Elena’s pov;

We were currently sitting on the couch as I felt there hard gazes drilling on my head. The painkillers were withering away letting the pain kick back in. My hand felt numb. I couldn’t move it. Even if I tried, I couldn’t. It hurted, a lot.

“We both have a great news for you all-" His face turned towards my mother "-Maddie would you like to tell them?” She smiled sweetly at him and nodded. “So we are getting married this week on Friday and then we’ll go to a vacation for a week or maybe more.” She spoke, happiness dripping from her voice.

Everyone clapped and congratulated the new couple. “Also boys, I want you all on your best behavior, alright?” He scolded, a hint of playfulness lurking in his voice as he looked at the young ones. “We’re always on our best behavior, dad.” Zane replied with a smug face, his voice deep and rough just like his father.

“Also show Elena her new room.” Damien smiled at me. A series of grunts were heard in the living room, but soon after, one of the twins grabbed my arm and led me towards the staircase. Their voices faded away as we strolled upstairs.

“I cant believe her mother didn’t give her up for adoption.” One of the twins said making the other hum in approval. They both looked heavily identical. A carbon copy of each other just like the other pair but that pair had different hair color so it was easy to distinguish them apart.

“I know right, she cant even replace our sister, I mean just look at her, our sister was far pretty and gorgeous than her.” The other one concluded.

I flinched at his words that pierced my heart.

“S-Sister”? I stammered upon my own words. They both abruptly halted. Their heads turned around, looking at me.

Their orbs glistened with a dark emotion which I had only seen in his eyes.

An emotion I was too much familiar with. One of the twin, grabbed my throat and pushed me towards the wall. His light green eyes had turned into a darker color as his hand tightened around my neck. “Don't ever fucking dare too forget that you’re no one and you wont take the place of our dead sister.” He was pulled back by his twin. “Shane stop, it’s not worth it.” Zane said sighing.

I coughed, inhaling a deep breath. He could’ve killed me at this very moment.

The thought brought chills on my skin. “Consider yourself lucky we aren’t doing anything now, but after our parents are gone you’ll sleep in the garden with those hungry dogs.” Zane spat out.

With that they left, leaving me infront of my new room.

I went inside.

It was a beautifully decorated. Stuffed animals on the queen sized bed. A huge balcony and also a walk-in-closet. Exploring, I went inside the bathroom which was equally beautiful. Everything was in white just the way I liked it.

After unpacking all of my stuff, I looked at the clock, it was almost dinner time and also the time of my medicines.

I stepped out of the room only to be bumped into a freaking wall. But that lucky me, it wasn't a wall it was a persons chest. I looked up and saw Vincenzo standing there with an annoyed look. “Come down for dinner dad asked me to get you, but you know what? You should just stay in your room because none of us wants to see your ugly face.” He mocked.

Looking down, I nodded. The only reason I wanted to eat because I had to take my pills and I hadn't had anything since yesterday morning.

We both walked in an uncomfortable silence.

Soon we arrived at the dinning table. Their once hopeful stares turned sour, why? it was because of me.

I went towards the empty chair which was beside Shane and opposite to Zane but before I could sit on it, Shane dragged the chair away making me fell on my injured hand causing a wince from my mouth.

Everyone laughed at their brothers prank.

But all I could feel was pain.

Biting my lip, I stood up. Immense ache shooted in my hand. I could see droplets of blood on the cloth I had wrapped around my hand.

Sighing, I sat down placing my injured hand on my lap. I had no other option but to eat the food with my left hand. I tried cutting the steak with a knife but I couldn’t.

Every time I tried to move my hand, pain erupted, causing me too bite my own tongue from screaming out.

So I drank the water which was placed infront of me. After three whole glasses I was full. The dinner was pretty awkward for me since I just listened to their talks. They were busy in their own world, so I decided to head back in my room without anyone noticing me and I succeeded.

No one uttered a word.

Plopping myself down on the bed, I grabbed a pillow and moments later my eyes fluttered close letting the deep slumber take over me where he always haunted my life.

Where he tortured me and I always cried for help. But no one was there to help me escape and end my miseries.

No one. Not even my own mother.

I was alone.

All alone.
