CHAPTER 6: REGRETS

Two months later...

Queen Antionette's POV

"I haven't seen much of your favorite omega around here lately," Beta Vincent chuckled. "You are quite annoying. Why do I put up with you?" I scoffed. "We both know why," he laughed before leaving my study.

I swear if Vincent didn't know my secrets, I would have probably had him hung long ago.

"What's on that brilliant mind of yours?" Lincoln asked. "Nothing of concern. How was your day, mate?" I asked, leaning in for a kiss. "The Viscount and the Marquess are bumping heads over land titles, AGAIN. Why can't they just let their wolves fight it out?" he sighed, falling backwards on the bed. "Is there anything I can do as your Queen?" I asked, mounting him. "You could attend the Gala in my absence. I swear you have a tongue that convinces even the dead," he replied, rolling me onto my back. "I will attend. Will the Gamma or Beta accompany me to the Kingdom of Santak?" I asked. "Both," he answered, placing his lips on mine.

Diplomatic missions were a pain in the ass, but I was good at persuasion, just as my mother before me.

"Would that be all, mate?" I seductively asked, loving the feeling of his hands roaming my body. "There is this one thing..." he trailed off, finding his way inside of me. "OH!" I moaned at the sudden feel of his hardness penetrate my secret place. "This is my favorite place to be," he groaned, slowly thrusting himself in and out of me. "I want to bear your pups now until forever," I moaned softly. "Then you shall have them all," he answered, quickening his pace as he trailed soft kisses up and down my neck.

The passionate kiss we shared had so much electricity within it that I never wanted to leave this moment.

I grabbed ahold of his muscular back and clawed through it as I felt the rise of my climax hit me.

"That's it," he growled, pushing deeper and faster inside me. "I love you, Lincoln Petraeus!" I cried out, feeling his warm release inside me.

After we cleaned ourselves up, Lincoln rushed to a meeting with the Earls of the Round Table. I only had one event for today, but it wasn't until midnight. While he listened to the Earls complain, I will be focusing on my own event.

I was hosting the Luna Queen run in wolf form. It was a tradition I started long ago thanks to Mckenna who actually put such thoughts in my head. It allowed all she-wolves to not be their rank amongst those that are ranked for just one night.

"Your highness, the chow, and refreshments have been set aside for tonight's run. Is there anything additional that you require?" My handmaiden, Margaret asked. "Yes, what has McKenna been up to? I'm afraid to trust that one," I lied. "O-oh, we all assumed that she was your favorite, seeing as you both grew up together," Margaret stammered. "Goddess, NO! Her mother begged me to bring Mckenna, and I pitied her," I lied again. "Truthfully, she has been rather quieter than her usually chatty self. None of us see her much. I've only looked down upon her in the fields. Nothing more," Margaret replied. "Good for her. That will be all, Margaret. Please inform McKenna that she will not be participating in tonight's festivities," I said, shooing her away. "Of course, your grace," she bowed, but I didn't miss the smirk that fell upon her face.

McKenna's POV

I didn't see much of the Queen in the passing months. She had my duties switched from palace detail to working in the kitchen and out in the fields. I was a full-time laborer.

"McKenna, the Queen has asked me to inform you that you will not be participating in the Luna run," Margaret said before turning to leave me. "That's great news! I am a bit tired anyway," I lied, but I wouldn't dare give them the satisfaction. "It's one of the biggest events throughout the year. Why would you be excited not to partake?" She scoffed. "I have the reasons that do not require me to explain to neither you nor the Queen," I replied, lifting my basket of fresh berries and walking away.

Margaret can tell the Queen whatever she liked. I didn't care either way. What she set out for bad, I turned it into good. I knew she would run back and tattle. Gossiping is what she did best, especially after assuming I had a thing for Marlin.

Rumors would should start about me once more pissing the Queen off. I wonder what it would be about this time. Either way, I enjoyed being between the kitchen and in the fields. That meant I didn’t have to see the bitch Queen.

I made a couple of friends and even had surprise visits from the king, which usually stirred many rumors that I'm sure have traveled to the queens' ears. He visited the kitchen, but he only ever spoke to the head omega, Olga.

My thoughts were cut short when I saw Swan heading my way with a cheeky smile.

"Did you hear? The king's real squire, Julius is returning from overseas," Swan blushed. "I met his squire, Marlin. He is super lazy," I laughed. "He was a stand-in! Besides, I think they hung him or banished him. He is never around anymore," Swan replied, making me realize I hadn't seen the lazy bastard. "Marlin was lazy, but he was everything good," I said, defending him. "I hope they did not harm him," I added. "Perhaps you are right," she smiled before babbling about the real squire.

I continued preparing lunch for the court covered in flour and drenched in cherries. Not to mention, I had to prepare chow and other refreshments for those participating in the Luna run at midnight. I made my way back toward the kitchen.

"You're doing this all alone?" I heard the Alpha King ask from behind me. "Your highness,  you scared me," I said clutching my chest. "My apologies, I had no intention to," he spoke. "No worries, my Lord. You asked me a question earlier. I must confess that I enjoy it but don't tell the Queen," I chuckled nervously. "I know she can be a bit much, but do not hold it against her. I am glad that you are well. I am leaving for a trip for a few days. Do you think you could whip me up some of those blueberry danishes you made last time?" he asked. "Yes, my lord. I will have them packaged and brought to you upon completion," I bowed. "Thank you, McKenna," he said, winking before leaving.

I looked away and back at the door. There sitting near a loaf of bread was yet another yellow daffodil. The scent flooded my nose and brought me peace until it didn't. It wasn't the king because he was here talking with me. There were at least five others in here, but I could not narrow it down.

Not an entire minute passed before Beta Vincent stormed inside the kitchen.

"Where's my lunch, omega?" he growled. "Beta, I am not in charge of the lunches. It is our head omega, Olga. I do not mind packing you something if you desire," I firmly said, still bowing my head. "What I desire I am sure I will have soon enough," he said suddenly behind me. "Beta..." I started as he began inhaling my scent from the crook of my neck right as the Alpha King and Gamma walked in. "Oh, shit, are we interrupting?” Gamma Felius chuckled, but the king did not utter a word. "Vincent, stop dilly-dallying around and come on," Alpha King-Lincoln said before giving me a disapproving growl. "Your grace, it is not what it looks like," I exclaimed in panic. "Vincent, Felius, leave us," the king commanded. "Your grace..." Beta Vincent began to say but soon bowed in submission.

I stood trembling at his harsh tone. Was he upset with me? I cannot make Beta Vincent leave me be no matter how hard I've tried.

"McKenna, you best be careful. Behavior as such ignites whispers for someone such as yourself," he warned. "My king, Beta Vincent, will not leave me be..." I started to explain, but the Queen walked in. "Remember what I said," he said sternly, grabbing the Queen by her waist and walking out of the kitchen.

Queen Antionette gave me a disapproving look before exiting, but I only chose to ignore it. I tried to focus on the king's warning.

Beta Vincent always showed up at my place of work unless I was in the fields. Swan thinks it is because the king is soft on me; it makes the Beta feel disrespected and even challenged. People think he is jealous of me, but he made it pretty clear that he hates omegas, so he sleeps with them and makes them feel less than trash after. Margaret is one of them.

"He assumes omegas are only good for manual labor and bedmates," Halo scoffed. "He is quite a condescending fickle wolf," I replied. "He is a loser and a coward," Halo growled. "Let us focus on our plan to leave this place. I know what the seer said, but I'm not staying here forever. It is unfair," I said, cutting off our mind-link.

Beta Vincent's POV

"Omega! I better have my lunch delivered shortly. I don't care who usually prepares it," I growled, entering the kitchen again. "My lord, I cannot possibly fathom why you hate me so much," McKenna replied, confused. "You are NOT my mate. Don't you dare speak to me as if I owe you an answer," I said, now breathing down her neck. "I guess if I were Queen Antionette, I surely would have an answer straight away," she replied, shocking me. "It is you that should be careful. Provoking a Queen who is not your own is certainly dangerous," McKenna added, but I already had her throat in my hands.

I violently pushed her against the wall ignoring her attempts to fight me off. I inhaled her intoxicating scent up close before licking the side of her face.

"Don't touch me!" She squealed. "Don't you get it? I can do whatever I please. You may want to be careful. The king should not be provoked either. I hope you don't think your roaming eyes go unnoticed. You want to be with him instead of me, don't you, whore?" I growled, pulling her waist into my own. "Get that abomination away from me!" She shouted, hinting at my erect manhood. "No! I think it's time you two met," I replied, pushing her down to her knees. "Fuck off! I will bite it off!" She threatened as I undid my pants.

I heard a noise in the distance, never releasing McKenna's hair from my hold, what I didn't expect is for her to bite my thigh.

"GOT DAMNIT!" I growled, watching her run horrified out of the kitchen. "THIS ISN'T OVER, FUCKING BITCH!" I shouted.

I fixed my pants just as my oldest bedmate, Margaret, walked in.

"Beta," she said, bowing. "Margaret," I said, eyeing her lustfully. "What can I get you?" She asked, throwing an apron on. "There is something," I said, putting her small hand on my still erect manhood. "I-I thought we weren't d-doing that again," she stammered. "Don't you want to help me out like the old days?" I asked seductively. "Your grace..." she nervously trailed, but I already pulled her into me. "You know I love you, Margaret. I haven't stopped thinking about you since the last time," I easily lied. "Beta Vincent, I know about you and Celia. She told me you said the same to her. I am an omega but not a fool. Please don't make me do this," she begged. "All you omegas talk too damned much!" I growled before storming out of the kitchen.

I was sexually frustrated all because of McKenna and now Margaret. Looks like I need to teach Celia a lesson for talking too much.

"Vincent, what is going on with you?" Queen Antionette asked in passing. "I need my mate. Why haven't I found her yet?" I asked, frustrated. "Perhaps the Moon Goddess is punishing you for sleeping around," she chuckled. "That is not funny. How could I have been so blind as to think that filthy omega, Mckenna was my mate? I'm not sure why my wolf insists that there is a connection of some sort," I confessed. "You will find her, Vince," she said, patting my shoulder before leaving me to walk toward my brother, her mate, Lincoln.
