“Shit!”
I knelt on the ground, gathering the broken shards of glass with trembling fingers.
What was going on? How come Gustav and Axton were related…why…when...?
My mind was a jumbled mess as I tried and failed to make sense of everything around me.
“Don’t touch that!” Gustav’s voice was harsh as I felt him tug on my arms. “You’ll cut yourself.”
“No…it’s…” what was I saying? What was I supposed to say?
Why the fuck was I so pathetic?
“Hey…Anika. Look at me.” Gustav lifted my face to his with his fingers below my chin. “I’m sorry for confusing you. I know I said Lily had a lover and that…”
