Chapter 15: Did He Or Didn't He?
After he leaves the room, I hear his deliberate heavy footsteps stomp down the hall. When I realize that he isn’t coming back, I stop holding my breath and glance down at the ring on my finger. It’s amazing that it fits me perfectly.
Was it hers? I wonder before taking a closer look at it. If it was hers, she must have been the same size as I am now.
Raising my hand up closer to my face, I inspect it closely in the sunshine. I move over to the window so I can get a better look at the ring, and it starts to shimmer and sparkle when the light hits it. Looking even closer, I examine the rubies and diamonds that are carefully placed into the intricate gold ring.
When I look up, I see that it is casting a light show on the wall across the room. I smile and admire it for a little while longer before someone knocks on the door. Scanning the room, I finally uncross my legs and stand up.

“Knock” “Knock” I feel the tension in the air when all of us stare at the door. Exchanging glances with me after a few moments, Alpha Erickson turns his attention to the screen that shows the area in front of the door. Seeing Omega Jonathan, and that he is badly wounded, he rushes to the door and punches in the 4-digit number before it opens. As soon as it does, Erickson steps forward and grabs a hold of him before pulling him in. When he pulls him in, and sits him down on the nearest chair, I look him up and down and realize that he is in shock and must have a head wound, because I see only one other injury and that is to his side. It has been 10 hours since the fighting has stopped, and Alpha Erickson is still sitting there with his head in his hands and murmuring softly to himself things I can’t hear because he is saying them too low to be audible. After watching the screens for what seems like hours with my eyes glued to them, I sit back relaxing and close them for a few minutes. Returning home, I start to see the morning sunlight peak over the tree line, as I glance over at Dominic who hasn’t said a word to me since the minute we left.
