LEN’S POV

“Why would I do that?” Elsie asked, as she looked up at me like I had grown two heads.

“Because you have poisoned the food already. You just don’t want to admit it.”

She rolled her eyes as she folded her hands across her chest. “I was practically trying to help her out this whole time. And this is the thank you that I get? I would have dragged her somewhere else and watched her choke to death. A public death would be too honorable.”

Selene looked like she was about to say something. But as she opened her mouth to speak, her throat obviously hurt again.

“Eat the food, Elsie.” I said one more time. And this time, it sounded nothing less than a warning.

“Fine,” she finally said, as she took a forkful, putting the dish in her mouth. She slowly wiped her mouth as she swallowed.

“It’s actually nice.”

Logan looked down at the food. “This is not her meal.”

Elsie’s eyes widened immediately. “It is. Sele

ANA’S POVI allowed myself to practically curl up into a ball as I laid on the bed. The room was a mess. There were broken glasses around. I didn’t even know how I was supposed to get anything done. Not with the way I was feeling about everything. I was already feeling guilty about the way Logan was getting involved in the whole thing. I didn’t want him getting in serious trouble like this. I didn’t like the fact that it felt like I was the one putting him against his brother. To be honest, he was a gem. He deserved so much better. And I was more than willing to give it to him. The door slipped open again, and I felt a hand on my arm. I got up immediately, taking in the sight of Len. I froze there and then, before forcing myself to get up. “What are you doing here?” I asked immediately, slowly moving away from his touch. He held his hands in front of him like he was trying to assure me that he wasn’t going to hurt me. It was a gesture that was both nice and hurtful at the same tim

ELSIE’S POVThere was no part of my visit to the resort that wasn’t worth it. Even if I had to go to the manager’s office and talk to the fat man that stayed on the chair like his life depended on it. I ended up tipping him and his boys just so I could get into the VIP section. I had to turn back countless times to make sure that her poke nosing mates were not around trying to play security guard on her. The stress didn’t matter. As long as I got to talk to her. My little talk with her only certified the thought I’ve been having about her somehow being connected to Ana. The way she screamed. The way she was silent when the whole thing with Logan and Len was going on. That wasn’t something that an Alpha like Selene should do. She was shocked like she had never seen a fight break out. I plastered a fake smile at the event planner as she showed me some more designs that she had on her laptop. I didn’t want her there in my space. But then, I had just managed to bag a visit from the Almi

ANA'S POVI could feel someone touch me. My eyes were closed, but I found myself smiling. It was a kind of dream I didn't want to wake up from just yet. I wanted to be stuck there forever. The scent of the person filled my nose. I didn't know who it was, but I was sure that it was my favorite scent. Either from now or the past. His hands slipped between my thighs, and I smiled even more. Something close to a giggle. I widened my legs slightly, and I felt him smile. He leaned up slightly, kissing the insides of my thighs, pulling my dress up as he kissed my skin. His fade was hovering over my lips, and I felt him kiss me. I opened my lips slightly, giving him as much access as he needed. He slipped his tongue into my mouth, and my hands reached up, pressing himself to me even harder. I could feel his hard-on against my skin. I wanted him. All of him. “Selene,” he whispered, and my eyes flew open immediately. Len had a small smile on his lips as he looked at me. His pupils were dila

ANA’S POVI drummed my fingers against the table as I waited for my order. I didn’t want anything that was going to bring attention to myself. But at the same time, I had so many reasons to throw the whole fucking table across the room. I was nervous. I had countless reasons to be worried at the same time. The first one was Elise. Showing up at the restaurant was more than a coincidence. There were barely things that happened that she didn’t plan when it came to her. All she did was lie. And I was going to show her that I wasn’t going to be falling for it again. I knew exactly what kind of person she was. She wasn’t going to win me over with the little sob story she came to begin with. The whole pack knew that getting married to Zach was the last thing I would have wanted. I wanted him away from me. So why was she acting like that was the only thing I could have ever wanted? In the past, I might have fallen for her tricks and lies. I might have

ELSIE’S POVSelene blinked twice like I had grown two heads. “I’m sorry. I’m… not interested.”I couldn’t help but cock my eyebrow. “I’m sorry, but did I do something wrong in the past? Did I do something that hurt you?”“No,” Selene said. Her voice was so cold that it sent shivers through my spine. It was almost like she was lying to me. I wasn’t willing to give up just yet.“I know that I’ve caused you harm. I’ve hurt you. I’ve said things that I shouldn’t have. But I’m sorry. Only a few people have actually believed my words and apology. I want you to be one of them over and over again.” That was my favorite line that I had always used for my sister dearest. Those were the exact statements that allowed me to have her husband wrapped around my finger. That was the exact statement that led her to her grave.“It’s nothing about what you’ve done.” She said, as she narrowed her eyes in front of me. I hated the way she stood like a statue th
