Blessing burst into laughter.
Fikayo swallowed her saliva as the body guards led them to a room. Ibukun instantly walked towards her friends and wore an apologetic smile.“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you guys” Ibukun said slowly as Lashe walked up to them.“Hello, you are Fikayo and you are Blessing right?” Lashe asked as Fikayo looked at him in surprise.“You know us?” Fikayo asked in shock and Lashe laughed.“Don’t you think it’s weird if I don’t know my girlfriend’s friends?” Lashe asked and Blessing chuckled.“It’s really hard to believe this” Blessing said and Ibukun smiled.“I’m sorry ehn. Have you forgiven me?” Ibukun asked as Fikayo sighed.“It all makes sense now. How you were unresponsive when your idol got a girlfriend. Your mood when his grandma was ill and died. It all makes sense now” Fikayo said as she turned to Lashe.“Welcome to the geng Lashe” Fikayo said as she punched his shoulder playfully while Blessing and Ibukun looked at her in surprise.
Ibukun felt her phone vibrate in her pockets and she quickly brought it out. She stood up and walked away from the girls as she picked the call.“Hello babe” Lashe’s voice drifted through the phone to Ibukun’s ears and Ibukun felt herself getting chilled as his all of a sudden sensual voice.“Hey” Ibukun said softly.“You reached already?” Lashe asked and Ibukun could hear him shuffling around and the background voices of the staff that took of him whenever he had concerts.“Yup. Already seated, Fikayo and Blessing is with me” Ibukun replied as she heard the makeup artist voice telling Lashe to adjust his head.“Okay. The concert will start soon” Lashe said and Ibukun nodded.“See you on the stage” Ibukun said with a short laugh.“Roger that milady. I love you” Lashe replied.“I love you too” Ibukun said as she hung up the phone and walked back to her seat and sat down.“Was that your boyfriend?” Blessing asked and Ibukun nodded
Ibukun adjusted her hold on her school bag handle as she walked alongside her two friends as Fikayo started talking.“I think Lashe has juju” Fikayo said and Ibukun turned to her as she burst into laughter.“Juju? Fikayo you are crazy” Ibukun said and Blessing burst into laughter.“Why?” Blessing asked.“How did he know that we were finishing his exam today and arranged his concert to be today?” Fikayo asked and Ibukun scoffed.“Didn’t you know that DUL finished their exams the day before yesterday? Girl you are seriously over thinking” Ibukun replied as Fikayo pursed her lips.“Fikayo said Lashe is using juju o” Blessing teased a she and Ibukun burst into laughter.“Better stop laughing if I give you your eulogy” Fikayo threatened as they entered the bus.“Give me let me hear you when it’s not as if I don’t I know your own” Blessing replied as she sat down.“Juju girl” Blessing said and Ibukun burst into laughter. Seeing her fie
Lashe walked out of the courthouse as the massive crowd started cheering and shouting. Lashe couldn’t hold back the smile spreading across his face. He looked towards the massive ground as with the help of his bodyguards he was able to climb a slightly higher place to talk to his fans.He waved at them with a smile and their yelling’s went a ton higher while Lashe laughed and smiled. They soon quietened down and Lashe looked around squinting his eyes.“I was looking around hoping that I would be able to remember every face that is here” Lashe said slowly and softly.“Thank you everyone. There is no way I can describe how I am feeling. Seeing you guys here makes me feel so sweet on the inside and trust me when I say this feeling is totally alien to me. I’ve never felt like this before. I want to say a big thank you to you guys, everyone here, everyone watching from home, everyone who can’t watch from home but still supported me, I can’t help but feel at home around

Lashe took a deep breath as he sat in front of his computer. It was his usual live meeting with his fans. He had skipped it for two months, so the fans were swarming on his Instagram page and immediately Lashe started the live video, the fans started commenting and Lashe wore a small smile.“Hello everyone” Lashe greeted as he waved his hands with a smile.“Yeah, I can see all your greetings. I hope you all are doing well” Lashe added as he read the comments.“I wanted to say thank you for everyone who came to bid my grandma goodbye. I felt all your love from afar. I’m glad you were all there to watch her lay to rest” Lashe said as he wore a small smile. Reading the fan comments as they told him not to be sad.“Now I have a problem but before I tell you my problem, you have to listen to this short story. Would you guys listen?” Lashe asked as he pursed his lips.“My name is Adedeji Toluwalashe and I don’t know if my surname rings a bell to anymore. Mayb
“I just heard about on the internet and that was why I sped up my visa and all. I was coming home already so I just hurried it. I was still shocked when I landed. I was so shocked and had to hurry to pay my respects to her. I didn’t believe it” Uncle Deolu said as he dropped his head.“I visited her grave before I came though. There were lots of flowers there” he added and he turned to Lashe with a frown.“When did all these happen? How come you couldn’t contact me? I watched all your concerts and heard your songs while I was Canada. I tried to contact you but all to no avail. There were many times I sent messages to your fan mail but I received no reply. I figured out that you were doing fine” Uncle Deolu said and Lashe sighed.“I didn’t know how to. My manager manages my fan mail, he must have thought it was spam or something” Lashe replied and Uncle Deolu smiled and nodded.“I’m glad you are okay” Uncle Deolu said as he turned to Ibukun’s mom.
It wasn’t until later that Ibukun had discovered that the documents were the documents that clearly stated that Lashe’s parents owned the properties that all his Uncles had snatched. Apparently, they had made fake documents. Her mom took the matter up immediately and sued the uncles to court immediately. She got her whole legal team working on it and Ibukun knew her mom; forget about the fact that Lashe was her daughter’s boyfriend, she was his fan and injustices like that, she hated it. She was definitely going to win the case, that Ibukun was sure of.She sighed as she closed her Physics textbook. Her mock exams were starting the next week and she had barely started reading due to the stress that had plagued the previous weeks. There was a knock on her room door and Ibukun turned and the door opened to reveal Lashe. He was wearing black suit trousers and a top with jean jacket. He wore a small smile as he walked towards Ibukun who had shot up from her seat
“There are sleeping pills inside” Tosinmile said and I looked at her in surprise as she nodded as we both turned to Lashe.“He needs to rest” Tosinmile said as my eyes went soft. I placed Lashe’s head on my laps and adjusted him in a sleeping position. Slowly cradling him and patting him to sleep was what I did for about three days straight.I wasn’t surprised at the massive turnout at the burial. A lot of teenagers were there and they were all shocked to see their always smiling idol looking as if his soul had left him and which there were times I almost thought it did.Lashe was the only family member she had left and Ibukun’s parents took care of everything. Ibukun had a black hat covering her head a black nose mask covering her face as she walked towards the grave and collected the spade. She carried sand and poured it on the hole.Tolu squeezed her hands reassuringly and Ibukun nodded while she sighed softly. She gripped Lashe’s hands tight while the oth
