SOFIA

“If you think I will agree to something like that then you’re sadly mistaken. I don’t need a male creature in order to survive.”

“Miss. Volkov, you do not understand the seriousness of this situation. These creatures are savage, they do not possess a modicum of sympathy. Being alone out there is the same as walking into a group of blood-sucking vampires. No offense.”

“None taken.”

“With the protection of the strongest creatures, you wouldn’t have to worry about survival.”

“And that comes with a price of giving myself over to some male creature that I don’t even know. What if he’s a serial killer?”

“Everybody inside this prison has done atrocious crimes. One is not better than the other.”

And that should make me feel better?

“How is sleeping with someone for protection better than being on my own?”

“I’ll give you a small example. There was a Shewolf here before, she was sentenced for petty crimes. You remind me a lot of her. Just like you, she refused the Protection.”

I didn’t want to listen to this story because I had a slight idea how it was going to end up.

“She survived roughly twelve hours on her own.”

“What do you mean?”

“There was a rowdy dragon who noticed her. He dragged her into his cell when her guard was down, used her for days, and then passed her onto one of his buddies who did the same. Unfortunately, she killed herself before she could come back to my office. And make no mistake, she was a strong wolf.”

I didn’t react even though I knew it was going to be bad.

“Trust me. It’s better to belong to one male rather than get passed around with the rest.”

“I will stand by my decision.”

Morris stared at me like he was feeling sorry for me, there was something else clear in those blue eyes.

Sadness.

He wasn’t saying it out loud but he believed that my decision was going to become my ultimate downfall.

And I was hell-bent on proving him wrong.

“I understand your concerns for my well-being but I can take care of myself.”

There was one thing that my brother taught me well and that was to fight. I wasn’t trained in any martial arts but knew how to protect myself when needed.

“Is this your final decision?” Morris asked, staring at me from beneath the rims of his glasses.

He wanted me to change my mind but I was a stubborn girl. It was my stubbornness that led me to this prison.

“Yes, sir.”

He gave me a nod, but he looked disappointed. “Very well then. Eroan will show you to your cell.”

Danny met me in the hallway. She looked nervous as she should be. “There’s a Prison Protection Program that you can sign up for. According to the warden, it makes the lives of the female creatures easier. Sounds sexist right?”

“What did you choose?”

“I prefer being solo.”

“Inmate! Start walking!” the shifter guard called Eroan called out.

“Good luck, Danny.”

I sat inside a small buggy that rolled forward towards my cell. It was already starting to make sense what Morris had just told me. Male creatures dominated this prison. There were hardly any females in the vicinity and the ones that I was looking at were completely in control of the males that were treating them like slaves.

I crossed a cell where a female creature was naked and getting fucked by a dragon. Her cries of pleasure erupted from the open cell and the loud thumps of her body creaking against the bed. A crowd of other inmates surrounded that particular cell, looking in shamelessly like it was a tv show they couldn’t miss.

Disgust wasn’t even a word to describe my current feelings.

These creatures were wild. All they needed was food and someone who could conveniently provide them with sex.

The clank of chains brought my attention forward and my eyes immediately focused on the broad bronzed chest of a large male creature. Dark hair ruffled, and he wore a mask and a muzzle. I watched as he walked past me. The guards were on either side of him but it seemed to me like he was leading the guards on the leash. He gave off a strong aura; tall and broad shoulders, any creature wouldn’t dare come anywhere near this one. He turned sideways to look at me.

And those whiskey molten eyes gave him away.

That was the same Alpha I’d seen looking through the window of his cell.

I’m coming for you.

It was that voice again.

My chest tightened with fear. I looked away, concentrating on the route rather than this Werewolf who kept threatening me. I wanted no part of him. Those bulky arms looked like they could crush me without any problem.

I wasn’t sure if he was being serious or playing me. These were hardened criminals we were talking about. What could the Alpha have done to get thrown into the prison?

And why did he want me? It was common knowledge that Vampires and Werewolves were sworn enemies, so the Alpha telling me that he was interested in me was giving me all the red flags.

My cell wasn’t any better. It was a tiny cell with bars, filth covered the floor and the walls. Nasty claw marks were etched onto the stone like someone had tried their best to claw out of there but hadn’t succeeded. There was a bed in the corner with barely any sheets on it.

Eroan hadn’t been too lecherous like the other guard who’d asked Jake and Celeste to have sex so I assumed this guard was decent until he opened his mouth.

“Sofia, is it?”

“Yes?”

“There’s no need to sign the Protection Program papers if that’s what you want. I have another solution for you.”

“Which is?”

“I’ll help you survive in this prison. Get you food, fight off the other male inmates,” he let a ghastly long-fingered hand caress my cheek, “If you let me bed you whenever I want.”

“Go to hell.”

He didn’t look happy, “You’ll pay for talking to me like that.”

The cell’s gate was shut and locked and for the first time in hours, I enjoyed the solitude. I lay down on the hard rock-like bed and stared at the ceiling.

I needed to remain strong for survival.

* * *

The cells opened in the early morning hours the next day and all the inmates were expected to have baths.

Everyone walked in a line to the showers. I could feel eyes fixed on me but I kept my head facing straight ahead, ignoring the lusty stares and the crude remarks.

These all were male creatures walking behind me, two of them were singing Sexy Back and I knew it was for me.

Come here, girl…

Go ahead be gone with it…

Come to the back…

And then they roared with laughter, others joining in. I gritted my teeth, stopping myself from spewing something that I shouldn’t and get into far worse trouble. The walk to the prison bathrooms was the longest five minutes of my history and the thought of going through with it every single day was already disturbing enough. Gone were my rebellious days, it was time to bite my tongue here if I wanted to survive alone.

Once I found a stall I went inside and shut the door behind me, sighing in relief.

I removed the uniform and stood below the warm spray of the water.

It felt like heaven.

And then suddenly the door was kicked open.

I screamed and tried to cover myself but it was of no use.

The creature laughed at my obvious distress, his eyes roaming over my naked body.

“How dare you?!” I screeched.

“Just here to give you a message. The Alpha wants to see you. Right now. If you don’t show up, he’ll use any means necessary.”

SOFIAThe blood drained from my face when I heard him say that. It’s like he’d hit me with tons of bricks or threw ice water on my face. Take a pick.“You can’t be serious about this. How do you expect me to sleep with someone just to remove the werewolf’s scent?”Dimitri folded his arms across his chest. “I don’t think we have any other option, Sofia. It’s either that or father will have you assassinated in the house.”“I can’t! Dimitri…”“It is the only way.” He insisted, fire blazing in his eyes. He hated this as much as I did but my brother was powerless when it came to father. “I have already lost my mother because of our father’s temper. I don’t want to lose my sister too. Do you understand what I’m saying?”“But…I already have someone I love. I can’t sleep with someone else.”He came to sit beside me, staring into my eyes, “Is the Alpha alive?”My mind flashed back to the car ride from the prison and the sound of the gunshot. I clenched the bedsheet in my fists, tears streaming

SOFIAAfter the king had lashed out at me, he refused to speak a word. He wanted me gone, and I was glad to oblige. I wasn’t very keen on having the conversation either. As I climbed the stairs to my floor, I could still hear my father screaming at the top of his lungs.“This is unacceptable! She slept with a werewolf! A lycan.” He screeched. “There’s no going back from there.”“Father, it’s okay. As soon as she marries Prince Ivan, everything will go back to normal.” I could hear Dimitri trying to defuse the situation. As much as he hated that I’d slept with her werewolf, he was still on my side. Dimitri tried his best to help me out in the situation.“Son, she bears the mark of the Alpha!”“Yes, I know, but if I explain the situation to Ivan, he’ll understand.”“You should have just finished her when you had her released from prison, would have saved me from the shame.”“I don’t think that is necessary.”“Find a way to get rid of the mark!” The king bellows.“Don’t worry, your majest

SOFIAI stared at my neatly folded prison uniform lying on the bed. It was easier to pretend like I wasn’t leaving. That was the bitter truth I couldn’t run from.We stayed in a bubble for the last few hours. Maverick pulled me on top of him and made me ride him, and while he pumped into me, he let me marvel at his face and hold him. I didn’t even realize when tears began streaming down my cheeks; it was only when he wiped them I realized I’d been crying. He hadn’t said he loved me back and I guess it was okay because these were my feelings; he wasn’t obligated to return them. It would have been nice if he felt the same way, but when I was moved to his cell, he’d been clear that he only wanted a woman to warm his bed and that’s the only reason he was attracted to me.So, I didn’t have a reason to feel so anxious and yet I felt like I couldn’t breathe. He was going to sign the papers confirming that he’d successfully completed his duties as my protector, which also meant that Maverick

  • Savage Alpha [Werewolf Prison Romance]   27 - The Alpha's Promise

SOFIAWhy am I being released from prison?”Typically, if a prisoner was told that they were going to be released from prison, they wouldn’t bother questioning further. Not me. I had another prison waiting for me outside, one that was included in a palace and had rules and regulations which I hated to follow. At least here, I knew what to expect. I could do my job and still be free to do as I pleased. With Maverick’s protection, I had far more liberties here than I did back home.“We’ve got the wrong person. You weren’t supposed to be here, Miss. Volkov and your brother used his connections to make sure you won’t stay in this place any longer.”“But…I—I’m a thief.”Morris shook his head. “It doesn’t matter. You’re free to go.”“Sir, there’s some mistake. You should tell Dimitri that I’m going to be released only after I’ve served my sentence.”“I don’t have the authority to do that. I’ve received orders from my superiors to let you go and this is not in my hands.”“When am I going to

MAVERICK “I liked someone. A human, to be specific.” She confessed. “Where did you meet him?” “He worked for my brother as his legal advisor.” I waited patiently for her to continue. “He and I became good friends. He sneaked me out of the palace sometimes and I got to experience things that I otherwise wouldn’t have. My brother warned me about him but I didn’t listen.” If that motherfucker hurt her, I’d hunt him down and kill him myself. To think that someone would have looked at her and thought of causing her harm made my blood boil. She was insecure and didn’t trust others very easily. This man could be the reason. “There was a party in the palace and humans who willingly let vampires feed on them for favors like money or drugs. I didn’t like what my brother and father practiced so I chose to feed on animals instead.” “I was feeding in a room that’s usually not allowed for human servants to enter but I heard the lock turning and I thought it was someone from my family,

  • Savage Alpha [Werewolf Prison Romance]   25 - Sigma Wolf

SOFIA I didn’t expect that outburst from Maverick, and definitely not the sudden declaration of ownership. He looked so lost in whatever that he was doing, he wouldn’t even pay attention to me.I wasn’t going to ask him to elaborate on what he’d just said, because that would make things so much more complicated. While Maverick was possessive when he wanted to get things done, he hadn’t told me he had any feelings for me, which was fine, because we didn’t need to complicate matters. Since he’d fought in a fight ring to protect me, he could think it gave him a free pass to own me. If he wanted us to be a thing outside of prison, he had to say it. Instead, he sat in the corner, sulking. My brother probably said things he shouldn’t have, and Maverick wasn’t going to talk. I’d done my hair and wore his favorite lingerie, but it was going to be a waste. He wasn’t coming to my bed. I fed on the blood-bag and downed a bottle of the birth-control potion. I never missed taking it. Pregnancy i

  • Savage Alpha [Werewolf Prison Romance]   24 - The Royal Vampire

MAVERICK Sofia’s brother looked exactly like a prince from a children’s fairytale book. He was the male equivalent of Sofia with his stormy blue eyes and dark wavy hair. He even wore the same frown and the unwavering overconfident glare.I laughed.“Something funny inmate?” The guard asked.“Nothing.”He locked me in a visiting room with a wall separating me and Dimitri. There were shackles around my wrists.“You have ten minutes.”Dimitri didn’t smile, did not greet, just continued to bore holes into me with his heated stare. I knew from the look on his face that he was looking down on me. I was just too wild for the blue-bloods. No doubt he wanted to put his hands through the bars and strangle me. As long as he wasn’t showing any fangs, I didn’t need to be hostile.“Sofia must have told you about me.” He started.“She did. Let’s cut to the chase. Why did you want to see me?”“Because you’ve brainwashed my sister, you sick bastard!”I did not expect that outburst.I laughed, “How ol

SOFIAMy hands were cuffed, and the guard dragged me out of the cafeteria. When he told me that my brother was here for a visit, I almost didn’t believe him, but knowing my brother, he must have finally tracked me down. This also meant that it was all over.Maverick sensed something was wrong. He stood up, “if you don’t want to see him, you don’t have to.”“He’s my brother.” I hadn’t even realized that I was tapping my foot. “I have to see what he has to say…”Any other female would have happily traded places with me. I would have come across as a spoilt brat who didn’t want to live in a palace. Who in their right mind would want to live in a prison instead? My freedom here was limited, but at least there were rules that I could follow and get away with things. In the palace, I was a caged animal.I walked behind the guard, the entire way to the visiting room. I had a sudden urge to bolt. To run and hide, to pretend like I wasn’t the woman my brother was looking for.We came to a halt

SOFIAThe wolf hopped onto the bed and lay there on the mattress. I was reluctant at first since I wasn’t sure if it was really him but those haunting eyes gave him away. His golden eyes stared at me, unwavering. They were whiskey gold mixed with a speck of green. Wordlessly, he closed them again. There was no sign of the beast that was unleashed earlier, he just looked like a harmless big wolf.“Maverick…” I walked closer to the bed, keeping my distance in case he didn’t recognize me. The last thing I needed was a werewolf bite.I was terrified of what was going to happen next. Does he stay in the wolf form for a long time because he’s injured?I didn’t know what it was like for the werewolves since I’d never been close to them until I’d been sent to Dark Waters. Werewolves had always been my enemy; we were taught to kill them.I couldn’t guess the amount of Wolfsbane used, it could have been a deadly amount. If that was the case, Maverick wouldn’t live through this. It would kill hi
