CHAPTER 63

ERIC’S POV

Pushing the door open, my heart stopped, my eyes widening at the sight before me —the guard was on top of Adrianna, his full weight crushing her delicate frame, fingers locked tight around her throat, choking the life out of her as though she were his worst enemy that he wanted to get rid of.

He wanted to kill her, and I thought they needed us alive?

“Eric…” she tried to say but the shackle of hands tightly wrapped around her throat wouldn’t let her. She cried out in silent pain and struggled feebly, gasping for air that was fast eluding her.

Baring my teeth in a growl as a surge of unbridled rage tore through me, I charged at the guard like a bull and slammed my body into his in a spear that pushed him off Adrianna, sending both of us crashing into the nearby furniture.

With our bodies rolling over each other on the floor, we struggled, wrestled, twisted, fists flying in the air in an attempt to incapacitate one another.

He landed a brutal punch to the side of m

CHAPTER 66ERIC’S POV“No… no… no…” I firmly disagreed with her, shaking my head. As I moved away from her, the room was so small that there wasn’t enough space to put any real distance between us. “You shouldn’t have brought that up knowing the answer I’ll give. There is no way I’m letting you come with me even if you ask a thousand times.”“But why?” She asked in that indignant tone, like I was depriving her of something she was entitled to. “When you get angry, you… you harm people,” she forced the word from her throat like she didn’t want to say it. “I don’t want you to hurt Coach Steele when we’ve not yet found out the truth which is why I want to come with you.”Huffing out an exhaustive sigh, I pinched the bridge of my nose, feeling the overwhelming urge to scream into something to let out all these pent up emotions that were eating me up from the inside.I was yet to recover from the pain of Coach Steele’s betrayal. I was still going to come up with a way for us to leave this

CHAPTER 65 ERIC’S POV There was no elevator. I didn’t expect an old rusty place like this to have one. We made our way upstairs, the floorboards groaning under the sole of our shoes. The door to Room 3 seemed stuck, refusing to open after I unlocked it with the key she gave. I had to slam my shoulder against it a couple of times before it could open. And when it did, the hinges creaked noisily as if ushering us into a haunted room no one has been in for years. Inside, the room was barely more than four walls and a bed. The sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed in weeks. The window was cracked, the curtain torn, and the fan above spun with a wobble that made me question whether it would stay on the ceiling. “Well… at least it has a bed,” I squeaked, letting out a breath. Adrianna didn’t say anything. She let out a sharp sigh and stepped into the room. Dropping her bag, she began taking off her clothes, removing the pads in her belly. I shut the door behind me, silen

CHAPTER 64ERIC’S POVAs we quickly left the house, we made sure to dress in our disguise outfits. Good thing I invested a lot in that after the same hypocrite that betrayed us advised us to take it seriously whenever we were leaving the house.Adrianna assumed a pregnant woman look: padded belly, flowing dress and head wrap while I dressed like her exhausted, working class husband in shabby oversized clothes, fake moustache, dirty face and a cap. All to avoid drawing suspicion.Walking through the crowded streets, it was difficult to find a good place to stay even if it was just for the night while still trying to be on the lookout, because everyone we walked past felt like a threat—watching too closely, lingering too long, or whispering something just as we passed. We couldn’t afford to be careless. Not now. Not with what was at stake. Every step we took was cautious, like we were walking on a thin rope. We kept our gazes low to avoid meeting anyone’s eyes and clutched our bags tigh

  • Saved By The Hidden Alpha King   Fighting for their lives

CHAPTER 62ERIC’S POVThe evidence was clear: Coach Steele was the only person who knew we were staying in this place. My heart clenched painfully in my chest as though two strong hands were squashing it. I couldn’t believe he’d rat us like this. Someone I considered a father. The only person who cared for me, took me in when no one else did, and molded me into what I am today. He said he’d give me the world if he had it. Little did I know he was sowing the seeds of betrayal, waiting for the perfect season to reap them. His betrayal cut deep—like a slow-acting cancer, it spread through me, staining every memory and history we shared. No one else could have done this but him. He found this place for us. Only he knew we were staying here. No one else. Everything about him, everything he told me, from the fatherly love he claimed he had for me to the reassurances and help he promised to offer us was all a lie geared to make us fall for him!If he was going to sell us out like this the

  • Saved By The Hidden Alpha King   A Safe House No More

CHAPTER 61 ERIC’S POV Fuck…! Fuck…!! Fuck…!!! I can’t believe they’d found us. I thought this house was the safest place for us to hide until this Alpha Nolan’s murder mystery died down. We hadn’t even been here for up to a week, and they’ve already caught up with us. This wasn't good. How was it possible they found us? What do I do now? Where do we go from here? I had no one else. I had nothing else. And I hated being in a position where I was helpless and couldn’t do anything to make things better. Having gotten all the stuff we needed for the house and without anything else to do, I decided to return early. I didn’t want to leave Adrianna alone for long. She had wanted to come with me but I didn’t agree because of the risk of anyone recognizing us, and she just might slow me down. She must be feeling very bored and lonely, and that made me move faster. However, a few feet from the house, I spotted someone on top of the roof. He was clad in a plain black professional-loo
