Chapter 20

Every individual in the house sat at the dining table, having their meal.

As they ate, Lydia couldn't stop thinking about Gary and Khloé. She kept picturing Gary’s sad face when Marian yelled at him, and it made her heart ache.

“Lydia, I’ve thought about this for long and I’ve finally made a decision,” Carson said and Lydia paused, paying attention to what he had to say.

“Well, I want to enroll Khloé in the same school as Gary, isn’t that a great idea?” Carson smiled.

“That's a great idea!” Lydia said, her face lighting up.

“It would be so good for them to be in the same school. They could have lunch together, and they could play at recess. And it would open Gary up to other friends!” Carson said, his eyes bright.

“It would be so good for them both. I think they'd really enjoy it.”

A smile spread across Lydia's face, but she didn't say anything. She could only nod.

She smiled inwardly, knowing Carson had Khloé’s interest at heart.
