SOFIA

The words kept haunting my mind.

The Alpha wants to see you right now.

I didn’t need to see anybody. If he was the Alpha, it meant something to his pack of dogs, but I wasn’t part of it. This was a prison and everyone was equal here.

I wasn’t sure if that was true or if I was trying to convince myself of lies.

There were inmates here who were far more superior than the others. Creatures with the power to run the show, to dominate, and demand submission.

Unfortunately, it seemed like the Alpha possessed that power.

I walked out of the shower hastily coming face to face with a dozen other male creatures who stood naked. Some of them were putting on their uniforms, others leering at me. Their thoughts were completely transparent.

I just need a piece of her.

Wonder if she would accept me as her protector.

That ass is hot! I want to be the one to fuck her!

Will it be dangerous to have sex with a vampire?

I tuned them out and went to the locker where a clean pair of uniform was waiting for me. There was a towel wrapped around my body and yet I still felt naked in front of the other inmates.

An inmate was working behind the counter.

He smelled of humans but I wasn’t very sure.

If he was really human, I wondered how he felt safe working with so many creatures. He was food for them.

I placed my token on the counter.

“Can I have a uniform, please?”

He looked at me once before looking away, continuing to hand out the uniforms to others.

“Excuse me?”

“The Alpha said you can’t have the uniform.”

I stared at him, completely baffled. “I’m sorry, what?”

“The Alpha. He says you’re not allowed to have one unless you talk to him first.”

I gave out a humorless laugh. “Why would you listen to him? He’s not the boss around here! Give me my clothes!”

“Look, I’m sorry but I can’t go against Alpha Maverick’s word.”

“So what do you suggest I wear for the whole day? Palm fronds? Oh wait, I wouldn’t even get those here. Do you realize survival is already difficult for me in this place even with the clothes on?”

He looked guilty but didn’t make a move to help me out.

“Forget it!”

Hot tears were burning behind my eyes but I’d die before I show a sign of weakness. I started turning away when he called out to me.

“There’s one way you can get your clothes back.”

“How?”

“Talk to the Alpha.”

I huffed and walked away from there.

It was no use talking to him. Things here were apparently run by the alpha and he seemed to have inflicted some type of fear into their minds that they would do whatever he asked them to.

I dried my hair with an extra towel I found and then I carefully wrapped the towel around my body, making sure all my private bits were covered. This is the last place I wanted the towel to drop.

I had to strategize my path from the bathroom to my prison cell because between that ten-minute walk, I could be pulled in by a bunch of savages.

And I wasn’t just talking about rapists. There were creatures here who ate other creatures.

I made a beeline for the exit, but before I had any chance of walking out of there, three large men blocked my path. I didn’t even have to look up to know who one of them was.

The Alpha’s Minion One caught one of them and hauled him towards the exit, “Get outta here.”

When most of the creatures were gone, Minion Two slammed the door shut leaving just the three of us standing in the prison bathroom.

The others scrambled out of the bathroom quickly, not wanting to witness whatever was about to happen here.

The Alpha stood only a few feet away from me, I was within his reach but he didn’t make a move, not yet at least. He looked like he could sense my thoughts about bolting.

“I’ll scream!”

He chuckled darkly, “Scream all you want. We’ll see who can hear you.”

He was huge with inky black hair and brown eyes that had golden specks in them. That evil face was joined to a set of broad shoulders, muscled with a lean waist to go with it. He wasn’t anyone you would call handsome by the books, but there was a rugged edge to him that made him seem almost attractive.

He was wearing a pair of grey prison pants which rode low enough that I had a perfect view of his V-cut abs and the light dust of dark hair over his chest. From the first glance, I could tell that those pair of haunting beautiful eyes belonged to a wolf. They described a ‘hunter’ perfectly and in this case, it was clear who was about to be hunted.

“What do you want?” I managed to ask him.

A slow evil smile played on his lips. “What’s your name?”

“Where is my uniform?!”

“Let me try again, what’s your name?”

I wondered if I could tell him a fake name, but knowing him, I had my bets that he already knew it so it was no use lying to him. This could be some twisted game.

“Sofia.”

“Where are you from?”

“Can you move out of my way?”

He chuckled again, flashing me a set of perfect white teeth, “Do you feel threatened? All I’ve done is ask you where you’re from, Sofia, there’s no need for you to get so defensive.”

Someone tell this psycho that I wasn’t being defensive! I was frustrated with my lack of clothing!

“I’m not entitled to answer your questions. Give me my uniform and let me go!”

I hoped he didn’t hear the quicker of fear in my voice but that was impossible.

SOFIAThe blood drained from my face when I heard him say that. It’s like he’d hit me with tons of bricks or threw ice water on my face. Take a pick.“You can’t be serious about this. How do you expect me to sleep with someone just to remove the werewolf’s scent?”Dimitri folded his arms across his chest. “I don’t think we have any other option, Sofia. It’s either that or father will have you assassinated in the house.”“I can’t! Dimitri…”“It is the only way.” He insisted, fire blazing in his eyes. He hated this as much as I did but my brother was powerless when it came to father. “I have already lost my mother because of our father’s temper. I don’t want to lose my sister too. Do you understand what I’m saying?”“But…I already have someone I love. I can’t sleep with someone else.”He came to sit beside me, staring into my eyes, “Is the Alpha alive?”My mind flashed back to the car ride from the prison and the sound of the gunshot. I clenched the bedsheet in my fists, tears streaming

SOFIAAfter the king had lashed out at me, he refused to speak a word. He wanted me gone, and I was glad to oblige. I wasn’t very keen on having the conversation either. As I climbed the stairs to my floor, I could still hear my father screaming at the top of his lungs.“This is unacceptable! She slept with a werewolf! A lycan.” He screeched. “There’s no going back from there.”“Father, it’s okay. As soon as she marries Prince Ivan, everything will go back to normal.” I could hear Dimitri trying to defuse the situation. As much as he hated that I’d slept with her werewolf, he was still on my side. Dimitri tried his best to help me out in the situation.“Son, she bears the mark of the Alpha!”“Yes, I know, but if I explain the situation to Ivan, he’ll understand.”“You should have just finished her when you had her released from prison, would have saved me from the shame.”“I don’t think that is necessary.”“Find a way to get rid of the mark!” The king bellows.“Don’t worry, your majest

SOFIAI stared at my neatly folded prison uniform lying on the bed. It was easier to pretend like I wasn’t leaving. That was the bitter truth I couldn’t run from.We stayed in a bubble for the last few hours. Maverick pulled me on top of him and made me ride him, and while he pumped into me, he let me marvel at his face and hold him. I didn’t even realize when tears began streaming down my cheeks; it was only when he wiped them I realized I’d been crying. He hadn’t said he loved me back and I guess it was okay because these were my feelings; he wasn’t obligated to return them. It would have been nice if he felt the same way, but when I was moved to his cell, he’d been clear that he only wanted a woman to warm his bed and that’s the only reason he was attracted to me.So, I didn’t have a reason to feel so anxious and yet I felt like I couldn’t breathe. He was going to sign the papers confirming that he’d successfully completed his duties as my protector, which also meant that Maverick

  • Savage Alpha [Werewolf Prison Romance]   27 - The Alpha's Promise

SOFIAWhy am I being released from prison?”Typically, if a prisoner was told that they were going to be released from prison, they wouldn’t bother questioning further. Not me. I had another prison waiting for me outside, one that was included in a palace and had rules and regulations which I hated to follow. At least here, I knew what to expect. I could do my job and still be free to do as I pleased. With Maverick’s protection, I had far more liberties here than I did back home.“We’ve got the wrong person. You weren’t supposed to be here, Miss. Volkov and your brother used his connections to make sure you won’t stay in this place any longer.”“But…I—I’m a thief.”Morris shook his head. “It doesn’t matter. You’re free to go.”“Sir, there’s some mistake. You should tell Dimitri that I’m going to be released only after I’ve served my sentence.”“I don’t have the authority to do that. I’ve received orders from my superiors to let you go and this is not in my hands.”“When am I going to

MAVERICK “I liked someone. A human, to be specific.” She confessed. “Where did you meet him?” “He worked for my brother as his legal advisor.” I waited patiently for her to continue. “He and I became good friends. He sneaked me out of the palace sometimes and I got to experience things that I otherwise wouldn’t have. My brother warned me about him but I didn’t listen.” If that motherfucker hurt her, I’d hunt him down and kill him myself. To think that someone would have looked at her and thought of causing her harm made my blood boil. She was insecure and didn’t trust others very easily. This man could be the reason. “There was a party in the palace and humans who willingly let vampires feed on them for favors like money or drugs. I didn’t like what my brother and father practiced so I chose to feed on animals instead.” “I was feeding in a room that’s usually not allowed for human servants to enter but I heard the lock turning and I thought it was someone from my family,

SOFIA I didn’t expect that outburst from Maverick, and definitely not the sudden declaration of ownership. He looked so lost in whatever that he was doing, he wouldn’t even pay attention to me.I wasn’t going to ask him to elaborate on what he’d just said, because that would make things so much more complicated. While Maverick was possessive when he wanted to get things done, he hadn’t told me he had any feelings for me, which was fine, because we didn’t need to complicate matters. Since he’d fought in a fight ring to protect me, he could think it gave him a free pass to own me. If he wanted us to be a thing outside of prison, he had to say it. Instead, he sat in the corner, sulking. My brother probably said things he shouldn’t have, and Maverick wasn’t going to talk. I’d done my hair and wore his favorite lingerie, but it was going to be a waste. He wasn’t coming to my bed. I fed on the blood-bag and downed a bottle of the birth-control potion. I never missed taking it. Pregnancy i
