Chapter 14: A Few weeks Later

“Ana, can you come here for a minute?”  I hear Dominic’s deep voice say before I see him round the corner to the living room with a big smile on his face.

When I see something in his hand, I get excited before standing up and walking over to him.  In his closed fist lies a small pastel blue box.  From what I see of it, the box has a white silk ribbon wrapped around it expertly.  As I meet him in the middle of the room, I notice two things.  The first, that he seems very cheerful today, not usual at all for him.  The second, there is a spark in his eyes that has never been there before. 

Today, is the Full Moon Event of the Spring.  Many of our kind come from all around to party till the moon rises and then they take to the night as they mate all night long.  Last time I heard it, I was in the middle of the woods, but I still heard it from miles away.  Perhaps some of them got closer than my parents would have preferre
