SAPPHIRE.

I fell to the ground as soon as his firm hand made contact with my face.

Goddess, It hurt..

I rolled slowly to the side, my face swollen in pain. I heard a high pitched ringing in my ears from the hit, my skin tingling from the force of the slap.

It hurt so much.

“Must I repeat every single word to you?” Lord Brogan seethed from his seat next to me. “What did I say about shedding those bloody tears?” He asked darkly.

I had tried to return to my knees before I angered him further, but my body ached far too much, my head spun in the sudden dizziness, and instead, all I could do was lay helplessly on the floor, my hair sprawled round me as I tried to gather my breath.

Even with my eyes partly open, I still felt him, the king, shift slightly in his seat. Slowly, I lifted my eyes to the head chair he sat on, my vision impaired slightly with my hair over my face,but I saw him so clearly.
