His Background

Alessia’s Point Of View:

“Are you for real?” I spat in so much disbelief as I left my hand on the air, still holding the fries that I dipped on the ketchup.

I blinked my eyes several times as I covered my slightly parted lips using my free hand before finally got to glance at Sandra.

She’s the woman who saved me earlier from slapping Amelia. We kind off clicked each other the moment we start talking.

Her skin is pale as a bond paper and her hair is long enough to make and donate it as a wig. She has a pure black eye color that superiors her jaw dropping beauty, who can literally make every guy glance at her from time to time.

“I am very well sure!” Confidence was all over her voice.

She took a big bite on the hamburger before continuing to tell an ear captivating story.

It all started on the history on why Yadiel was very elusive on interacting with women.

She gave me three reasons that she just heard around the office. First is that Yadiel just don’t want to distract himself from his priorities and in order to do that, he will and continue to ignore women. Second is that he don’t want himself to get married.

According to Sandra, Yadiel gets annoyed on the things that women do, especially when it comes in dressing up who takes three hours just to find a perfect dress.

Third and last is this is what I really didn’t expect to come out from her mouth. Yadiel might be gay that’s why he despise women than men.

I mean, there’s nothing really bad at being a gay so why would he hide it?

Is he scared on what people might say to him or he’s just invalidating his feelings that he’s a gay. But if he is, I will probably say sorry to him and be friends to him yet I’m still doubting that idea.

The way he walk, the way he look and the way he talk is just so manly that can make every girls’ knees weakend. He have the charisma and the appeal that every woman wants from a guy.

“Is it what Amelia was fuzzing about earlier?” I asked out of confusion and crinkled my forehead.

“That insecured bitch really annoys me.” She replied instead and smashed the fries on the top of her plate as she narrowed her eyes as if imagining that Amelia is in front of her. “I heard that she has a crush on sir but can’t make a move because she’s always being ignored.” There seemed to be a successful smile flashed on her lips after saying those words.

Somehow, I felt honored that Yadiel did not ignore me the way he ignored Amelia. As if he’s treating me way different than others.

She glanced at me after that, slightly showing his mischievous grin. “You’re so lucky to put your ass on Sir Yadiel’s car.”

I was caught off guard with that and scoffed instead to cover the shock that I’m feeling.

“I don’t feel lucky though. It’s more like a misfortune to me.” Disagreement was evident in my voice.

I winced because of her bluntness and shook my head in disbelief. She even bit the tip of her milktea straw to stop herself from shrieking.

I rolled my eyes at her before sipping my juice. I ask her again instead to continue her office rumour stories.

She mentioned Madame Clayton, the woman who interviewed me. She told me that she’s like the second mother of Yadiel.

Aside from his Mom, Madame Clayton can make Yadiel follow her commands even though it’s not what he wants to do but unlike his Mom, who always spoils her son with whatever he wants and likes, Madame Clayton did exactly the opposite.

Yes, she’s willing to give everything what Yadiel wants, but for her, it’s in her vocabulary to have a limitation in every situation.

Being Yadiel’s second mother is not easy because you have to deal with his attitude especially with his mood swings.

Madame Clayton is a strict yet kind woman and becomes soft when it comes to him.

“I never imagined that Madame Clayton is close to him.” Was all I can say as I relaxed my body on the metal chair.

Sandra agreed by nodding her head causing her big earings to sway with a synchronized movement.

“I’m actually scared at her during my interview. Her eyebrows makes me somewhat wants to just quit applying my job.” She even laughed at herself after wiping the side of her mouth.

I also can’t help myself but to laugh with her because I can’t deny that she’s quite telling the truth. Maybe if it wasn’t with the woman who hired me instantly in the middle of my interview, I think I wouldn’t be able to pass.

“I have one more story to tell that surely can make your heart melt in admiration.” Sandra chirped and clasped her hands below her chin before letting out her dreamy sigh, eyes were half-opened and lips forming into a wide smile.

I observed her how she would play with her fingers as she keeps on exhaling soft sighs.

She began telling her story and I was just silently listening to every detail.

Obviously, I’m quite triggered because of her reaction but I will never show to her that I’m interested. She will just tease me to death, forcing me that I like and admire Yadiel even if it’s obvious that I feel way more opposite than she ever imagined.

Yadiel was only twenty-two years old when he got his own company. While doing his studies on college, he managed to also learn how to run a company with the help of his Dad. Being a CEO of his company was his goal which he achieved earlier than he imagined because of his hard work and determination for success.

Despite the multi-tasking, he still graduated with flying colors and top all the board exams. Business men and women were really determined to have a partnership with him and willing to fall in line just to have his presence.

He also rejected one of the top companies in the country because of what they did to his father.

That company underestimate and judged his father and instead of picking skilled and deserving employees, that company chose money over quality. It's a fight between connections and skills.

Yadiel’s not really taking it seriously but when he heard the news coming from the company that they had been backstabbing his father, that’s when he realized that he doesn’t need that company to rise.

He can and will be successful on his own.

Unfortunately, while Yadiel is starting to rise in the business world, a bad news came in.

His father will be no longer with his journey because his father died in a car accident. But despite that, he will continue the career that his father left, thinking that he will make him proud as ever.

My eyes got widened and blinked several times out of pure amusement.

The humming of the air conditioning echoed the quiet shop as I watched Sandra sipped on her milktea, chest were out and chin was looking up, obviously boasting that she knew everything that I didn’t.

“That explains his bitterness.” My stomach revolted in disgust.

“What do you mean?” She tilted her head and stopped mixing her milktea with the straw.

“Just because,” half-shrugging my shoulders, I said.

She also shrugged her shoulders and crossed her arms on her chest as she lays her back on the chair causing her jeweleries hanging on her neck to click to each other producing a luxurious rhythm from the pearls.

“How many years are you working in that company?” A line appeared between my brows because of curiosity.

Just the way she remain her poise and the way she talks is just so feminine. It’s like she have all the money in the world from her clothes down to her jewelries.

Sandra shook her head aggressively, “I’m a newbie but I’m a week older employee than you.” she sexily puts the strand of her hair behind her ear.

“What?” She’s a newbie yet her fighting spirit is beyond the level. The way she pulled Amelia’s hair earlier is like she’s ready to fight to death.

This girl did nothing but to impress me. I’m wishing to have the same courage like her. Yes, I did know how to fight back but not because I’m protecting myself. I’m fighting back just to save my ass from humiliation and embarrassment. There’s a big different between the two.

I somehow admired her.

We talked for a while when a question suddenly came out from my mouth.

“Does Yadiel really have that kind of attitude?” I wondered as I crinkled the side of my eyes.

Her brows automatically made a line, “What attitude?”

“He’s such a short-tempered guy who doesn’t know how to filter his fucking mouth and do nothing but to be rude to others.” My pulse starts to slam in my neck as I blurted out those words scornfully and smashed my teeth into each other.

I saw how Sandra’s lips fell apart as her eyes nearly popped out in shock.

She starts swallowing faster than ever and was barely able to breathe while trailing her eyes from mine to my back. Worry snaked through her along with the dryness of her lips.

“What are you looking at?” I spat and scratched the back of my ear with irritation.

I didn’t wait for her answer and glanced at my back only for me to gasped and stiffened in shock. I almost fell from my seat after seeing who’s Sandra’s looking at.

Sweats starts forming on my forehead as it continues to cascades down to my neck the moment my eyes landed on Yadiel’s blue seductive eyes.

“Report to my office now, Ms. Alessia Faye Smith.” My blood ran cold as the chill went through my spine the moment his baritone voice echoed my ear.
