"The past three years, several similar organizations have suddenly emerged. They're trying to take over the business we've built all this time. Each of them has a name and influence strong enough that the top brass of the Black Dragon Organization believe they'll become a serious threat if left unchecked."

"This isn't just a mere prediction. In fact, one of them recently tried to take over our business territory intentionally. Luckily, we found out in time and managed to handle it quickly," Daniel said, briefly summarizing the situation within the organization.

David Smith nodded several times. He understood the situation well. Long ago, he had already predicted this would happen.

"I've suspected this would happen for a long time. I warned the leadership of the Black Dragon Organization, but only a few took my words seriously. Perhaps they believed we were too big to be challenged," David said with a cold smile.

Daniel remained silent, remembering David's warning from back then. Among the leaders, Daniel was one of the few who had believed him.

"That’s why some of us are truly hoping you’ll return and join us again," Daniel said, gently trying to persuade David.

"I already told you, Daniel, I can’t. I have a new life now. Leave—I'm sure you can handle this without me."

"But, Sir..."

"Leave, Daniel!"

David’s tone suddenly turned cold and sharp. His gaze radiated authority.

Realizing the situation was getting out of control, Daniel didn’t push further. He motioned for his men to leave with him.

"I hope the Black Dragon Organization won’t fall because of this," David muttered as he watched them walk away.

It's important to understand: an organization's job was to protect major companies or well-known families from business rivals.

It was a lucrative line of work—but also extremely risky. That was why David had decided to leave once he married Luna.

Now, evening had come. David had just finished work. As he stepped out of the shower, Luna arrived home from the office.

"Good evening, Luna. Would you like dinner first, or a shower?" he asked, greeting his wife.

"I want to ask you something first," Luna replied, staring at David intently.

"What is it you want to ask?"

"About what happened at Willie’s wedding. Is it true, what they’ve been saying?"

David paused. He was caught off guard by Luna’s question. He quickly thought through the situation—he knew what had happened at the Diamond Hall was surely being talked about.

"Oh, that was just a coincidence, Luna. Maybe Jordan Nelson mistook me for someone he feared. That’s why he made his son and son-in-law kneel before me," David replied, trying to hide the truth.

Luna narrowed her eyes at him, scanning him from head to toe.

Thinking it over, what he said made some sense. It was hard to believe that someone like Jordan would kneel without reason, especially since David didn’t look intimidating at all.

"You might be right. I can’t believe they’d stoop that low, considering you don’t command any authority," Luna said sarcastically.

David just smiled at her remark. He didn’t want to argue.

"Let’s just forget about it, Luna. You should shower now. I’ve prepared warm water."

Luna nodded quietly and walked away.

Later, Luna came to the dining table. She sat down and examined the dishes laid out.

"Enjoy your meal. I hope the food suits your taste," said David, who was already standing nearby.

Luna didn’t respond. She glanced at him briefly, then sat down to eat.

"This food tastes terrible. I’m not eating it," she said, slamming down her utensils and walking away.

In truth, David's cooking was always delicious—perfectly suited to her tastes.

But tonight, everything tasted bland to Luna. Just thinking about who her husband was made it hard to enjoy anything.

David wasn’t surprised. He was used to Luna’s cold demeanor by now.

"There are fresh fruits in the fridge. If you won’t eat this, at least have some fruit. You shouldn’t go hungry, Luna," he said, still smiling.

David continued eating. When he finished, he cleared the table.

Midnight arrived unnoticed. David was asleep on the living room couch when he was startled awake by the sound of the door opening.

"Luna? Where are you going this late?" David asked, surprised to see her leaving.

"I’m meeting a business partner," Luna replied, barely glancing back.

"But it’s the middle of the night. Can’t the meeting wait until morning?"

"No. He insisted on meeting now."

"Luna, look at the time—it’s past midnight."

"So what? I do all this to support myself, because I have a useless husband. Stay out of this, David. Go back to sleep and enjoy your poverty!" she snapped before slamming the door.

David sighed deeply. He had a bad feeling something was wrong.

It didn’t make sense—who would want to meet a business partner at midnight?

Quietly, David decided to follow her.

“Hmm… Who is that man? What are they talking about?” David whispered to himself as he saw Luna sitting across from a tall man at a restaurant.

Driven by curiosity, he crept closer to eavesdrop.

"Luna, do you know who this is?" the man asked, showing her a photo.

"Isn’t that Willie Nelson?" Luna asked.

"Yes, that’s him. You’ve stirred up trouble with him. Now, if you want your career and your family’s business to survive, you’ll have to kiss Willie Nelson’s feet."

"Are you threatening me?" Luna asked, shocked.

"This isn’t just a threat, Luna. What I’m saying will happen if you don’t comply."

"Who exactly are you? I thought this meeting was about a business partnership?"

After Luna signed the documents, David and Daniel exchanged subtle smiles and nodded to each other. They both felt relieved. One problem had finally been resolved.David was very satisfied with Daniel's performance. Apparently, this man hadn't changed a bit over the years—always reliable, he thought."Alright, thank you, Miss. In three days, I will take care of the rest. After that, you will officially become the owner of the hotel and apartment."Once again, Luna was speechless. She truly didn’t know what to say. One thing was certain—she was extremely pleased and happy. She never imagined that she would come out as the “winner.” More than that, Luna never expected she would acquire the Albert Family's core business so easily. If she hadn't witnessed it with her own eyes, no one would believe it.“Luna, why do you still look tense? Aren’t you happy?” David Smith asked.“No, it’s not that, David,” she quickly replied. “I’m actually very happy. It’s just... this feeling is hard to expl

"Is this Miss Luna George?" Instead of answering, the unknown caller responded with a question of his own."Yes, I’m Luna George," she answered honestly."Miss Luna, I’d like to ask for a bit of your time. Tomorrow afternoon, I’d like to meet you at the Eastern Star Restaurant. Second floor, table number one.""Wait a moment—who are you? Why are you asking to meet me there?""You’ll find out who I am tomorrow. What matters is, our meeting will be about the major business left behind by the Albert Family."Luna was immediately shocked upon hearing that. For a moment, she was speechless."Si-sir, are you serious?" she asked, her lips trembling slightly."I'm serious, Miss. That’s why you must come tomorrow afternoon. See you then."The call ended immediately. Luna stared at her phone for a while, still visibly confused.Could that person be trusted? Should she go to the Eastern Star Restaurant as instructed?Or should she just ignore it?"Luna, why do you look so puzzled?" David asked,

Joshua Tyson, one of the sons of the Tyson Family Head and also Laura’s husband, was immediately at a loss for words. His lips parted slightly, but no words came out.Truthfully, Joshua had no intention of obstructing Madam Agatha’s efforts. But from another perspective, it would actually be much better if the George Family didn’t participate in this ‘competition’ at all.Because that was exactly what he wanted right now.“Grandmother...” After a few moments, Joshua finally spoke. “I think I have a pretty good idea.”Madam Agatha didn’t respond. She merely raised her eyebrows and looked at Joshua.“Even though the George Family and the Tyson Family aren’t the most powerful families in Phoenix City, if these two families unite to acquire shares and some of the former Albert Family’s companies, I believe our chances will greatly increase. A combined strength like that should be able to rival a single family ranked above us,” Joshua explained.Hearing that, almost everyone nodded in agre

Laura didn’t say another word. Because at that moment, whether by coincidence or not, Madam Agatha was glancing her way.Although the glance seemed ordinary, it was enough to make Laura feel afraid. She immediately fell completely silent.A few moments later, the old woman spoke in a clear, loud voice.“Is everyone here?” she asked, scanning the room.“Yes, Ma’am,” Elena replied on behalf of everyone.Madam Agatha nodded several times. She then invited her large family to eat. The banquet was held simply. However, despite its simplicity, all the food served was delicious and expensive. Anyone could see that. After the banquet ended, the atmosphere became more relaxed. A few bottles of beer were brought out. Those who enjoyed drinking beer didn’t hesitate to start.“Do you all know why I called you here today?” Madam Agatha asked everyone present.Almost everyone gave the same answer. David and Daniel were already back inside the car. They looked calm and relaxed. Despite the commotion they had caused at the Green Leaf Restaurant, neither of them felt even the slightest fear. In fact, they didn’t even bother to think about it."Sir, what should I do now?" Daniel asked, breaking the silence."Destroy a few of the Albert Family’s businesses. Don’t let them set foot in this city again.""Alright, I’ll get to it right away. I’m sure that old man will regret acting recklessly for the rest of his life.""But remember this, Daniel — I don’t want anyone else to know about what we’ve done,"David didn’t want his presence and actions to be known by others in the same circle. Not because he was afraid, but because he still wanted to enjoy his current life. That’s why he always moved in silence, so his secret wouldn’t be exposed."Don’t worry, Sir. Trust me, I won’t disappoint you.""Good. I trust you."Without realizing it, they had already arrived near Luna’s house. David as

"Yes, that's for sure. Ronald Albert would never run away from reality," he said confidently."But we still don't know who that person is, Sir. What if he has bad intentions toward you?" James looked worried. He feared something undesirable might happen to his master."Are you scared, James? Since when did you turn into a coward?"The old man who claimed to be Ronald Albert swiveled his chair. A pair of sharp eyes stared intensely at James."I... I’m only concerned about your safety, Sir," James replied nervously."Tch!" Ronald Albert sneered. "Don't be so dramatic, James. Trust me, everything will be fine.""Alright. I believe you.""Good. Now you may go. And don’t forget to prepare yourself properly."James nodded respectfully. Without delay, he withdrew and left the room.Ronald Albert remained seated.
